It's okay to be confused! When we talk about asexuality, we mean that's we don't experience sexual attraction! It means we don't have a 'desire' to have sex with someone. On the other hand, allosexuals (people who experience sexual attraction) do feel an attraction to people in which they want to have sex with the person they're into. That's not to say that asexuals don't have sex though- asexausl can and might even like sex, but they don't have a 'need' for it. Some allosexuals consider this a deal breaker in relationships- i.e. they don't want to have a relationship with someone who won't have sex
Hey! I completely get your point! And just want to clarify; non-asexual people don't necessarily think/jump straight to sex. Asexuality is the lack of any sexual attraction. So whether it was a day or 10 years, there wouldn't be the element of sexual attraction. That doesn't mean, however, there isn't romantic/platonic etc. attraction for asexual people.
@@nothing-nowhere-never wait, so asexuals can like sex? I knew not all are sex repulsed or dislike having sex, but I didn't know you could enjoy it. @Paper Magpie Hi! No it doesn't instantly rule you out at all. Common misconception you can have sex and still be an ace. Ace simply means experiencing no sexual attraction. The area between sexuality (experience sexual attraction) to asexuality (don't experience sexual attraction) is a grey area hince the term: greysexual (limited sexual attraction or only happens in certain circumstances). Some need to get to know the person before wanting to sleep with them: Demi. Some desire to perform sexual acts but dont like them to be reciprocated: placiosexual, some desire to receive sexual acts but have no desire to perform them: lamvanosexual (opposite of placiosexual). Some don't experience sexual attraction still desire a sexual relationship: cupiosexual, some experience sexual attraction but don't like it to be reciprocated: Lithiosexual, some orientation fluctuates between other orientations: abrosexual, some orientation fluctuates between asexual and allosexual: aceflux. Some sexual attraction fades initially after meeting somebody fraysexual (basically the opposite of demi), some can't put there sexuality into words: Novisexual. And some are sex repulsed/ could live their whole life without it: aka me an Apothisexual (not the same as celibacy or abstinence, ace isn't a choice.) I'm sure I missed alot but there are like 20 terms under the ace umbrella alone I can't remember them all. To put it shortly sexual attraction (or lack there of) is not the same as sexually desire and it does not stop some from having sex. I can't tell you what you are, but I highly encourage you to look it up, there's a term for everything these days, even more than I listed. :) -sincerely a proud ace/apothisexual 🖤⚫🔲💜
