The Bizarre Case of Cara Rintala

- Cara Rintala and Annamarie Cochran lived in Massachusetts, and when one day Cara came home to find her wife at the bottom of the stairs, questions began. Questions about their marriage, which was difficult. And so began the trials of Cara Rintala, multiple which still go on to this day.

As a disabled/chronically ill person, I spend my time at home mostly and Mike has gotten me through many months of illness and depression, I am so thankful for the company ❤️ this is my favorite page by far ❤️
Can you imagine? You're going down the stairs, you trip & fall, knock over the paint, you're battered, but alive, you pick yourself up, & go back to the chores, but you forgot to tie your shoe lace, you fall again, knocking over the paint again, & somehow strangling yourself with your own shoe lace? Sounds plausible.
And the shoes came off whilst falling, yet the shoelace strangled you....
Happened to me twice this week alone
Only in hollywood!!! LOL
My pink paint that dries white is already on backorder.
911 says I can only wear velcro or slide on shoes because they're tired of me doing exactly what you said.
Spoiler Alert: She was found guilty today of Voluntary Manslaughter, carrying a maximum of 20 years......of which she served 7 already. Her sentencing is slated for 10/19/2023. The revoked her bail and took her into custody today. Many say she may get probation, but others say the judge may sentence her to the full 20. We'll find out on the 19th. Cheers, Mike!
Thanks for the update, eas about to Google it. Great time for me to be watching this ol’ video, then!lol
Anything new on that verdict ?
@@wonderXweapon12 to 14 years, with 7.5 already served, so in reality she will still serve 5 to 7.
It's messed up because she didn't do it!! If I were her when I got out I would prove my innocence and then get compensated for each year I was incarcerated!! Plus I think I'd start suing all types of people, anyone I could for all the damn money I spent on Lawyers!! Anyways I know not many of you may believe she is innocent but she is I'm telling you.. Our Mike sneaks in funny lines all the time 😂
There was a case a woman said she had super powers and then a xmen soundtrack came in, it was so unexpected I had a good laugh 😂
Mike says “for a third time” and CC reads “for a turd time”, love it when CC has an accent too 😂
Ps. I’m a “Newfie” from Gander, Newfoundland Canada, (“Come from Away” town of 9/11) we were the last province to join Canada (1949) my parents, grand-parents were all born before Newfoundland joined Canada. Our island was settled by British convicts in the 1700’s which were mostly Irish, us Newfies have closer cultural ties and accents to Ireland than the rest of Canada, and physically we are 1000 kms closer to Ireland than we are to the west coast of Canada (British Columbia) all this to say

I got the feeling she was guilty of something in the beginning when you mentioned she was calling her wife’s phone and repeatedly going unanswered. If you’re only running an errand, you’d think “meh, she’s probably in the shower or something” and leave it til you get home. Instead she left sus sounding voicemails pretending to be concerned. With the state of their marriage I have no doubt she’s guilty but proving that without physical evidence is tough.
Tbf it depends on the personality. I ruminate and worry so probably would continue to call until I got an answer if I expected there would be one. Not one after the other but with some short gap
Yeah. Very much over-playing the part. Circumstantial case, Mike's shaky alibi. Might be hard to convict. I definitely expect she's good for it - probably knocked her down the stairs, rendering her incapacitated, then throttled her. She did sound like an annoying spendthrift 'unt. But strangulation seems a bit much.

You have a special talent. I really shouldn't be laughing the whole way through a murder story.
"Rigor mortis-is-ed" That's what I'm here for, Mikes ground breaking scientific terminology. Lmbo. I love his humor so much!
There's a lot of random evidence muddying-up the crime, but the one piece you can't overlook is the rigor mortis evidence. If rigor says Annamarie was dead for a few hours, that disputes Cara's story of just running an errand after talking to her.
Yep, and I get a paint expert isnt a thing, but he wasnt exactly wrong. the stuff doesnt stay wet to long without at minimum a dryish layer on top. even in a puddle.
Exactly!
@@lexipersephone4880 That’s not true. Pools of paint can stay wet on top for hours and have dry spots underneath. A lot of factors go into how paint dries. Including the type of paint, whether or not it had primer in it, everything from the weather outside to the temperature, humidity, and air quality inside. It can all make a big difference. I’ve been working with paint my whole life. I have had works on canvas that had spots dry within an hour and other spots that take days, and it’s literally just how airflow is, and the temps, and type of paint. Even brand names make a difference, as each brand of the same type of paint are totally different from one another. The paint aspect is kind of ridiculous and impossible to prove! It’s all going to be easily disputed opinion. Also, I thought she ran a bunch of errands. She was out for a while. At least that’s what I gathered. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I figured she murdered her and then went out and came back acting surprised
And considering they always take ambient temp into consideration. You can't dispute it, edit, if it's done correctly. A Massachusetts lab was faking, creating false evidence, or not testing at all. Forensics is only as trustworthy as the lab,
Head's up...Retrial #4 started today. I live a couple miles from where this happened.
The voicemails left for victims by their murderers always seem to have a disingenuous tone about them, do they not? From Scott Peterson to Jodi Arias, to Cara Rintala....they tend to overdo it, and a lot of these "concerned messages" end up becoming pretty damning evidence. Thank you again, Mike!! You rock!!
Depends on whether or not voice and texts are in keeping with past behaviour or not.
💯. They also conveniently happen to be out running errand all day.
So many comments from delusional people claiming Cara is definitely guilty. You don't even care about justice; you're just in love with the idea of murder.
I agree. I know every relationship is different, but if my husband left me even one message just checking in and said things like “I’m headed to the bank, it’s 4:42pm. LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!” I would be like 👀

You'd think after 3 mistrials, a person could start thinking the prosecution can't prove beyond a reasonable doubt she is definitively guilty. If they keep at this same trend of outcome, there apparently has to be some reasonable doubt that's clearly in the way of a guilty verdict.
I don't think it's in the bedt intetest of the judicial system to keep trying and trying. It's a lot of wasted time and money. Knowing someone's guilty and proving it is completely different. I think u get 2 maybe 3 attempts, then f*ck it.
@user-ue1
Luckily we do have limits built into our system that prevents courts from wasting time and money. Unfortunately, there are really smart criminals who know how to take advantage of flaws and weaknesses in our system. Have you heard of Charles Ng's case. He was the 1st in CA history to have cost the court millions and millions of dollars because he knew how to delay and obstruct court proceedings. He eventually got convicted, but considering he was arrested in 1985, his trial didn't start until 1999. He somehow outsmarted a lot of prosecutors. And unfortunately he's one of those cases who've been sitting on death row for decades. Our Judicial System can be really screwed at times. I don't even know if Charles Ng is still sitting around waiting for his execution.
@@supersquirrel7546Some wrong info in all of that but yes his crimes were so severe and he did employ tactics to waste time. OJ Simpsons trial took less time and cost more in comparison though.
@o.hernandez
What the heck are you talking about? O. J. Simpson had money. He paid for his defense team. Charles Ng used California's court appointed defenders. A bunch of them. Your comparison is completely invalid.
@@supersquirrel7546 I didn't want to go through the errors in your first post but I basically agreed. What does having money or not matter? Its still rights given to you by the constitution and bill of rights. My point was that OJ only took a year and was more expensive comparable to Charles who was arrested in Canada actually not the states and took a decade.

OH MY GOODNESS!

I think its rare. But I do agree the " Paint Expert " should not have been addmitted.
However I find it a huge waste to keep trying one case until you win. Some DAs are petulant little piss ants.
The courts are ridiculous to keep allowing it.
I think she is guilty.
One day perhaps people will realize they can just get a divorce!
😉 Have a lovely weekend. 🌹
I think she’s guilty too but I am not convinced beyond a reasonable doubt with the evidence I have heard. They haven’t proved it.
stoked me too,4 trials.
You can have as many trials as your case ends in mistrials
I’m thinking if you need four trials you don’t have enough evidence and you are harassing the person at this point. I don’t know if it was her or maybe Mark….but I’m not convinced of anything beyond reasonable doubt.
She went for a nice drive to drop off bloody sheets, got back home, "found" her wife on the floor, then as a paramedic she decided to do nothing at all, then get someone else to call 911. Uhu.
Honestly, living with a Spending Monster would make me feel murderous too. Although of course if anyone feels so enraged at a person they need to leave. It is bizarre to me that anyone resorts to murdering their spouse or anyone at all.
And if divorce is an issue, it would be so easy to prove their obnoxious amounts of overspending & help to favor your side of the settlement
I'm also completely baffled by folks who tell their friends, "If I die, my spouse did it, even if it looks like it was an accident," and DON'T GET OUT.
Seriously. Hire a bodyguard. Buy some guns. Buy one of my personal protection dogs (not a sponsor). Go to the local police department with a handle of vodka and spray paint, explain the situation to them, and if rhey don't offer you protection then go outside and spray paint a dick labeled FTP on the front of the building while guzzling booze straight from the bottle. They'll probably put you in jail overnight. Boom, safety.

Several yrs ago my daughter had gotten herself into some trouble and spent 3 months in jail. She shared a cell with Cara and told me she was really timid and didn’t speak much. She told me she would never have thought this woman could have killed anyone. You know what they say though, it’s the quiet ones you need to look out for lol.
Exactly true,I did thirty days in a prison in Chicopee,ma ironically western ma,this one girl I got library books from was waiting for a trial for killing her boyfriend in a in a car,I never would have guessed it she was so sweet ,my counselor was hers too,and previous to my visit there was a documentary series done in Chicopee ,my counselor spoke on it saying this girl is so naive she doesn't realize how much trouble she was in,...she thought it was all a misunderstanding and everything would be ok...even I knew that she was in big trouble
Ok But just because a few killers were quiet doesn’t mean the rest are. And it especially does not mean that quiet people are murderers.
Thats called confirmation bias. You dont associate every timid person with murder.
So, so , soooooo very true!!!
I, personally would love to see a documentary on people, who murder their spouses/exs, of which they shared children with. Why, because I want to know how these idiots are feeling about their children being left without their parents...one from being murder/missing and the other in prison because they clearly were NOT, thinking about their children, only themselves and what they thougth they would achieve by doing so. Thanks for the up load.
1. They are so narcissistic that they just can't fathom the possibility they would get caught.
2. The kids aren't seen as children but as an object they can use for the end goal (like parents that have their kids "discover" the body or provide a false alibi, gross.)
3. They are just letting impulse/intrusive thoughts take over and don't think about even five minutes in the future let alone further consequences.
Not nearly on par with murder, but I just read a reddit story on divorce. He said he knew last Thanksgiving when he knew she wasn't going to bother so he went all out making the dinner for his 8 and 5 year old son and daughter. When it was all done and the kids were ready to eat and he asked if she wanted to come out of the bedroom to eat with the family. She came out only to throw the TURKEY in the garbage and he had to take the kids out to eat. Some people don't even care about their kids at all. They just care about hurting people. Hope that guy gets full custody.
Psychopaths are inherently narcissistic. Their inner dialogue convinces themselves they’ll get away with it. It’s not that complex to figure out.
I agree. My consistent comment on spousal murdered is that I'm so sick of people killing their children's other parent instead of getting a divorce. And worse their children. It's just unfathomable
@@hillarybillary21 The vast majority of murderers are not psychopaths, so your comment is irrelevant.

When she went to her neighbor and had him call 911 instead of calling them herself, I said, "Yep, she did it." It seems like people who have done this like to have someone else make the call to 911 because the other person can sound innocent on the call because he IS innocent. The perp is afraid that he or she will not be able to SOUND innocent so they would prefer for someone else to make the call. I cannot recall a single instance where someone has had someone else call 911 for them that they did not turn out to be guilty.
💯
Good point, but as she is a paramedic I would assume she would have some experience with crime scenes, and may not wanted to have touched anything because there may be evidence on anything. Same as her not touching the body; she should have some idea if someone is beyond help or not and knowing it might be viewed as a suspicious death??? I don't know, there is a lot of reasonable doubt.
@@disgruntledmum4916 Not really people have just grown soft in snowflake culture and allow murderers to walk
Also she had their little girl with her, I would have done the same thing.
First of all, this isn't a slam dunk case. The changing stories of the friend Mark & his attachment to her sleeping bag definitely make him a plausible suspect. Maybe he wasn't satisfied with being 'just friends', tried something & reacted badly after being shut down. That's enough reasonable doubt.
Secondly, i actually think what she did was reasonable. If i was with my young child & discovered my partner like that, & being a paramedic, i would want to call for help, but also get my child away from a gruesome scene that's only going to get worse with the arrival of EMTs & cops. Knowing that my child was secure, i could then focus all my attention on providing medical care to my partner & not be hampered by dealing with a 911 dispatcher. Also, if i had any suspicion of foul play, the possibility of that person still being in the home would motivate me to get my child out of there asap. Mind you, if the neighbour was a bit of a distance away, that might be less reasonable.
When I lived in the Bay Area a guy tried to stage his wife’s murder as a fall down the basement stairs, they lived in Palo Alto. He got caught. PS found it in Wikipedia, his name was Kenneth Fitzhugh and the murder was in 2000. As I recall they found blood on a wall upstairs via Luminol. I followed the case in the Palo Alto Weekly because a murder in posh Palo Alto was unusual.

Theres alot of circumstantial evidence but goddamn Mark is incredibly suspicous with his lying and his obsession.
and cat
It was the "Wife"
True but how could a stranger go back in and pour the paint later in time… it’s not cut clean to me
Yeah, it's like the wife makes total sense but why in the world did Mark feel the need to tell several different lies about his whereabouts that day? The sleeping bag thing isn't necessarily evidence against him, but it does indicate that at the very least he felt a much stronger attachment to her than casual friendship, or even close friendship.
@johnanthony9923Clearly, all of the evidence doesn’t point to the wife & the case isn’t as clear cut as one assumes as two different jury’s were deadlocked & the prosecution only won the third trial with the help of the testimony of a “paint expert.” Whether you think Mark is guilty or not bringing him into the equation creates reasonable doubt & guilt has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
Always intrigues me about the strength and determination it would take to strangle someone, 4 minutes (min) is a very long time to apply that much pressure and if it’s a crime of passion, it’s enough time to come to your senses.
Agree - the strength, determination and hatred (I don't like the word "passion" in such cases) that it must take to strangle someone to death (of course in this instance the victim could have been unconscious thus making it easier if the victim was not struggling). Nonetheless it would require a high level of cold blooded determination.
You'd also think the strangler would have scratches...
Oh wow! Can't wait to see what happens with her fourth trial! Thanks Mike for all you do ❤
If it's pink paint that dries white, i can tell you what it was. It's Glidden Ceiling paint! As I've used it, it does turn white in about a half hour when it's in a thin layer on the ceiling. If there's a puddle of it, it would take longer depending on how thick. In the can, it stays pink.

I'm not so disturbed that I would sleep in a deceased friend's sleeping bag, but there have been days when I have not been at the top of my game. Mike, your videos help me through those days ( there are too many I care to count.) Your humor and knowledge of the crime make your videos entertaining. You are very talented at what you do. Keep up the good work, and thank you for making a lot of your subscribers smile. I think I speak for many, when I say I look forward to tuning in 2x a week. Take care.
Is that disturbed? After my Pop died in his sleep I moved into his room/bed because my Nan was grieving and a bit spooked out living alone. I was 14 and if my Pop was a ghost, why would I be scared? I missed him too.
Carla is actually one of my dad's best friends his whole life. He just randomly clicked this video and realized he knew the case. This is crazy
Isn’t her name Cara?
🙈😖🤣
@@sisiscastle3573 perhaps she means the police officer Carla, (10:05) Annamarie had a short thing with?
Algorithms can be scary....
Who does your Dad think did it,? the fella with the sleeping bag and cat hair threw me🤔
They're always fighting. Cara just happened to be out of the house with the child when "it," happened. Repeatedly trying to call Ann to sound concerned and to create some kind of alibi. Motive, opportunity, definitely.
That wouldn't be enough for me as a juror. The multiple signs pointing to Mark are a problem too. Not enough to convict him either, but sometimes there are crimes where we just can't have the satisfaction of punishing the guilty party, because punishing the innocent would be worse.
Well she might have still been making those phone calls, right? And did she run over to the neighbours’ because she was afraid for her own safety?
One of the voicemails ended in 'luv ya bye' or close to that. Makes me wonder if given their current marital state, were they staying things like that to eachother normally.. or just in this voicemail to appear normal.
@@wobblyjelly345 obviously the jurors get a lot more details than we do…
Fact: same sex marriages have way higher rates of abuse
In all my hours spent watching That Chapter - Love you! - I can't recall another time when I thought the victim was a real piece of work. That's a lot of motive around one person, whoever killed her. (You know, they say there is a connection between how frugal you are and how emotionally available. It's often said by those who want more from you.)
Obviously, nobody deserves to be treated badly, much less murdered!
And NOW the weekend can officially begin! Love ya Mike! Love ya That Chapter audience! TGIF!
I know this case extremely well. Knew them both as they would come to hospital with patients back when I worked in the ER
So…is she guilty? What’s your opinion?
“He got cat litter, for his cat,I hope not for him “ laughed you tears 😂😂😂😂thank you, Mike , I needed it 😂
My husband hates true crime. But “give it a gooo” is a standard phrase in our house thanks to you ❤ (neither of us are Irish if that’s a normal Irish phrase?!?!)
Ps love you too
it’s just a Mikeish phrase, I feel like
@@sendthis9480 Always gotta have someone like this twat in the comments lol why you so angry dude? Maybe you need a snickers
Mike, the paint you talked about is a Primer/Finish paint. It goes on pink, and as it dries it changes to white. I used it to paint ceilings. I think the paint company was American Heritage. Thanks for all of your work on these videos. I've been subscribed to TC for several years.
Omg! I grew up in Granby, MA. Just texted my mom. She knew the family and followed the trials. Don’t know much more other then my mind is blown. Love you Mike!
Obviously there's not enough evidence to press charges against Mark, but his behavior adds too much reasonable doubt to convict Cara, in my opinion.
I agree.... I didn't want to until I heard/saw some of the defense.
My thoughts too!
I still think it was mostly likely Cara, but I totally agree! We didn't hear anything that ruled him out as her killer. I definitely think they were more than friends, and either he or Cara killed her because of it.
@@LKYme my thought was that he wanted to be more than friends and they got into a fight over it and he snapped. Explains his behavior afterward, sleeping in her sleeping bag for a month seems like guilt and grief to me
exactly! i’m leaning toward her being guilty but there’s a ton of reasonable doubt imo. the prior domestic violence & how volatile their relationship was paired with that fact that she had better access to the house makes me think she did it. i also feel like mark didn’t have as much of a motive as her but i can’t get over his odd behavior like the sleeping bag thing is just bizarre & kinda disturbing, he could just be an absolute freak & not a killer though! this is a tough one
Thank you for all of the videos that you make, we really appreciate your hard work and amazing humor
You're welcome
I do love hearing these facts of such horrific events by you Mike. Growing up in Western Massachusetts I can say that Granby is a quite town mostly a bedroom community. I have a feeling that this event will be talked about for generations to come. In almost as horrible as the Branch murder in Greenfield that happened in the late 1980s. If you read this Mike and have a moment you might want to have a go at it.
Divorce is a better option than murder. The debt would be split between the two of you, but you'd still be free, and she'd still be alive.
Yes! And even if you need to completely get away from someone and start over it's worth it and you can get hero Even if it takes going to a dv shelter.
No always easy though. The most dangerous time in an abusive relationship is when the abused party decides to leave. They are often murdered at the point of leaving or just after they have left.
You are correct but that makes too much sense for some people. 🤔
@@birgittabirgersdatter8082 that’s basically putting blame on the person who was murdered. The point is you shouldn’t murder somebody when you want to end a marriage, not that a murder victim should or should not have left for fear of being murdered. Just don’t kill people, it’s pretty easy
@@CantTellYou
She isn't putting any blame. Just stating facts.
Thank you Mike for this old video, from Saudi Arabia ❤️
Thank you so much for watching!
Your talent for storytelling and gift of gab never fails to impress me, especially during the intros. Plus your research is as strong as your accent. The videos get better every year; looking forward to many more!
I never thought I would laugh well listening to true crime, But Mike makes me. I feel so sad for the little girl she lost both her mom's
Omg Friday That Chapter videos start out the weekend!!!
Happy weekend!
Due to constant battles with depression I want to thank Mike for his reliability since there are actually times I don’t know what day it is. Tuesdays and Fridays are my reality checks.
Be well, Vicki.
@@parsleypalace3272 I really appreciate your kind words! Thank you & hope you are healthy and well also. ☺️
I hope you’re having a lovely Saturday, Vicki! Sending you all the good vibes for a happy day today! 🤗
@@Travelwiththetwins Thank you so much. Some days are better than others & your words helped today. 💚🫶🏻😊
My dad was a firefighter/EMT in the area, we live just outside of Granby. He was close to the victim, I remember it being really hard on him. Granby is only ten miles from Springfield, an hour max from Hartford, but it is as smalltown as it gets out here, my sister still calls it home, but nothing happens out there. Needless to say, this was a big news story for a long time. I should say most people around here believe Cara is guilty, there's some rumors behind that I would rather not spread unknowingly, but yeah. And the neverending drama made it hard on the loved ones, I saw that myself. Rest in peace Anne, nobody deserves that. 🌙✨️
Ooh but I wanna hear the rumors. 👀
@@Ashley__Rose I spoke to him about it after this video, actually. It was moreso to make fun of the fact that he mentions Granby is a nothing town because while it's actually mostly farmland and woods which makes it pretty beautiful tbh, we constantly harp on my sister for buying a house on a high up mountain in essentially the middle of nowhere. And he told me that he worked with both of them. That the rumors about her and Matt or Mike or whatever have never been proven to be true and from what everyone saw they really were only friends even if something happened one time or whatever. It's common belief that the two things are unrelated as far as him even being possibly guilty. That despite the charges being filed in the case only a handful of times, they were well known for having a very, let's say "heated" relationship and that, essentially, when people found out they knew right away who did it and why it probably happened. Essentially it's just a fight gone way too far and they both made a lot mistakes.
@@d3rrick10493 geez I hope your sister has a good security system with cameras then! I don’t blame you for harping on her.
Oh wow so some people don’t believe it was her husband who did it? That’s crazy! And the victim & her weren’t even having an “online affair”? 😧
You are the Best in all platforms Mike! I could listen to you tell stories all day! Loves ya!
🇨🇦❤️🇮🇪
I can absolutely believe it was overturned!!! This is a true wowzer!!😊
Hey Mike…just fyi that I’ve passed you down to the next gen in our family. Recently got my 23 yr old son addicted to your channel and podcast. I hope to get my Grandkids hooked one day too. We love ya! 💕
Mike: I don’t comment a lot on yt but the fact that you put out episodes a week and run a podcast is amazing and it’s always a bright spot when I get the notification… thank you sir!!!!
Thanks for being there for me when I need a crime injection and a chuckle!
Hey Mike i really look forward to seeing your videos. I’m actually a long haul truck driver and I don’t get into too many UA-cam videos. I have two that I try not to ever miss and I have friends telling me when to start looking for number one is you and the other is a fella named Drip Drop @ crime circus. I don’t know if you’ve heard of crime circus, but he also has awesome videos. Keep up the fantastic work young Man 🤘🤘🤘
@Truth Is Vegan thanks i checked in and i subscribed 🤘
A remarkably well-told story.
Bravo, Mike.👍💙👏🏻
I'm proud of you Mike for starting these videos and sticking it out! You're awesome, fun, and really put so much into your work. Ok... enough about you. Now where are those great insurance dances? They always make me smile. God bless, stay well, and congrats on all your success! ❤️
4 trials crazy. ❤❤❤ your channel. Thank you for all your stories..
Thank you, Mike! Always love your videos and now your podcast as well. Have a wonderful weekend!❤❤
I just don't understand why people try and defend themselves when they commit murder. I can't imagine living with the burden of that lie, especially a spouse.
The only thing I can say is I LOVE YOU MIKE!
❤Made my day as always! Thank you for being you!
Mike, you really are the best true-crime analyst and storyteller on UA-cam! Amazing stuff, every time. I know you put a lot of effort into this, and it shows!
Another great job Mike. Take care of yourself because WE LOVE YOU!
Mike your split/intros are to funny, so many of these I find myself laughing out loud even though the subject maybe/usually a murder etc, you are clever in your telling of these true crimes, you are just to funny, 😍
Tried twice and there was enough people who thought she was not guilty but the state was No we're gonna keep taking her to court until we get a guilty That is so messed up in its own way
As of right now, 9/30/2023, the jury has been deliberating for 10 days. They just sent a note to the judge that says no decision yet. They will begin again on Monday morning. It's really looking like another mistrial.
But they didn't all agree. That's the purpose of a jury.
@@VioletJoy She was convicted this time. Of the lesser charge of manslaughter though.
@@mckrackin5324 Yeah, I saw that! That's how I ended up back here again. Finally!!
That’s when you wanna question the jurors on how and why the deliberations took so long and who caved and why to get the verdict…Clearly there was not enough good evidence if mistrial after mistrial continues and then a looong deliberation and then they only agreed on the lowest charges. Something stinks a bit. I mean she is probably truly guilty but …proof is the key…
Well told. So intriguing, I watched twice. Thank you, Mike, for being such a talented narrator.
Thank you for covering this one Mike! I am just so confused and just wow with this one! As always, LET'S GIVE IT A GO!! 😊
Your editing is amazing; you have a distinctive style that I would recognize, and admire, as yours! Love from Nova Scotia!
Hey Mike, big fan and Granby resident here :) I don’t know a single person in town who didn’t believe Cara was guilty. Not only that, but Cara let her daughter find Anne’s body. Cara didn’t “find” it- she allowed Bri to be traumatized with that image.
I absolutely love how you cover theses horrible cases. You are certainly a GREAT storyteller!! Thanks Mike!! Have a great weekend!!!
Binge watching TF out of this channel - you are an amazing storyteller. And you make me laugh. 🏆
Whoa this is right near me, how have I never heard about it?! Wow. Will be interesting to see what happens in the Fall.

Thank you Mike for all the hard work you put into these Videos. I'm from Western Mass and remember the news on this
This poor little girl. Gets adopted out of a terrible system she could have faced only to have her loving mother murdered and her other mother one day go to prison. That's the first thing I thought when this video started.
Gosh same.
Poor little girl, being raised by 2 lesbians without a father. It should have never been allowed.
Since she was an infant, she probably would have been adopted by somebody else. And they'd probably be better.
@@Carlton_Wilson Why? Do you think all fathers are so great?
@@Ariadne76-k3d I know that all children need a father. Yes, having a father is far better for a child, any child, than being exploited by 2 homosexuals. No question at all. None.
Only mindlessly brainwashed useful idiots would disagree.
Yes I remember this case, it's in the next town over from where I live. Her story sounded fishy to me from the get go. The fact that she was tried 3 times was just crazy, because they have that whole double jeopardy thing. Yet somehow they were able to run her round the block a few times.
Double jeopardy only ever comes into play if you're found not guilty. A mistrial has no such restrictions, but a DA will usually give up at some point.
That isn’t at all how double jeopardy works in the US criminal justice system. If a defendant is found not guilty (which is not the same as an appellate court remanding a case or a mistrial), they cannot be tried again for the same crime by the same court; otherwise, yes, it would be double jeopardy.
On appeal, this case was remanded twice. That has nothing to do with a defendant’s guilt or innocence; it means the court made a legal error significant enough to impact the verdict. Again, the appellate court hasn’t declared the defendant not guilty. The prosecution decides whether or not to retry the case, as it does when there has been a mistrial. Both of those scenarios essentially void the trials.
Carrying paint downstairs IS legit super dangerous. My dad almost lost his foot from losing balance with a tray of paint cans and spraining it so bad, ONLY his achilles was still attached. He tried to sneak two different sized shoes out of stores for at least a decade it took so long to heal.
