Tom is completely right about having to order the parts, and they take weeks to get to you because its the manufacturers lowest priority, and half the time its the wrong part because Ryobi is Ryobi, and then some one crashes their boat in the Suez canal and everything is back ordered forever, and then you get impatient phone calls from customers... Don't get a job at Home Depot.
Except that gas burner, I swear they copied the Pocket Rocket (not as pervy as it sounds) that I use exactly except they added a goofy light switch to it
When the lady wanted the light to flicker I thought it was the perfect moment to let the game learn the player about 555s. Nope just add another PCB that's connected by 2 jack ports instead of soldered wire. Doesn't even say they're called PCBs. The game seemed to go for 80's tech so maybe it was to let people play with THT. But nope. It was only for nostalgia. Felt like more could be done with this engine.
I mean, most of it was in there. Repair lady comes to town and fixes stuff for people. In the process she helps the mayor reconnect with his daughter and the sisters who own the cafe reconnect with each other. Then the cafe wins an award from the mayor. The story isn’t really that interesting. Very contrived. Everybody just sort of announces their feelings and exposits at you.
I love that Tom just skips over most of the story content because he wants to get to the fixing. Good video nonetheless, would definitely watch more stuff like this.
4:15 lmao I thought tom was just being a cheeky bastard when he started squirting the glue everywhere. I've been watching too too much call me kevin, spiffing Brit, or let's gamut out clearly.
13:38 alot of those videos have been in my recommended so much so I had to logout of youtube and check whether it was random or you managed to get it to pick from my own recommended
From your long video the other day, I got addicted to Tainted Grail. Holy fuck, what a game. Also, the music in it is absolutely incredible. Recommend++
Kid with a sobstory at the start of the fixing game. I'm gonna put money on that the protagonist fixes the little girl too by getting with the dad and being the new mom.
Not sure if you're still looking for games to play, or if you'll read this, but circadian dice is a fun game I recently found. (I've just been leaving comments about fun games I would like to see you play haha)
Alternative view, I'm kinda into the lack of story. I think it's more fun to just vibe and repair little things! But I see how it can be super personal and nifty to have one. Maybe a story mode vs assemble mode? Or just skip through like Tom
I had the same take as him honestly, if I'm getting a game like this it's because I want to obsess over complicated repairs. A good ambiance is nice, but at that degree it's intruding on the selling point
"Can you repair this deadbolt lock system? Please, it leads to my masturbatorium. It's VERY important to me. It was my fathers masturbatorium before me, and his fathers masturbatorium before him, going back 27 generations. This is the most important heirloom in my family and I NEED you to fix it perfectly. You probably never repaired a lock system as intricate as this have you? Yeah, I thought so. I bet you need the manual to know how to fix it, have you ever repaired a masturbatorium locking system before? ugh, I hate you, but you need to feel sympathetic to me." - story
Apple hates this game. Clearly a false narrative, the protagonist does not have a bandolier of 500 different security driver bits, I could not see a single glued in battery, and managed to fix the camera without using a mirror assembly comprising half a replacement camera, that cost 120% of just purchasing this year's model. Dangerous ideas indeed, what will people think, they actually OWN the modern devices they buy? *TsssSK*
Feels like to much cuts while repairing. I get it when it's Tom not getting something, but I do want to watch him screw every screw in a game like this. Otherwise it feels rushed and a lil bit frustrating.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 637 God, as soon as I saw this on the recommendations (I.e. the 1K comments XD) I was super hyped for it, and let me tell you it did not disappoint as this game was just great :D (I do wish it was longer though XD but that with every amazing game) XD can't believe Tom though the film was the camera's battery XD God, that Gameboy repair was fun. Plus it really took me back to when I was little and getting gaming help in a book shop for my Pokémon on my DS, god XD
I hate games like this that don't give you an ounce of freedom, it's like why don't I just watch a movie. I'd like to see this game but with the ability to screw up and do what you want rather than a baby puzzle.
Tom has lots of experience fixing "action figures" from "anime." They're definitely not all figures of girls from a certain category of anime that starts with "H"
Tom: "Oh no... they're trying to make me feel things."
"oh no, she wants my kidneys"
Terrifying
Came here looking for this xD
This comment was so good
I'm never surprised with UA-cam comments, literally came here looking for that comment😂
They pay him to repair, not to care.
Beat me to it :)
And they pay him dinosaur..toys...?

"So that was Handle with Care everybody" Tom is the best at promoting games
Tom is always great at finding Tom games
I suggested this one in that video he requested game suggestions a while back. Glad to see he's enjoying it too!
I'm always suprised about the size of overlap between tom games and briony games :D
Man, Tom, you really beansed up that soup recipe. I think its time for you to play some more cooking games.
Oh and we all know Tom loves those cooking minigames :)))
I love how this game has such a beautiful and touching story and Tom couldn’t care less. That’s the quality content I’m looking for
Just noticed the passport at 2:00. That's the passport from the United Federation in Papers Please.
Glory to Arstotzka!
I noticed it too! What a fun reference!
Same! I was like. . .this better not be a forged document!
I love how someone asked him for a favour and he instantly went too "oh no, they want my kidneys" 😂😂
I love fixing electronics, however I can say that these do not really resemble the actual devices :p
What do you mean? My phone is full of elastic purple wires. I've seen them with my own two eyes!
Except that gas burner, I swear they copied the Pocket Rocket (not as pervy as it sounds) that I use exactly except they added a goofy light switch to it
Also instead of having exactly the parts you need you have everything except what is needed
When the lady wanted the light to flicker I thought it was the perfect moment to let the game learn the player about 555s.

I could not tell you a damn thing about the story to this, despite watching the video.
Not gonna lie, you got me with that scene right after the kid said "Do grown ups play games"
Here comes Tom, the man who can repair anything.
"They're not paying me to care, but to repair!" ~Tom
*Americans:* *** Sells butter in sticks ***
*American game:* "...1/4 stick of ______, half a carrot..."
*Tom:* "Stick and a half of carrot!"
And the last ingredient was definitely Plenty of "Love"
To be fair, that americans sell butter in sticks is not that well known.
I knew the recommended videos thing in the middle was a gag but then I saw the sorted food videos and was like hold the fuck up did he actually do it
By the omni sicapia! The Tomnissiah repairs lost relics of holy terra! Which brilliance is within his cogitaters

13:33 - Tom, confirmed grown-up? Y/N
28:49 The coffee confirmed what we already knew
I love how excited you were to repair in the epilogue. XD Well played.
Ah a fresh Tom Video! Its good so far. All the bits I actually want to see.
4:15 lmao I thought tom was just being a cheeky bastard when he started squirting the glue everywhere. I've been watching too too much call me kevin, spiffing Brit, or let's gamut out clearly.
Let's gamut out. The youtube channel all about colours
“Oh no, they’re trying to make me feel things”, immediately followed by a hard cut brought me to tears with laughter, just hilarious aha 😂
the only inaccuracy in this is the ribbon cables in the consumer electronics that have super fragile connectors that you can break trivially
The start of the video reminded me a lot of Gnog and now I wonder if Tom would like that game.
Tom if you like repair and puzzle games i could recommend glass the masquerade. It's all about fixing ornamental clock designs
1:55 this woman is a citizen of the United Federation. She shall be denied entry to Arstotzka
Glory to Arstotzka !
So nice seeing videos come out that I saw you get recommended in the comments vids, real rewarding for some reason

Immediately I'm like "SWITCH THE TAPE TO THE B SIDE, I WANNA KNOW!"
But regardless you were so good at games, well done.
I’m in love with this game’s aesthetic, it’s so pretty!

Tom, I am PRETTY certain that is *butter*, not cheese.
I can't believe it's not butter!
The UK not selling butter in 'sticks' like in the US really threw him for a loop.
@@Meximagician We don't sell *anything* in "sticks", I think he just missed that word entirely.

Fun fact: This game is from the same indie studio that made Monument Valley 1 & 2.
What a delightfully chill game, really like the imagery and voices.
"Oh, man, I really like this repair minigame"
"I'm here to repair, not feel" That's the story of my life.

"Moonglow Bay" is a game I'd love to watch tom play.
13:35 great edit!
Nice surprise to see that lil' Monty Python clip in there
i feel like the game 'twelve minutes' is something you'd enjoy playing.
This just reminded me I bought this game in the summer sale and I've not yet played it!
I love Tom just skipping the full story so he can fix things.
Wait a minute, I think I've seen the emblem on that passport before . . .
Every time Tom says "I hope you enjoyed it" at the end of a video I always make sure say out loud "I always do"
The real repair is fixing your heart, Tom.
