Thanks Luc! I’m in your old stomping grounds today in Kansas City. Next time you’re in Liberty you’re really gonna have to come by and check out the store… lots of cool changes!!!!
Thank you so much Mark, that’s very kind of you to say! If you like, please share these videos on your Facebook & social media. We need help getting the word out about our channel. We would greatly appreciate that!
I like the idea of just The guitar and the amp. Les Paul for Les Paul sounds, Tele for Tele Sounds. Strat for Strat sounds etc. It’s at the top of the wish list!
I have a Sampson era Black Cat 30r from the very early 00's. It even has Matchless labeled parts in it. I'm not sure about the current Black Cat, but the early Black Cat's circuit is a slightly improved Matchless H-30.
Great demo! Thanks for putting it out. How do you think the head would do through a pair of Celestion Blues? I know the pat answer is that the amp was designed with the stock speakers in mind but the cab I’d want to use with it has a pair of Blues.
Hey Nate...no BS answer please...can this amp give you saturated, creamy style tones at bedroom volume? Or is another Bad Cat model better for this? Thanks.
Hey Thomas! When I think saturated, creamy style tones (Andy Timmons, Eric Johnson, Dave Grissom etc) the Badcat that facilitates that the best for me is the Hotcat. No BS 😄👍
Watched some of your videos before. I've been hung up on the bad cat black 30r for awhile. How does this new one compare to it far as clean headroom, and the ability to keep up with a hard hitting drummer. And do you know if they're going to be coming out with a handwired series of the black cat as well? By the way great playing and enjoyed the video.
Thank you for your kind words! Even though this amp is only 15 watts it stays pretty clean when you turn it up. One of the most under emphasized features of all Badcat amps is turning up the K master. It really comes alive when you crank that up. I cannot imagine that being insufficient clean with your drummer. As far as the hand wired series goes, those are not out of the picture. I’m sure these new innovations will breathe new life into the hand-wired series…
In my “humble opinion,” I think that this amp absolutely kills the clean sound’s however, if it’s an edgy to outright overdriven sound that you’re looking for, Bad Cat has a couple of other amps out that do that “much better.” That being said, I guess I am just going to have to get two! 😎
These sound great. I’m having a hard time picking one to use with my band 2 guitars bass drums and vox. I like the black cats voicing but worry about keeping up with the rest of the band, not at gigs since they are mic’d normally but at weekly rehearsals. Ideally I would prefer more character out of my cleans/grit and let pedals handle anything heavier. Any advice or comments I would surely appreciate. Thanks!
I think the Badcat cub is the one for all the folks who want a good clean and some dirt with character, but can’t decide between the Hotcat, Blackcat, and the Cub. The cub is the most “greatest hits” of the new Badcat line up. That’s what I would recommend for you. I think the black cat is a close second. The hot cat is for those who desire the most British/Marshall vibe out these. And for all of the heavy metal chug seekers, the Lynx does not disappoint.
Thanks Nate, appreciate you taking the time out to reply. I kinda answered my own question last night using a voxac15hw at practice and it was more than enough volume but allowed me to push it to a sweet spot easier. The cub sound intriguing , but for some reason the Black Cat is what I keep leaning towards, I was thinking that one would be closer to a Vox sound which is what I’m looking for. I thought I also read that the black cat was closest to the earlier badcat/matchless vibe, but that’s just here say on my end. You guys got anything going on for Presidents’ Day weekend in terms of a sale? I’m hoping to scoop one of these amps up in the coming days. Thanks again for your time and for the awesome content!
You sir are not only a good guitarist but also a great entertainer!
Thank you sir! I appreciate your encouragement.🙏
For a moment I thought it was Josh Homme😳
Great review and playing!
How have I not seen these guys until now?! A great amp review and ome ear-friendly playing to boot! Love it.
I like how you guys explained each amp. It put their whole line in perspective because they have something for everybody
Thank you so much!!! 🙏
From the very first note just 🤯 SO GOOD!

@@naterevolution I’ll be out there for a show in December and will try to swing by!
@@lucasheidenreich7861 you definitely should!!!!
You guys do the best amp demos, hands down. So, thank you for that. I'm really loving these Bad Cat amps.

@@naterevolution You got it, Nate
I like the idea of just The guitar and the amp. Les Paul for Les Paul sounds, Tele for Tele Sounds. Strat for Strat sounds etc. It’s at the top of the wish list!
As much as I enjoy using pedals, there is something very liberating and pure about guitar straight into amp. 🎸➡️🔈

Nice to Bad Cat kept the Vox/Matchless heritage through the revamp.
Agreed! John Thompson and company have done a great job with retaining the heritage of Badcat while still embracing innovation. Excited for them!👍👍👍
That’s a really great amp!
Thank you so much my friend! We're super impressed with this new line!
@@nashdude2 , you guys must feel real special being the first ones to review the new line. I know I would be!
It’s my favorite amp among these new ones for sure!
What a great demo of a fantastic amp! Killer playing too.
@@DannyBrooks1 thank you!! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment.👍
🤯🤯 you guys are killing it! Love these!
Thank you so much Brother!
Thanks my dude!!! ❤️🙏
Great demo! What's the mic behind the SE screen? Sounds killer
Hi Guys, thank's for the awesome job you did with these demo's!
May I know what guitar you used in the intro? Thanks:)
Thank you so much! That guitar is an LSL baritone T Bone. If you haven’t checked out LSL guitars, you should! They make FANTASTIC instruments.
Great demo! Thanks for putting it out. How do you think the head would do through a pair of Celestion Blues? I know the pat answer is that the amp was designed with the stock speakers in mind but the cab I’d want to use with it has a pair of Blues.
In my opinion, since this amp is the most “voxy” of the Badcat lineup it will sound great. British chime in all the best ways. 👍

@@naterevolution awesome, thanks for the info.
What is the mic setup? Sounds terrific!
Hi There! I used a Sm57, Rode R10 and a Warm Audio WA-87 R2 blended to taste.

Thank you so much my friend!
@@nashdude2 Thanks!
can the black cat be played at sensible volumes, so as not to make your neighbours shoot you, or is it strictly a gig amp?
You can 1000% play this at a low volume that is easy to talk over but still sounds fantastic. The magic of the K Master knob.👍

Two is definitely better than one! 😄👍
you need to crank the bass and see if it still stays distinct and clear.

This amp sounds like it can take pedals
You are correct sir👍
I used to hear a real Voxy tone with this amp and now, not.
these dudes do a great job. could take off if they stick with it!
