    I am planning my daughter's 3-month DIY photoshoot and the way you explained the lighting position is going to save me a lot of time from doing trial and error. Thank you!
    PS: Your daughter is super duper cute.

    Oooh my gaaahds! Your daughter is too cute. I may have glazed over some of what you said just adoring her. Anyway thank you for this. My son is coming next week and gonna do some of my own stuff. Got a Canon M50 with a Sigma 30mm(48mm eq) and a 105mm Macro. Have my diffused lights so now I know how to place better. Thanks again🤙🏽

    Amazing video, i wish you had stood far back so we could see the whole set up. I was interested to see the positioning of the strobe and diffuser in the room.

      Thank you for your feedback! We have another video where we show our lighting set up here ua-cam.com/video/I4v9sv6Tdlk/v-deo.html that might help you out! But we will keep that in mind and maybe film more of a behind the scenes or pull back in the future.We have a couple videos planned for the next few weeks where we will explain lighting a bit more

    Hi I just subscribed to your channel. I'm an applied business, visual communication grad. I was wondering if you are a certified NB photographer, If so how do you go about finding that class, I've looked on line, If not where do you start, to get that first shoot!

    Aww she’s beautiful! I found it helpful. My baby frowns a lot outside and in strong LED lighting.
    He looks like a different baby when he’s laying down and in warmer/darker lighting then when he tries to hold his head up in bright lighting.
    Also my apartment lighting has cool LED lighting, the walls look white yet everyone else looks tired. Any ideas on what we can do while renting? We do have a warm lamp which is helpful. I will look at your other video for your newborn lighting set up.

    Great video. Do you prefer a flash or constant light in newborn photography?

    • @MyBigCamera
      @MyBigCamera  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you! I prefer strobes. I've tried constants before and just prefer the look and colour temperature of the strobes. I only use constants for video

      Thanks! No I don't as I find that it slows me down. I just use the histogram on the back of my camera and adjust my settings based on that. The lighting for a newborn session doesn't really change much during a studio session so I keep an eye on my histogram and make changes if needed but otherwise my settings stay pretty much the same throughout the session :)

    • @MyBigCamera

      Yes it is. I typically use a strobe but for the video I used 1 continuous light

    Hi there! I'm a photographer but I've never shot newborn before. I'm expecting and was wondering about use of flash lighting with newborns? I have two Godex flash heads available to use. I don't own my own studio and normally rent one for client bookings but due to corona no one is open so I'm going to have to shoot my little one from home. Is it safe to use flash when working with a newborn? I know their eyes are more sensitive and I don't know if my studio lights would be a problem for her.

    • @MyBigCamera
      @MyBigCamera  3 роки тому +2

      Congratulations! Yes, studio flashes are considered safe to use with newborns and are commonly used in newborn photography. I would only use one flash for newborn photography. If you're still concerned, I would just use natural light from the window. You can also purchase a constant light if you don't like the idea of a flash going off. Hopefully that helps!

    • @EmmWood91
      @EmmWood91 3 роки тому +1

      @@MyBigCamera thank you that's great! I was thinking one light with softbox on at 45 degrees to baby head side as you showed here and big silver reflector on the opposite side of baby to reflect some light back to lessen the harsher shadowing from light source. Learned a lot from your video thank you for sharing 😊 Posing is going to be my biggest challenge I think 🤣 It doesn't look easy newborn photography is in a whole league of its own! Beautiful work by the way 😊

    • @MyBigCamera
      @MyBigCamera  3 роки тому +2

      @@EmmWood91 I'm glad that it helped! I would recommend using just a white reflector rather than silver as the silver would reflect too much light. Soft shadows are what you want and the white reflector works great for that

    Would this lighting still be okay for NB? I can’t afford the Einstein one yet :/

    • @MyBigCamera
      @MyBigCamera  4 роки тому

      Yes, the Einstein is great for Newborns. You can also try the alien bees which are cheaper :)

    It's nice and convenient when it's your daughter and she's sleeping, but in reality when does this really ever happen.
    A better video with your setup would be an actual situation when a baby is up and your trying to shoot the subject. Sorry, it's to staged a shot to give this video any credence.
