OG originals.... Whites have always been preferred even now, pinks ex came later and are not really used in comp. I do not remember those foams... however think they were narrower but a little short like that. OG rovers like 2008, Ex was 2010 i think it was, construction of the carcass on the ex just caused it to not perform as well. These became more popular over the cougars just because they are taller and we only had straight axles. Great tire to buff and cut foams in that 6lb range or much softer foams on a sub 5lb rig. Cut and narrow also works great if required. I mentioned the white dot rovers in the LP rupture test :) Great to see you have a set to test and enjoy, sounds like more will be purchased... Amazing testing as always !
Panther Cougars are a bit smaller than this, but you can get them anymore, so this is the only proper alternative. What about Rovers on the Cougar magic foams? They might be undersized tho, but who knows what the japanese milkbread can do... Rovers get 3rd place, tied with Lampreys. 52 bucks vs 60 bucks a set respectively. Two different tires for two completely different rigs IMO 23rd place for price/performance tho, if you cost more than 40-50 bucks, doesnt matter if you score a 100, you arent going to make it to the top, thats the place for tires that score between 90-95, but cost 20-30 bucks a set. Thats why the price/performance is complementary to the main list, 3rd best are fake Blackrocks, they scored just a 93.4, but cost 26 bucks a set /same as the Injoras, but those scored higher)
These are my favorite tires and I own Ruptures, 5.25 Tusks and Panther Cougars. I have them paired with Not Foams (thingiverse) from Just Scaling,. Work phenomenal where I crawl in North Texas.
Glad to see your inner Owen Wilson come out during a tire review, It reminds me when you go to a movie with poor expectations then get your mind blown....
i've had a set of each for a while....ran them white rear and pink front thought it was ok on a class 3, but at the time the width wasn't working for me. I guess time to dust 'em off! * difficult to mount on stock inserts. We will never do that though. we will print our fav inserts at the width we want and enjoy rocks.
Is it bad I'm going to buy a set of wheels for these tires?😂😂 I remembered boom racing has extra wide wheels :) 43mm wide ring on these sounds like an amazing time. Hmmm! They sure performed amazing though I was worried with the pink ones at first. Seeing that made me not look at either. I better get a set before everyone finds this video and buys them all😂😂
Have you ever had the privilege of the EX version? They have an even more nightmarish double lip on the inside! Just breaking in my first set, so far so good. Edit: I posted this at the bench, you then talk about the EX later in the vid. Did you know this white dot version, also had a pink dot version that wasnt EX? Also, these were the go-to tire for comp crawling back in the day. By far one of my favourite tires! The comp guys would mount them on super duper skinny rims and shave all the sidewall details off, it made them even more compliant and grip even better than they already do
I wouldn’t exactly call the predator compound a cold weather tire. Proline recommends them for below 70° and the G8 for above 70°. Which in reality for me on Missouri limestone and granite the predator is better everywhere than G8 no matter the temp.

Yeesssss!! I’ve been waiting for this video forever!

They were a cheat code fifteen years ago and they still are. My favorite 2.2" tire...no doubt. Somebody should send you some 2.2 Sedonas to compare.
@13:30 rant. So true. Hell yeah. 😎
I have Both Pink and white. As well as the Panthers. The white out performs both on the slick rock here in southern Idaho. Still no Ruptures though.
For Hotbodies (HPI) not to bad a a performer considering you have a sofa couch stuffed in the carcass🤣
FOAM SO BIG... but also seemingly not big enough. Can't deny the performance, though.
I'm telling you about these tires for over a year! 😂
They have the same lug as the new Rhino Moza 2.2
🤣love the rant, I have white dots on my wraith, it loves them

Also have DLux Goats on hand too
This. 100% The only thing I'd want to see is a narrow version. Hands down, Rovers slap everything else like they're red-headed step-children.
Howdy
I want to see these on Ghost rover!
I think I WOW'd more than MR. C!
Oh man. I still drive my Losi comp crawler with some 10+ year old Rovers in white!
Love the white dot rovers. So good.
And Crawler Canyon is spending my money again. You know Mr C, Mrs C was right, you are an influencer! But for that I thank you!

Wagwan Canyonaeros 👊
Nagwan Neil.
So Pink is better than White like X2S3 is better than X2SS - because we market it that way.
It sure seems that way here. I to test the pink against the white back-to-back, because my memories of the pink are this good.
Evening!
Howdy
I'm gonna try get you more subs because you deserve it. Such great content and i very much enjoy listening to you and watching while tinkering.

Tusks and landmines are my toughest to mount
WIth bubble juice, all JCon tires are rendered easy. I can mount package-fresh Tusks on any set of wheels without a single popped bead, every time.

There's even a red version! I never had any issue mounting the pink EX, no idea why. These fought me to the last.
Also pink dot, the EX, is for cold weather, kind of like predator compound

@@chevyon37s ok, predator is for cooler weather. The pink dot rovers were designed for cold weather per their description.
