I like it, I too have several Tiger Bark Ficus that I work on on my channel. It’s going to be nice to watch it develop more over the years. One question though, with all the very nice bonsai that you have what made you choose this tree to be the cover of your book?
Hey Jeff, that is a very good question. Since the book is geared mostly towards beginners we thought it would make more sense to choose a tree that is very approachable.
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply Its ok i do have a question about my ginseng ficus. I live in wv and it was out in the rain and the bottom part of the truck rotten. I cleaned it up and put cut paste but how long should I wait to water him again and how often
@@noneofuourbusiness please feel free to tell me about the soil. We are always trying to improve 🙂 Once you cut the trunk, there was no need to put cut paste on the cut surface. I would go ahead and pot it. Place it in full sun and water only when the soil appears dry.
@@WeareTheBonsaiSupply ok i didn't see when I ordered you guys sent the showhen soil then I ordered off esty for what I thought was the same but it was the all purpose soil. I forgot I mixed some of your soil with another kind. I really enjoy your soil and my trees do too but im struggling with ginseng ficus
Hi Jerome, another great video, your work and sharing is very much appreciated. The original ficus ‘soil’ appeared to be in really good condition, particle size etc. my question is do you reuse it and how, is it treated, heated up, left to dry etc? 👍🏾✌🏾😎
Great steps forward for the tree!!
Thank you Nigel! Little by little. :)
Nice sharing videos 👍

I've gotten soil from you guys a few times and the soil has been different each time.. also the new white rocks are turning green
White rocks turning green is normal.
Hi, I’m not sure what you mean by different each time, different how? Also, the pumice turning color is completely normal.

A friendly warning; all Ficus trees are potentially quite allergenic from repeated sap exposure.
What soil are you using for ficus? Thanks for great videos from denmark
Hi thank you! We use our all purpose bonsai soil. thebonsaisupply.com/products/professional-bonsai-soil-mix

Hey Simon 👋🏻 great question. I dry the used soil in the sun and then reuse it for seeds, seedlings, cuttings and pre bonsais.
What season and time of that season is the best time to defoliate the ficus?
Hi 👋🏻 summer is great 😊
Buongiorno che tipo di terriccio usi?
That pot was to tick for that tree. You should had just taken the fort pot jerome! 🤣
Hi! This isn't a final pot for the tree. Instead I'm using it as a training pot. :)

Hello my friend. What is the scientific name of this bonsai?thank you!
Ficus microcarpa "tiger bark"✌🏽
