One of my favorite songs of all. If I close my eyes I can see my momma at the kitchen sink with suds up to her elbows . I can still hear her singing to the top of her lungs. One of my most treasured childhood memories. Thank to The 👑 of country! I love you Loretta!
This is what's called singing with feelings...……..
She is the real deal , country to the core.
Many people may not know that Loretta had many songs that the radio executives felt were too controversial for the time period...this song was included. I guess you can listen to the lyrics and potentially understand the metaphors that had radio's stations concerned, but we know that Loretta was just being lyrical and not controversial.
A lot of the so called " moral majority" would have been the first in line trying to hang her wings on their horns.
"with your sweet smooth talking ways, you turned a flame into a blaze" It doesn't get any better than that!
As a baby my mom had Loretta Lynns greatest hits album (I was born in '63)when I was asleep she would have to play it with record player by my crib over an over again or I would wake up crying when it stopped. She wore it out!!! I have loved Loretta all my life ever since.and people say I sound like her when I sing.love her love her!!!!
I sing her songs all the time..
pray for her she is hospitalized in nashville of a stroke
@@toosexy7955 i love, and have a special place in my heart for Loretta Lynn

I went to Toronto to see Madonna this September, and what a bonus...Loretta was playin there too that same weekend. Of course, I was there!!!! If u ever been to a Loretta show, she let's the audience pick the songs she sings. Well i tried yellin out this song, but I wasn't heard. So that was my second Loretta show. I had no idea she was gonna be there, and it was awesome of course. Thnx Loretta...you rock man.
Just how good is she.
note that first few seconds before she starts to sing----- her eyes, charming indeed!
+Don Hawkins She was an absolutely beautiful woman. I just reread her first book and I can hardly believe that she didn't see that and though she was nothing special. She is very special indeed.
Loretta is the best
Want a beautiful and powerful voice!

Can you believe that this song made Loretta's producer, Owen Bradley, uncomfortable with the potential meaning by some of the lyrics? I am not sure if this was one of many songs that Loretta recorded which banned from radio play, but it did well with the fans and music charts.
The lyrics "layed my wings upon your horn" refers to the loss of virginity may have been why he was uncomfortable.
RIP Miss Lorretty
The lyrics are quite something.
Amen
Female hank sr she wrote them then sang em
She is genuine. Her songs that she wrote were proof of her wisdom beyond her years.💜
Y’all see how far away that mic is? What a powerful voice.
I don't honestly think I could pick a favorite Loretta song, but I can tell you this was always one I would listen to over and over again, what a beautiful voice and a great song writer
Thank God for Loretta Lynn and so many other singers that sang back then.

All these old Hee Haw shows are so great. I'm so thankful that the RFD network is airing them in the order they first aired. Classic LORETTA LYNN at her best. Long live the "Queen Of Country Music."
I love how she didn't care what anyone said she would sing what ever she wanted and people didn't like it well she didn't care. I love her because of all these controversial songs. It makes her the one and only Loretta Lynn.

Love you Miss Loretta!!
She is so pretty!!
this is a song I never heard
Bless her heart! That song is about the nights her innocence was taken without any disregards that to her feelings or of it being the first time that she had ever been touched by a man. Her experience doesn’t paint the ideal wedding night we’re married at , but her songs were able to paint a picture that makes you feel like you witnessed what she was singing about first hand. She reminds me of my grandma, they both were married at 14 yrs old, and my grandma was born and raised not too far from where Loretta was raised. My family were pickers and singers of music, and my Uncle Lambert Livers played the fiddle up until his last few years, even entertaining Rascal Flats Band in his front yard, in Marion Co. KY!! I digress, Loretta and my grandma are a dying breed of woman, they were strong, independent, took care of business and didn’t ponder over it, bc they didn’t have time! They were taking care of kids, house and farm, and working to support their family! They both stood firmly on their marriage vows, and made sure that other women understood that there wasn’t enough to share! They loved their husbands, and their husbands loved them, I even think that in their older days they came to realize what sacrifices their wife made for their family, and what a good woman they had all along!!
I hope that I can go to visit Loretta’s place, and it would be the most wonderful thing if she was there, and I could give her a hug. Loretta is one of the most amazing women I know in all of history. She exemplified what a real woman is, and she set an example for those who followed behind her. She remained classy, and didn’t sexualize herself, or allow the record labels, or Hollywood to distort her image, or what kind of woman she truly was and is, as of today! God bless and watch over Mrs. Loretta Lynn!! And God bless my grandma! 🤗💕😇

People talk about this was a time when count was country.Today country is still country people have a problem accepting that you can only do something for so long before you gotta change it.You can only make so many songs like this before every song start to be a repeat.
