Another great video and thanks for this. I have been wanting to see an update to what's going on there. I appreciate the work you do documenting what's happening around Jamaica 🇯🇲
I suspect that the tourism product in St. Thomas will look a lot like the one in Portland in a few years. The new road infrastructure is highlighting the beauty of the parish.
@@raycapitalforex In the past there was no infrastructure to support this. This area looks completely different now. I believe you will see that level of capital investment over time.
Brain drain messed up this island our skill workers went abroad and we had to settle for what remained hence the spot we in now hence why the gov had to turn to China for skill workers
Engineers don't have an infinite foresight into the future. They have to adjust their projects as they learn more. There are a number of sea walls along the coast between St. Thomas and Portland. None are as fortified as this one and they have all survived several hurricanes.

@@raycapitalforexgood point as you have these people especially these dunce PNP have been pushing the argument that the plans announced was for a 4 lane but Andrew Holness government had a financial feasibility study done andnit was determined that it would be a financial burden on the people plus imposting a toll would not generate enough funds to pay for he 4 Lan highway as there is not enough volume of traffic. We see that now as all traffic is heavy only in the morning heading into kingston and heavy in the evening heading back to st thomas. The traffic I the day tome in both different is low thus people are highlighting how quickly it takes to get to and from st thomas in the day time.
@waynemcfarlane1233 So you see how stupid that plan was as there is not enough traffic between st thomas and kingston all day to generate enough toll money to cover this massive capital investment. At the time PNP was proposing to borrow the money from China and then impose a toll to repay China. Suffice to say the JLP who has a better understanding of money management came to power and reset that new debt that was to be leveled on hr already poor people of St Thomas. This rings hollow as it's a party that says it love the poor and my gosh they were gonna stick it further to the poor people of St Thomas. The other fall out would be the communities along the current roadway that be devastated by the shifting of traffic to this new highway. We see that problem in porus Manchester and that is a very small community when compare to the communities between kingston and st thomas.
this area was attempted to be rectify by by both parties..... the same dutty chinese who we cuss everyday end up have to do this after multiple local company did poor jobs at very high cost.... put politics and links aside and lets fix the dam road.
DVJ, Blessings 🙏Thanks for another beautiful scenic video.
Watching this channel is like taking a history lesson sometimes. Packed with knowledge. And let's not forget the scenic landmarks 5:30 ❤
Stunning views! I'm happy to see the additional sea wall.

I totally agree !!!

Many thanks
Jamaica has always been a beautiful place,we just need to design proper infrastructure and avoid constant repairing works
In the seventies there used 8:12 to be restaurants and beach, be warned , the sea has plans
Thanks for the outstanding footage of the area.
Glad that the progress is going on steadily
Fixing the problem is just not only about the structural design but also requires expert input from geologists.

Another great video bro
Shady spring is the exact location, within Roselle area..
There was a blue and white striped building opposite the waterfalls when I was a child. Does anyone remember it?
No
the amount of potential this area has me surprised no yachts no out there

This only begs the question why all this wasn’t considered to begin with given the increasing intensity of hurricanes since Gilbert in the 80’s

My concern is if this seal wall is not on pile it to will fail
What wall is a wall
They must try and built roads further from the sea shores. With climate changes we going to have many eroding of coastlines.

Why not four lane
It would be great if major roads in Jamaica had four, six or eight lanes but resources are not infinite.
@@dpark1964 not enough traffic to necessitate the need for a 4 way

The four lane highway was going to be built in the mountain range of the blue mountains.

The wall it too straight
a pnp councillor said recently that "this current road project is the worst in the history of Jamaica!"
