Air mattresses need to be inflated a few times before they "hold" air. They aren't deflating, the material is expanding. Once it's stretched out, you fill it full and it stays well.
The “pillows” are for the bucket seats. So you don’t lean backwards the way you did. They really should just be attached but I guess some backseats are still bench seats.

Hey James, first I really appreciate what you are doing, videos like these are rare these days. As for the atmosphere lights, I have a set of them and for the remote to work there is generally a sensor at the end of a wire that comes from the junction box, the remote works on a line of sight basis and if the remote can't see the sensor it won't work. Just thought I would offer that info.
That air mattress is a really neat idea. I'd bet it would work well for kids, say if someone needs a nap while you're on a picnic (and parked in the shade, with the windows down!). Also, I think putting the mattress in place first would help the part for the floor board to not need to be squished into place.
1. Air mattress: have used for young children while car camping. Works great. I agree with other reviewer who pointed out that inflatable products stretch the first few times in use and will need extra inflation until size settles. 2. I have lived in Palm Springs, & Edwards AFB & now live in central Texas…if you EVER find an in car adhesive that works in Vegas do a whole show on it…it’ll be worth it. 3. The advantage of coaster lights is to find where to put your open drink in the dark. (You are probably too young to remember drive in movies. 4. Since coolers rely on keeping cool air in, no cooler that isn’t airtight will ever work well. (Try leaving your ‘fridge’ open). PS as an aside IMHO when camping using several smaller coolers in sequence rather than a monster size cooler that everyone is constantly letting the cold out of is much more effective especially if A. you will be gone more than a day and B. James...I live alone so nobody else to ride with me. I put my trash can on the floorboard of the passenger side with the strap going over the gear shift handle. That way the bag doesn't slide around & is always within arms length while driving. I found 600 small bags on Amazon for $7 & they are black which looks nicer than store plastic bags. Yes, the black bags ship from China & takes about 3 weeks to arrive but the store plastic bags work fine until they arrive. When it gets full & being located within arms length, I just pull the bag out & toss it into the garbage can. If it's not messy trash, I pull the trash out & put it in a store plastic bag so I can reuse the black bag & I can still toss my trash in my garage can. I haven't tried it as a cooler yet so can't comment on that one. I'm finding it very convenient to toss any wrappers directly into the trash can which minimizes clean up. 😁 I've been using it for about 3 months with NO complaints. 👍 👍 👍
The luminous coasters are neat. The car cleaning goo/slime is not too shabby. I think the car trash can/cooler is something that would irritate me. But ya do kinda need a trash can in your car. My grandpa always has that trash can/tissue holder that say on the hump in floorboard of his El Camino. The floor lights are nice but not practical for me. Love the mattress for the back seat. I agree about the texture. Somebody will be making a video of living in their car with that baby. Haha. Great reviews.
I don't get too much garbage in my car, but I usually just throw it all away whenever I stop for gas. Doesn't take me but a second and it's usually just a few small wrappers or plastic from an energy drink.
In case you have still had some trouble with the atmosphere lights there is a chord coming out of the black box that leads to a tiny black receiver on the end of the wire. The remote has to be pointed at that to be able to change colors and functions. That’s why I installed mine up front and tucked away all the wires under the plastic siding and dash
You should place the led lights under your steering wheel area and glove compartment area. As well as underneath the driver and passenger seats. There should be a metal bar under the seats that will allow you to mount them. I drive for uber and lyft and use those exact lights. They are a lot better than what i thought they would be. Also it would probably be best to tuck the wires under your center console. These lights have made me so much tips doing ride share. 5 stars from me
At the very least, drive bin is a non bulky cooler you can carry say to a beach. Could also be used to hold stuff on a trip. The liners are silly...unless you can't find a store bag. I use my store bags as trash bags and haven't bought a real trash bag in years.
Evelyn Schmidt, liquids really. Not all the trash is dry and plastic bags aren’t water tight. Also a plastic bag hanging off the headrests doesn’t look good. My passengers don’t want to see that when I’m driving them.
It’d be terrific for those late night parking lot back seat meet ups! After using the inflatable mattress, you can toss the condom in the Drive Bin! Save the planet!
I have one from walmart, I feel so uncomfy driving lyft with the trash bin in someone's face. So I do understand that. No one really uses it and throws trash around anyways.
For the remote for the led lights it has a small plastic on the battery you have to remove for it to work ! They put the plastic film on the battery so it dosent run out of juice sitting in the warehouse
The mattress was cool. I don’t think it should lose that much air in one day. The coasters have there purpose, swing where to put your beverage at night. Good review.
I slept on an indoor air mattress for a year and a half and they do spring holes every now and then and you ride them down. The part of it that lost more air will have a hole very soon. Also, by the end of the year, the cover material started thinning out. Supposedly you can patch them with pool patches but it is wicked hard to find the holes. You have to blow bubbles over it.
It would be covered by the liner if you stuck the Velcro on the interior of the trash bag. I had a trash bag that came with Velcro and it was for hanging in places other than head rests etc. You attach one piece to a plastic or solid hard part of the interior and the second to the bag. It wasn't handy for me at all and I imagined it would soon come loose in the heat or very cold.
As far as the trash can thing, you could take a cooler the same size and use it, you might be able to get one for less than $14.00. The air mattress reminded me of being a kid and falling asleep in the back of my parents' station wagon.
its very good adhesive the problem is you need to really clean the location where you adhered them to. they stick to the dirt which of course just pulls away with the dirt.
Best use of air mattress is for kids to play and sleep on during long drives. 55+ years ago my dad rigged up a semi-flat surface by filling in the foot wells with blankets etc. Several of us small kids loved it!! He would’ve preferred the inflatable version of today because it packs down into a smaller package for storage.
1. Drive bin: just buy a black or dark gray lunch bag at Walmart. They’re usually $7. I tie mine off to the gear shift & it hangs in the passenger well. It even has a velcro closure on the flap 2. Use Joe’s Sticky Stuff (clear butyl) to clean your cars interior. It works better than the slime & you get a huge roll for $20 w/ endless applications 3. A twin size air mattress will fit most backseats & costs $30
To be fair, the mattress probably didn’t lose air, but the vinyl stretched and lost air pressure. A typical rule about air mattresses is that you have to fully inflate it, wait 30 minutes and then top it off to break it in. My queen size one from Walmart mentioned waiting an hour before trying to sleep on it as a minimum break in period. This includes any separate compartments like that one. Vinyl as used in air mattresses can expand up to 40% larger than its original size, so that’s something to think about :)
My vehicle comes with atmosphere lights. Even the ones in the cup holders. The nice thing about the cup holders is when you want to put your cup back in the dark. You can see where your going with it so you don’t miss it. Love your videos. I think you may be one of the most unbiased reviewers out there! I’ve seen some that are so one sided when comparing items that I had to click the not interested option so they quit coming up in my UA-cam feed, because I watched one of their videos. I have subscribed to you. Have a great new year!!!
OH MY GOD!!! I thought of the Drive Bin back in 2000 but decided it was a stupid idea when I found that the litter bag had already been invented!!! So someone invented a litter bag for your car with a canvas skin and a strap.
I just seen an ad for Nite Ize Twist Ties and I was hoping you could do a review of them, I own a GMC and have roof racks and don’t want to waste my money if they’re not worth it. Also I love the cupholder lights, great for night travelling and you need to put your drink back, no wasted time looking for your cupholder. That’s what stuck out the most for me on this video. Thank you again for your reviews. I enjoy them and think you do a wonderful job. Cheers 🇨🇦
Hey james! I have the led car lights. There is a receiver box you need to aim the remote directly at for it to work. It is a very weak signal so you must be accurate with it. Another thing I found was I occasionally have to click the red button on the 12v end of the plug bc it gets stuck on white. Do not use while driving unless you are a passenger! 💜
For the ambient lighting kit for the car, you need to mount the receiver/ controller boxin an area visible to the remote and aim the remote at the receiver/ controller. Some devices have a wider reception than others. You may have to be fairly close. I mounted mine on the side of my center console adjacent to the stereo.
Atmospheric lights should work if you point the IR to the on/off button it looks like it hides an IR receiver and check the controller box and all the lights separately for small IR receivers
The remote for the light strips has to be pointed directly at the little box. I have a similar light for the tv and you have to mount the receiver where you can see it. So you need to be in back seat.
I have a fiat and the cupholders are hard to find in the dark. The coasters would work well for that. Just one is needed to add a little light where it's needed.
I have a station wagon (Yes, an 05 Focus Wagon). I keep the rear seat down for my dogs. I can see where I could easily sleep in the wagon with this car air mattress as I wouldn't need the inflated part that goes in the rear footwells.
I don't have the Super Clean but I have something similar. It does work and is really good for getting dirt and dust out of vents and speaker grills. The gel likes to stick to dirt so if your hands are dirty, guess what? Yep, it will stick to your hands. Wash your hands (or use some vinyl gloves) and there won't be a problem. Also only good for loose dust or dirt. It won't do much for something that is dried on like coffee stains.
USB lights connected to a USB cig lighter charger or a USB power bank would have been more manageable But its also true that lights with long wires are iffy in small vehicles, shorter wires may have been a better choice, which you could always shorten them yourself if needed.
Bought myself the coasters previously, what i did was gut the elctronicsout and wire in blue led light underneath connecting to my parker switch to turn on once i turn the headlight and dash lights on.
Here's what I use for my car's dust on the dash -- a swifter cloth. Store brand is even cheaper! No use for any other of those gadgets but still a fan of your videos.
I have that air mattress for my "shorter" friends. just lay it in the car and inflate them instead on the concrete or the road. They also take shape of the car interiors quicker. But I have that gadget.
Clean surface with micro fiber cloth and isopropyl alcohol, this will remove dirt, oil from bodies, and oil from car cleaners. This will properly prep the surface for a better adhesive bond. Textured surfaces are better avoided if possible due to less surface area having contact. This may result in shorter life span of the adhesive bond increasing the possibility of the lights being detached prematurely.
I have the Drive Bin and I love it. The fact that you can use it as a cooler comes in handy when you impulse buy ice cream and other small things that need to be cooled until you get them home.
James, I'm wondering if there's a real difference between using a 6-pack collapsible cooler you can pick up at Walmart or Dollar General vs the Drive Bin.
Hi James, great video as usual. I do have a question for you. Not sure if they are available but have you tried the EZ bed or the Yawn air bed? They are both inflatable as seen on TV. beds. I would love to get your views on them because I don't know which one is better.
During summer in the LV heat there’s no way those lights would stay stuck on there. The heat melts the adhesive. I decorate (bedazzle) my power wheel chair and during summer if I leave it in the car it always melts the adhesive on the jewels and they fall off.
With the air mattress you should have also tried it with pushing your front seats all the way up and leaning them all the way forward, sucks you would have to adjust them but you’d probably have so much more room and easier to move. Great video!
With the air mattress you should let your front seat all the way up. I have a Crown Victoria police interceptor and it’s a big car as people kno. When I let my seats all the way up I have more leg and head room
I have a mini van and I keep a small hard plastic garbage can with a 13 gal bag the only thing I do is is keep something heavy in the bottom of the can to keep it from tipping over during a drive but the can definitely makes a difference to me I do like having the can to keep my van clean
Theres a ir reader on one of the lil boxes hooked to the lights check it out point the remote at the 2 boxes and it will work theyvare supposed to be mounted with the extra sticky tape i had them on my motorcycle few years back
Yes it would be. 👍 I used to get car sick so I wish I had this. I still get car sick & not just in cars. I can't even go on the city bus. I wish I could take this bag with me everywhere but I think it'd scare or gross people out. 🤔 It'd be perfect for me though.
I have one of those car wastebaskets (not the same brand). I usually have it strapped to the front of the passenger headrest, and it comes in handy with discarded wrappers and napkins.
I've used a product called Cyber Clean which was identical to Super Clean. I think there were 2 different versions: yellow for home & office and blue for car. Don't really know if they had any other difference than the color though. Could've been just a marketing trick to sell more stuff. Anyway thanks for your awesome videos and best regards from Finland!
All you need neon light wise is a neon light license plate frame. Stick 1 under the both front seats and the lights will light front and back ;) I had over 700 LED neon lights on my show truck back in the late 90s early 2000s
How carefully did you test the remote? Those types of remotes, which I'm pretty sure use IR, require line of sight with the receiver, and generally need to be fairly close (like, a meter or two at most). I have an LED setup in my bedroom with several separate devices. The receiver is probably in the boxy thing, but I'm not sure.
You ought to see what you can buy to put in your car to make it livable. The mattress is a good start. But what about a/c for when it’s hot and heat for when it’s cold? Is there an alternative to running the car all night?
I always love ur videos and I truly appreciate all the hard work u put into them. U should compare these car gadgets with the ones you can get off Wish.. See if the Amazon ones are better quality or not cause I know they have many if not all of these car gadgets (and then some!) Have a GREAT night James! Again, thank u for sharing!! 😊💯👍✌✌
I have similar underglow lights that are hardwired into my car's cigarette lighter, they cost me about 35 bucks at PepBoys a few years back (or AutoZone has them too), and they have a dial hardwired in to choose the color. I used Loctite to glue them into place, mine had issues with the 3M backing as well falling off where I had placed them... where you put the 3rd and 4th ones, there is a spot to put them under the chairs but it is a pain in the nuts to get to, so I can understand just putting them on the chair.
I keep eyeing those air mattresses on Amazon... thanks for reviewing one of them. After the eviction moratorium ended, homelessness in my city (Charlotte, NC) went up by 55% in just a couple of months. I bet I'm not the only person who's been giving it the side eye, and thinking long and hard about it investing in it.
I leave alot of camping gear in my truck. I usually sleep in my tent but I feel like this would be good for emergencies. But it seems a little expensive I feel like the support part should be the same material as the mattress
The internal car lighting thing’s controller and leds look like a standard led controller and led strips made for PCs, chances are you could probably get the same thing for less, and get a replacement controller
I have slept in my back seat of my truck on a regular air mattress...$25.... And two correctly sized carboard boxes to fill the behind the seat gaps, plus could put the air mattress in one with the pump for storage when not in use. Cost of coleman 12v pump, $13.00 at wallie world. That tested back seat set up is just a bit unwieldly and the price is too high for me. But I enjoyed seeing you messing with it! Ha ha.
Lilo and 2 suite cases to fill the gap, with a double duvet folded to work like a sleeping bag, normal pillow and my Mickey Mouse alarm clock to make sure I don't over sleep being so comfortable. You do call them Lilo in America don't you?
I used to drive to MA a lot from Georgia, and that car air mattress would have been excellent to have. Sleeping in the back seat isn't the most comfortable thing in the world.
Air mattresses need to be inflated a few times before they "hold" air. They aren't deflating, the material is expanding. Once it's stretched out, you fill it full and it stays well.
Maybe cardboard in the bottom, too.
It looks like you could snap it closed( trash bin)!
Brittany Vasseur tested?
Jeandiata Smith thank you.
Idk about that, I had an inflatable air mattress and it deflated every night no matter how full it was before hand.
With that car mattress, you should use the “pillows” it came with to put underneath the mattress on the car seats beneath so it doesn’t slant so much.
That's what I figured they were for.
or deflate the support arm a little so its not pushing that side up as much.
He needed to move his front seats forward and it would of been fine

I've seen a few things like those in stores. they are water resistant but not water proof.
At the very least, drive bin is a non bulky cooler you can carry say to a beach. Could also be used to hold stuff on a trip. The liners are silly...unless you can't find a store bag. I use my store bags as trash bags and haven't bought a real trash bag in years.
The Drive Bin is really for Uber Drivers or road trips in my opinion.
Why put a plastic in a bin. Just use a plastic bag.
Evelyn Schmidt, liquids really. Not all the trash is dry and plastic bags aren’t water tight. Also a plastic bag hanging off the headrests doesn’t look good. My passengers don’t want to see that when I’m driving them.
It’s appealing to me, and I rarely go on road trips. It’s going to keep the car clean!
I think the Velcro for the Drive Bin is to keep it shut on top especially for the occasion with the soda cans and ice.
All the dog hair cracks me up, it's everywhere!!
Your videos are my new obsession! Thanks for your thoroughness!
1. Drive bin: just buy a black or dark gray lunch bag at Walmart. They’re usually $7. I tie mine off to the gear shift & it hangs in the passenger well. It even has a velcro closure on the flap
2. Use Joe’s Sticky Stuff (clear butyl) to clean your cars interior. It works better than the slime & you get a huge roll for $20 w/ endless applications
I keep a swifter duster in the glovebox of my car...it’s a great duster for everything.
Atmospheric lights should work if you point the IR to the on/off button it looks like it hides an IR receiver and check the controller box and all the lights separately for small IR receivers
The car air mattress at a festival would be a game changer instead of a tent lol
They should be called LIT COASTERS
Perfect bed for Baleigh.
James, you forgot to show the alternative use to the backseat mattress. Use it as a lawn chair for 2. 👍🏼
Gabe G. lol
USB lights connected to a USB cig lighter charger or a USB power bank would have been more manageable
But its also true that lights with long wires are iffy in small vehicles, shorter wires may have been a better choice, which you could always shorten them yourself if needed.
I keep 1 in my car !! Handy at STop lights !!!
I have that air mattress for my "shorter" friends. just lay it in the car and inflate them instead on the concrete or the road. They also take shape of the car interiors quicker. But I have that gadget.
FYI: 3M adhesive does NOT work on vinyl or dash material. Ned to mount underneath on the steel or plastic.
Love your tests. So chilled and well tested. A pleasure to watch.
The lights have a little IR sensor you have to point at. Not sure where it is, but if you find it that should work.
No
@@zipzip8239 That's what I figured. The first thing I thought of was just using a simple cooler.
And a cooler is better since it has a lid. This product is just dumb.
A small $3 trash bin would work great too. Just use a black shoelace to hang it up.
4:32 the passenger in the back seat during a crash " *chuckles* I'm in danger"
Just loop the store bag handles over the shift knob on the passenger side and boom, instant "drivebin". ;)
Hi James, great video as usual. I do have a question for you. Not sure if they are available but have you tried the EZ bed or the Yawn air bed? They are both inflatable as seen on TV. beds. I would love to get your views on them because I don't know which one is better.
Sorry forgot to mention that they are available in the UK, but wasn't sure if they were available in the US.
My Ford comes with ambient lighting in the cupholders. I love it.
Theres a ir reader on one of the lil boxes hooked to the lights check it out point the remote at the 2 boxes and it will work theyvare supposed to be mounted with the extra sticky tape i had them on my motorcycle few years back
Trash bag position is better as a vomit bag for backseat driver.
That's what it reminded me of.
Anyway thanks for your awesome videos and best regards from Finland!
lol...."this car was just cleaned!!" 😂😂....😐
Do u have to use another super clean to clean the original super clean ?
All you need neon light wise is a neon light license plate frame. Stick 1 under the both front seats and the lights will light front and back ;) I had over 700 LED neon lights on my show truck back in the late 90s early 2000s
How carefully did you test the remote? Those types of remotes, which I'm pretty sure use IR, require line of sight with the receiver, and generally need to be fairly close (like, a meter or two at most). I have an LED setup in my bedroom with several separate devices. The receiver is probably in the boxy thing, but I'm not sure.
When applying adhesive in a car interior always clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol before applying some kits contain alcohol wipes in them!
Haha “I get told I do everything wrong ...This dude jams harder.
I keep eyeing those air mattresses on Amazon... thanks for reviewing one of them. After the eviction moratorium ended, homelessness in my city (Charlotte, NC) went up by 55% in just a couple of months. I bet I'm not the only person who's been giving it the side eye, and thinking long and hard about it investing in it.
love the lighted coasters and the air mattress!! another great video. i freakin love freakin reviews!
Your reviews are the best because they’re actually real life scenarios.
I used to drive to MA a lot from Georgia, and that car air mattress would have been excellent to have. Sleeping in the back seat isn't the most comfortable thing in the world.
