Awesome setup. Question I have a marantz pm 8005 integrated amplifier. Can I connect that tube buffer from the marantz pre out back into its power amp direct in connection??
Sounds good even on crappy UA-cam. What are the M-Ls off the side you didn't mention? Good to see others systems and setup tips. You can never know everything! In Oz mains conditioning is less important unless you are in the CBD areas, our 240v is pretty reasonable. Not much room treatment visible?
Bruce Mibus SL3s are on the theater. Condo living leaves little room for room treatments. The tree and bookshelves do a great job of diffusing for now. Thanks for watching! 👍🎼✨
max casci you can. I have it preouts to in on the integrated amp so that all inputs get the tube effect, just like a real tubed preamp. It works VERY well 👌🎼✨

bmahoney1568 it was a long time ago. But I need something more sturdy to be honest. It has warped a small bit through the years. Thanks for watching! 👌🎼✨
zerocapacitance1 Good question! We can ask that in many areas of the trades. Why are light weight rims, high flow exhausts, and adjustable coil overs not on all sport cars from the factory for example? Some think the car is fine stock lol. If studios thought all recorded music sounded the same, then why do some use B&W, and some Genelec? Why mix on a DSD board instead of PCM. Why have different levels of equipment with different quality power supplies and boards, it's just all 1&0's right? However Stillpoints & line conditioning is used in many studio applications I have seen. I truly don't try to validate why someone else should spend their money and passions in our hobby. Or what works or doesn't. I simply share with others who are curious my personal findings and I leave it to others to repeat these observations on their own. Remember this disclaimer, as it validates both sides. "Any difference perceived, there or not, becomes real" Thanks for watching! 👌🎼✨
So much money spent but no sign of any attempts at acoustic treatment? Those speakers are pretty close to the back wall and would surely benefit from bass traps behind, no?
Mr B Speakers are 7 feet apart and 3 feet from the back wall. The tree behind the left speaker, and audio shelf behind the right are great diffusers. This is a condo, so no room for anything else. Thanks for watching 👌🎼

@@vpconcepts9838 no problem man. I very much injoyed it! Did you end up adding a digital side, or stay analogue? I personally like that you didn't add streaming. Anyway yes very nice system.
We have the same headphone, the Sennheiser HD 650. I don't own any expensive audio equipment. I connect my laptop to an audio engine DAC and amp the signal using little Dot hybrid tube headphone amp. It's an inexpensive set up. The HD 650 more than makes up for the inexpensive set up. Only downsize is I can only listen to music in front of my lap top.
Does it really make a difference keeping the cables off the floor? never heard of that, it seems a bit to much. Does this also apply to wooden floors like I have ?
ArtFartzy wood will not pick up static like carpet. Some say vibrations can be picked up in cables from laying on the ground. If anything I love the fact I can dust them easier! 👌🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 thx for replying, ill keep mine on the floor for now. Also it's such a mess with all my cables behind my tv/hifi furniture, I have given up fixing it. But then again you only see if you go and look behind so it's not a big deal. I did wonder though if it could affect the sound with the cables being so close together. The mess is mostly from the power cables and tv cabel.
Bonjour,Very interesting video and system. Could you tell me how do the Sonus Faber work with other kind of music than Jazz. Jazz rock, Jazz funk or my favourite style like Steely Dan . Thank you for advices and video.
According to me Steely Dan is not country music, Donald Fagen would be very angry.....I don't like country music, but i like Pearl jam and Pink Floyd too, that i listen very often. But, you didn't answer to my question. How do the Sonus Faber work with thess musics, with pearl jam for example. Thank you.
You misunderstand. I was saying that I personally have tried every kind of music on my Sonus Faber “except” for country. And all kinds of music sound wonderful to me. Including what you listed. 👍🎼✨
Thank you very much for your answer. I have to improve my English. In France we can't practice a lot, so it's sometime difficult to translate corectly. i'm happy to listen that Sonus Faber are OK on different kind of music, because most part of time those speakers are tested on Jazz. But i listen to Jazz too. Sonus Faber is now a real alternative for me. Thanks.
Bobby CALDWELL of course! I think you will be very happy. Thank you for the great conversation. The audio store I am consulting for is going to be a Triangle dealer. I’m sure you have heard of them since they are in France 👌🎼✨
Wow great system. I am just starting to build on my system. Everything I got is budget and garage sale. Some of it good ie: Dahlquist dq 20's, Technics sl-1950 turntable, Sony 4way tower speakers, old Sony intergrated amp ta-a411. Got all this for under $250.00. but your system reigns supreme, probably cost you a buck.

Love this set up. Very jealous although i suspect there is substantial placebo effect and overkill going on here.... Still love it but I could never use cable risers. I would feel foolish...
Good quality equipment, but sound room is bad.may as well have your stereo playing in a bathroom.too many places sound escapes your ear and out of door openings and windows.note speaker on each side of large window which is a terribly bad idea.invest in a sound room with sound panels then begin too hear a big difference in your music.
I hate to be negative, but when it got to positioning those feet under a power conditioner for better sound, all credibility was lost. Let's have a scientific explanation on how that works please. Also, I've heard of moving an antenna to get better reception, but elevating speaker cables always makes me face-palm. But I guess that's because I must be deaf. Can you say... "Placebo"? Spend, spend, spend, then be forced to admire, admire, admire to justify the spending.
What do you care what he spent his money on. If he likes it who cares. See all your comments read to me like a guy who all his life wanted this stuff but now realized that will never happen. So instead now your going to search out everyone and bash there system. REALLY WHAT DO YOU CARE!!!!

As a subscriber to your channel I'm pretty disappointed in you Craig. While I admire your pragmatic approach to audio, you don't appear to operating remotely in the same realm of gear that this fellow is. Obviously this man's system gives him a lot of joy, and its disappointing when others that are similarly passionate about audio attack others that are also passionate...ESPECIALLY when the attacking party doesn't have the requisite experience with the gear. If he's got the cash to play around with cable elevators, high end power and audio cables, and different forms of isolation, thats his business. If it makes a difference to him (placebo or not), that's none of your business, and shame on you for being so self important that you feel your opinion matters one bit. That said...I love your channel and you have amazing pragmatic content that was of great utility when I was starting out.

What are the dimensions of your listening room? The Sonus Fabers will generate a lot of acoustic energy, have you experienced any problems with reflections and standing waves? I like the idea of house plants as sonic dampeners for the corner of your room. What is the platform under your CD player? It looks like a wooden chopping board but I bet it is something a bit more esoteric.
Rave Snave The room is longer than wide. The room is pretty dead, of course room treatments would be even better but not really much room for now. The CD player base is a set of BDR cones with the wood block on top, then a set of still points that the CD player sits on. 👌🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 Many thanks for your reply. The tube buffer doesn't do much in this setup. If it's just a cathode follower then you don't even get that magical "tube sound" out of it because it has no gain therefore no even harmonic coloration. You might as well go for a tube preamp with a gain followed by a solid state amp.
Ventsislav Simonov Have you heard one of these for yourself? I have 3 sets I tube roll through the year. Each set makes a very different sound. When I take it out of the system the soundstage collapses & the vocals get dry. This is a wonderful investment. Check out the hundreds of reviews on Amazon. Thanks for watching! 👌🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. You're of course free to believe in whatever you want to and if it makes you happy I'm glad for you. I've designed similar stages for a small local recording company. They used them to "warm up" the sound of acoustic instruments up to a point where a 50 years old musician could not recognize his own violin. We biased the tubes to give high level of 2nd harmonic distortion + gain in order to achieve that. In your particular case this is just a cathode follower. Unless it runs grossly underbiassed it will add nothing to the signal.
Ventsislav Simonov Gotcha. So you've actually used this item in your system to make this assessment? Here's some perspective 👌🎼✨. www.audioasylum.com/cgi/vt.mpl?f=general&m=669002
@@vpconcepts9838 I have designed buffers based on exact same topology. It's the most basic design of all types of tube stages. I have used this kind of stage in one of my preamps to pair with my active Altec 604's. And with great results I must say. However of all possible tube stages this one gives you almost no "tube sound". It's a buffer. It has only one purpose that is - impedance matching.
Ventsislav Simonov Fortunately I was able to get great results using Tung-Sol, Shuguang treasures, and electro Harmonics. Very pronounced differences with each set. The Shuguang treasures stayed in. To each his own. Best of luck to you! 👍🎼✨

Check out the lks dh-004 dac with upgraded USB. I absolutely love ps audio but this thing sounds better than the Dave chord (I have demoed both) and holds itself right with the direct stream. A true steal of a dac at 1500 it will knock over 5-7k dacs (I have done it!)

Please explain why these tweak items are not found in the recording studio?
zerocapacitance1 Good question!

ArtFartzy separate the power from the audio from the video and that will make the most difference in my experience 😊👊🎼✨

Bonjour,Very interesting video and system. Could you tell me how do the Sonus Faber work with other kind of music than Jazz. Jazz rock, Jazz funk or my favourite style like Steely Dan . Thank you for advices and video.
Bobby CALDWELL I listen to everything except country. You should hear Pearl Jam & Pink Floyd. Liquid trance is fabulous too. I’ve been very pleased 👌

Andy B Do you live in US?
What are the dimensions of your listening room? The Sonus Fabers will generate a lot of acoustic energy, have you experienced any problems with reflections and standing waves? I like the idea of house plants as sonic dampeners for the corner of your room. What is the platform under your CD player? It looks like a wooden chopping board but I bet it is something a bit more esoteric.
Rave Snave The room is longer than wide. The room is pretty dead, of course room treatments would be even better but not really much room for now. The CD player base is a set of BDR cones with the wood block on top, then a set of still points that the CD player sits on. 👌🎼✨
