Had a central vac built into our home in 2003. Loved it for 15 years and never did us wrong. Tried a Dyson over a freshly vacuumed spot once and bought a Dyson the next day after what came out of carpet looking like we’d never vacuumed before. It pulled out not large debris, but an ABSURD amount of super super fine particles to the point the bin was full. Then ofc divorce and now I no longer have a Dyson lol.

I LOVE my V15 Detect. It’s so nasty and satisfying at the same time seeing all the fine dirt that a professional carpet cleaner and a Bissell left behind, and yet the Dyson was able to pick up. When the Detect senses dirtier areas, it automatically throttles up the power, and you can go over the dirty spots until you hear the vacuum throttle down.

Who is asking for triggerless vacuums, or displays of fake information about “particles you’re picking up”? Pure trash. Battery life literally sucks, and takes too long to charge. How about fixing issues instead of introducing stupid stuff features to your overpriced trash?

Buying a Dyson Vacuum was one of the best items purchased. Incredible suction and long life. I forgot about the filter/s for years in between year two and eight, so the motor blew up (my fault because the filter had so much dust in it). I got a new motor and filters (about $100), sat on the floor with a screwdriver, and took the whole thing apart. Really well made and great design throughout, changed the motor, replaced everything back into place, and it was alive again. Still running on the 2nd motor, about 14 years old. (DC19).

Oh I've had a different experience. I purchased the V11 Cordless and I've had to replace it twice.
First time was maybe 5-6 months into ownership, it would just randomly stop working with the button pressed in. We went through a bunch of fault finding and they suspected a battery issue and replaced the battery inside the unit but it didn't resolve the issue so later sent me a full replacement.
The replacement worked well for about two months and it failed also, it just wouldn't charge and kept indicating a low battery. I was then sent another full replacement and I've had that one for over a year now with no issues so far.
But I must say Dyson customer support was great and were very keen to sort out the issue and happily provided replacement parts and units for my unit. I am also fortunate that I live close to a Dyson Service Centre and was able to take it in for technicians to check and stuff rather than waste time sending off the faulty unit and waiting a long time for mailing process.
I would still buy another Dyson again.

@@dejy1 a great customer service department is in this case a band aid to the problem of low quality products that customers usually have issues with. I am sorry to hear that some consumers will continue to support a manufacturer of low quality products even after problematic experiences. How much time did you waste trying, returning, and retesting the replacements? In the larger scale, this is inefficiencies that no one is regulating. Everyone wants to reduce the number of cars on the road and their emissions, but is anyone looking at companies that sell products that have to be returned multiple times during their lifetime? Please, as a consumer begin to have some responsibility, you’re not just throwing your dirty money around.

Recently got a V15 Detect and it's great, though one of the things I wish it featured is a trigger "safe" as I'm often hitting it involuntarily. I don't like the on/off button solution as it's a bit unpractical, you have more control with a trigger and it's not tiring at all imo. The lack of a safe is the only defect I find with the trigger as not only is it annoying to keep activating the vacuum accidentally, but you also waste some battery life. Hopefully they'll make one with such a solution.

The trigger went on my v10 animal after about 2.5 years, probably because I squeeze too hard. I would prefer not having the trigger at all, so much so that I considered a different model. But with the price of these, and a quick $35 repair of my trigger I’ll probably hang onto my v10 for a little while longer.

One of the best things about Dyson is their impressive customer service and spare parts availability. Their designs are simple and easy to repair. You won’t need a repair shop. Just a screwdriver and a UA-cam video. I’m not saying that these things are fragile but sometimes we damage our devices. There’s even some aftermarket parts available. Want a longer lasting battery? I’ve seen upgrades on Amazon. Want some different attachments? Those are available too.

However I would like something a little lighter and smaller like the slim for when I need to use as a handheld like dusting furniture, or cleaning my car I could see where that red button and smaller size will come in handy. I would literally have to pick up bits of gravel (little tiny bits) with my hands, not to mention having to empty after every use, not to mention having to take it apart and wash out the inside once in a while. Dyson has always been a huge rip off, including the outrageous prices they charge for their cordless vacuums, and yes I have used the Dyson cordless too. The commercials made them seem like the Mercedes of vacuum cleaners and “prestigious” to tell people “I have a Dyson “ . I still have a self propelled BAGGED upright vacuum cleaner that’s will suck the hair off your b#))* and I don’t have to empty after every use, with a Roborock Q5+ self empty BAGGED to keep the floors clean everyday

Just soooo much for a vacuum cleaner. I like Dyson products and live just down the road from them in UK but I will either consider older cheaper models or alternative brands. I guess innovation isn't always everything.

1:00 lol at dyson or vacuum engineers. look at those particles being flung far from the head. the soft roller brush should die, it has too many disadvantages for the only benefit eating up larger debris

We like the V12 but WARNING! No replacement battery for V12 seems to be available. I guess once the battery goes out you will have to replace the vacuum. This battery has been out of stock for at least a year. Did Dyson do this intentionally? We just purchased the vacuum but am disgusted because we cannot purchase a spare battery as Dyson recommends.

Cool tech but give me an upright bagged vacuum instead as It will outlast this disposal appliance many times over.

I was wondering what happened to the V12. Why would they go from a V11 to the V15?

    • @timconnell5878
      @timconnell5878 2 роки тому

My guess is that Dyson marketed the v12 first to the Japanese market. The Japanese were the first to buy his technology.

They ditched the trigger because the failure rate was incredible. Too many warranty claims. Btw, warranty claims are not “hassle free” as described in your warranty.

Nothing but a total waste of money, the bin was always to small, this is a complete step backwards...... There is no problem with the v 15 apart from the bin being far to small,
And the largest version is to heavy...

Dyson is good for quick messes or a light cleaning of your home, but it will not last to clean your whole house, and if you have carpets don't even think about it, the battery life is like 6 mins on max. Miele C3 is miles better

@Tracy Belter So on my regular vaccuum it is ALWAYS ON while vacuuming-With the Dyson-you tend to let go of the button while moving from floor to funiture to walls or to another room and switching from high to low speeds-its not chewing up battery when it does that.Nice feature.

To me, Dyson isn't worth it. $600? Really? I have the Shark Vertex Corded stick vacuum, and I got it for a little over $200 using a coupon at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's the best Vacuum cleaner I've had. Picks up everything. Hair doesn't get tangled on the rollers. Sure, it's corded, but I don't have to worry about low power. It cleans great on carpets. Whenever I read, go to stores or online to see these expensive vacuums, I think to myself, is it worth picking up? I prefer to read and watch reviews as well as compare products to alternatives before buying. I want to get my money's worth and not have buyer's remorse when I find out I could've bought something better or the same for less.
