    Gospel: John 21:15-19
After Jesus had revealed himself to his disciples and eaten breakfast with them, he said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him again: “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was very grieved that he had asked him a third time, “Do you love me?” And so he said to him: “Lord, you know all things. You know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my sheep. Amen, amen, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked wherever you wanted. But when you are older, you will extend your hands, and another shall gird you and lead you where you do not want to go.” Now he said this to signify by what kind of death he would glorify God. And when he had said this, he said to him, “Follow me.”

Friday, May 17, 2024 - A moment with GOD through HIS WORD.
Reflection: How can we embrace suffering as a sacred expression of love, echoing Jesus' perspective, and support our loved ones through their trials?
Prayer: My most compassionate Jesus, in Your great love for us all, You desire that we unite our sufferings to Your Cross so that all suffering shares in Your redemptive love. Give me the grace I need to not only embrace my own sufferings in life out of love for You but to also help those whom I love to live sacrificially by embracing the crosses they carry out of love. Jesus, I trust in You.

The lord jesus shows us that love is a personal choice & a gift freely given..
We must genuinely own our failure & the pride or foolishness that led to pride...
For everything that jesus has done & said until then was really just about tending to the people that God so loved..Amen🙏🙏

Such a profound and clear message of the true depth our faith for our Lord! It is arguably difficult for us to understand that the path we have chosen in our faith is not a path of complete joy. While our desire is for peace and calm to rule over our lives, we often forget that carnally we are a part of an indifferent world that we must live in. Spiritually we can live in that world because we can have confidence in the presence of our Lord to help carry our burdens. I often am reminded that many of the early Saints had a clear understanding of what they would face in the pursuit of completing God's will, even to their death. In Acts 7-54-60 we read of the death of Saint Stephen who, in the same manner as Jesus did, asked forgiveness of those who were stoning him. The pain he was about to suffer was overcome by the life he was about to receive. His faith was so steadfast in the spreading of the message that Jesus had brought to this world of forgiveness and eternal life, that it was paramount to his own life! Saint Stephen, like all those of the early church, had an opportunity to witness his faith in Christ even unto his death! The life we desire can only be found in a unyielding desire for the truth. Our secular lives are inundated with false accusations and lies, some of which are so subtle that we must pray over them before we can reject them. Fortunately for us though, the truth is simple, "I am the light, the way, and the life." This is the truth that Saint Stephen saw as he was about to be stoned, "The Son of man standing at the right hand of God." 🙏💖🕊🕊🕊🕊
