Once again CWM raises the standards of automotive finishing and challenges the most accomplished car builders. Absolutely amazing work and craftsmanship shows through on every piece be it steel, fabric, plastic, paint, wood or polish. Not to mention mechanical knowledge. It was a pleasure to meet you and Stella Scott, and to see headquarters. Keep up the fine work you guys do and thank you for the hours you spend on the videos. There are many who enjoy them. Cheers!!
Hey thanks Joe! A treat to have you stop in. Just trying to get in as much goofing off on cars as I can... Now to go try out my "new" welder today! Cheers!
Agent 303 is a riot! I love watching all you guys working and helping each other, looking forward to warmer weather and a possible Ford making it back on the road next year. As always great work and looking forward to the next project.
Scott this truck is perfect blend of necessary repairs to be serviceable and keeping the original paint and even bringing out some the lettering, so cool. A suggestion for keeping the old paint finish would be a kerosene rubdown as required, a friend of given a 66 plymouth fury by his uncle, was corrected when he soap washed his uncles good car and learned a good way to keep his given fury from further corrosion.
Hey, thanks for saying so... I'm happy with the way the whole thing came together. The old paint is so interesting to look at, and the box was really in excellent condition once we got it cleaned up.
The craft of your works continue to blow me away. Everytime I watch one of these episodes, I drink to your considerable accomplishments. Now I've got to cut down. My aging Husky, now 13 years old, sends her compliments to Stella.
I'm more stingy with thumbs up than I am with $. I never thumb up a video before I watch it. But this channel allows me that luxury. Thanks again for bringing us along and WOW! That bed looks so sweet! Give Stella a big hug from all of us, your loyal viewers!
Really a super nice work of preserving the truck, and it's history. There are enough over restored cars already. This is the only channel that gets a thumb up BEFORE watching the video!!! I'm a fan. Stella did great too. She is a sweetie.
Brother, this is a well earned thumbs up. I have been an automotive detailer since I was 16 years old and I had my first job in the automotive business. I am terrible at any sort of autobody or finishing work, but I painted my 500 whp Honda Civic coupe with Nason DuPont paint, a 3 gallon roofing compressor, and a $30 Walmart HVLP paint gun out front of my garage in my mud and gravel driveway and it came out awesome after I color sanded and buffed it multiple times with different pads and finishing chemicals. It went from New Vogue Silver Metallic to Electron Blue Pearl and I have been in love with it ever since. Everyone else loves it too. My only problem was when I attempted to cut the only rust that was in my quarter panels out and replace them with patch panels. I got a little overzealous with the welder and warped the thin sheet metal underneath, and my inexperience with bodyworking and the fiberglass filler felt smooth to the touch, but it was wavy and the paint shrunk and cracked, so I have been in the process of replacing the patch panels and I have had the help of a bodyshop experienced friend helping me to smooth the filler so that I can repaint the quarters as well as the B and A pillars. It's been killing me brother.
My point is that the bed came out amazing and I wish I had the help of someone like you and your friends that could finish my quarter panels in a day or two and make them look factory fresh.
I almost forgot how cold it was as winter was coming to an end. Brrr! Stellar work on that box, and the whole project really! I gotta swing by again one of these weekends coming and see what you're working on in real time again!
Thanks for saying so... All the best from us here, and Stel, of course. Warmer weather indeed, but the rain this year has brought a bumper crop of mosquitoes! Ack.
Wow!! You guys just get with the program. That wood DID come out looking like a guitar finish or better. I have to do that for my 29. I have had the new repro bed for over 20 years with a oak floor. I'm sure it won't look like the "glass" finish you produced. Very, very, nice!!! You guys have become masters at dealing with the failed parts/aspects while maintaining the "vintage" parts that are still viable to end up with some really pleasing and desirable products. Thumbs up to you all !!!
Hey thanks for the kind words... I wasn't sure if I should put up a woodwork video; I'm glad I decided to film it and show everyone. This was a unique project and one I'm fortunate to have been allowed to have some fun with, and make something a little different without doing any irreparable modifications to the vehicle. Cheers from me and Stella and the fellas!
Outstanding installment from my favorite channel on UA-cam. Thanks again for allowing us into the shop and explaining what you folks are up to as you're working. If I could send a case of beer and a bag of herb through this comment I would. Cheers from New York!
Wow, that turned out amazing! Once again, I'm amazed by your skills. I'm definitely looking forward to the "Will It Run?" series, those are always awesome
I've been at minus 25 deg C in Mongolia, it's f...ing cold outside at those temps ! love this build guys, hey ! ( I'm an Aussie...lol ) :) and a hug for Stella too :)
Wow, the end result is stunning! You guys have a remarkable gift for bringing forgotten artifacts of yesteryear back to their full glory. And that is just amazing! I too have been working on my own carpentry projects this past week, but nothing as extravagant as that truck bed. Amazing job! -Nick.
Scott, On the cover of the August 2017 "Hemmings Classic Car" is the featured car a 1956 Ford Parklane 2 door station wagon. She is proudly wearing a KARGARD! You are clearly trend setters. Proud to know you, Agent P-15.
Back in the 60s before i could own a car I built model cars, one of them was a model A wrecker, I was going to enter it in the NM state fair cub scout division for models, and it just needed something, I was looking for another model to build when I saw a snap together Jag XKE, bingo I took it home did some body work with a wood carving pen and hung it off the back of the Model A! Won first class!!
coldwarmotors Your vids take me back to youth in NB. My first car was 71 Impala. Only 5-6 years old with 99k miles. It had a 350, Quadrajet (270 hp.) and a light rod knock. Four snow grip tires (cheapest tires I could find at age 16-17) and a floor so rotted that it sagged and pulled on the E brake cables. I removed the cables. It got 20w50 oil and a can of STP along with a Hush Thrush muffler that droned so loudly that it was like an ice pick to the head. Drove it two years and saw 112 mph (indicated) on 4 worn snow grips. Great car. Always started easily. Used a quart of oil every 7-800 miles. I sold it for $ 400 to a friend who wrecked it within a week to buy a 2 door 72 Skylark with 350 for $1500. One owner (a lady) with 55k miles. Excellent car. Dissolving from within due to rust. Only 6 years old. Power steering and non boosted 4 wheel drum brakes. You could quickly pass 110 mph but you couldn't stop it even with all new brake linings. I had all four brakes smoking quite often. Good times. Keep up the great vids! Thanks again from a big fan.
That truck bed is anything but "same old shit" Another CWM masterpiece !! I like how the patina of the outside misleads you to what's on the inside. Stella was tardy. Tsk, tsk.
Nice work! I love to see the history of the cars preserved. You are the best channel on youtube! The will it run videos are my favorites!
Thanks for the kind words; we are having a lot of fun with this kind of thing... Next "Will it Run?" is getting edited now!

Outstanding, stupendous, a credit to all concerned
Hey thanks; glad you liked it! Cheers.

The polish job on the original paint did my heart good.
Hey, thanks for saying so... I'm happy with the way the whole thing came together. The old paint is so interesting to look at, and the box was really in excellent condition once we got it cleaned up.
Hiya Fellas, and of course Stella. I love that truck, it is gonna be sweet! Thanks fer the video.
Thanks! More of the Model A truck project on the way!
The craft of your works continue to blow me away. Everytime I watch one of these episodes, I drink to your considerable accomplishments. Now I've got to cut down. My aging Husky, now 13 years old, sends her compliments to Stella.
Hey, thanks for the note and the kind words; we had a lot of fun with this one. Hi from my best girl Stella!
I'm more stingy with thumbs up than I am with $. I never thumb up a video before I watch it. But this channel allows me that luxury. Thanks again for bringing us along and WOW! That bed looks so sweet! Give Stella a big hug from all of us, your loyal viewers!

Thanks for saying so... All the best from us here, and Stel, of course. Warmer weather indeed, but the rain this year has brought a bumper crop of mosquitoes! Ack.

There are fine piano's that don't have that good finish. Wonderful job as usual..................Jay
The work on the floor is amazing. Can't wait to see the next Ford Model A truck restoration video. Give Stella a treat for being such a good dog.
Hey, thanks for checking it out... Next will be the work on the fenders and hood...All the best from me and Stella!

Hey, thanks for checking it out... glad you guys liked this job; I am fortunate to have friends that will indulge me this kind of nonsense. Cheers!

This was a very cool video, i had no idea you could do that to wood. Great job and thank you for sharing this project with us.
Hey, thanks for checking it out... Glad everyone seems to think it was a cool project. All the best from me and Stella!

Nice work, as always. On the truck bed and the video . Editing is a time consuming process but it shows in the results. Much like the truck bed.
