  • The design video for my LEGO Particle Accelerator project which was part of the Bricklink Designer Program.
Unfortunately, this project did not make it past the crowdfunding stage (only the first 5 projects to make it were selected). Thanks to everyone who tried to make it a success! At some point, instructions will be made available for those that are interested in building it themselves.

The fact that Jason designed something 7 years ago, and it's still up to snuff with MOCs made in the 2020s despite more brick molds existing now, is astounding.

    So, Jason, here's an idea.
Instead of making one accelerator, make two, at opposite ends of the circle. This should make your "little balls" go twice as fast, as they will be propelled twice as much in a ratio of times propelled to the period of time the machine is running.
If...when this set goes into the open market, I will be sure to purchase it, since I am a great fan of the show :"the flash", in which a particle accelerator plays a major role. We believe in you Jason! You can make it!

I wonder if this could be part of a Lego Great Ball Contraption? It takes in balls/particles from the prior machine, sends them around the track, and a counter at the exit measures the time between balls. When the time is too short, it activates the target which causes all the balls/particles to be dumped into an output for the next machine

NOW you're talking my language! But you really need to have two beams going around in opposite directions in offset rings with a method to cause the two to come together and produce the beam collision -- maybe that would be going overboard? In any case, nice model!
