Awesome shots! Especially of Gateway Western, C&NW, SP, a high hood GE loco, Amtrak F40, and not a single trace of the mergers that took place between 1995 and 96
Nice catches! I like the Norfolk Southern GE C30-7 at 3:54, Chicago & Northwestern EMD SD60 at 5:07, the Santa Fe GE B23-7 at 9:51, the Norfolk Southern Hi-Hood GE B23-7 at 15:15, the Union Pacific GE C36-7 at 15:19, and the Santa Fe GE B23-7 at 21:29! Really nice!
This is nice; really nice. I just can't place anything in this visually with the modern day (2022) Virtual Railfan cam at Santa Fe Junction. So nice to see Southern Pacific, Santa Fe (instead of BNSF), Chicago & Northwestern and more! So many fallen flags.
If you watch static camera that points at the Transcon the hillside the tracks are on now is where these were taken from. Around 2000 the Transcon was realigned to the hillside these videos were taken from (and was a very popular railfan perch over the years).
WOWSERS! This was some real action!😎 I’m not sure where this is, but you caught lots of lines. The zoom on that camera...was that only one camera? What a hotspot! What’s it like in 2019?🧐 We would love to visit this location!😳 Porters of Ohio.🤩
Yes, one camera. Like I said in the description this view is no longer possible becuase around the turn of the century the BNSF Transcon was realigned to the hillside the photographer was standing on for these 1995 views. Today, Virtual Railfan has a webcam at this junction viewable for free on UA-cam.
Please keep this up some of the best railroading footage I've ever saw
Wow great footage very nice to see preserver paint schemes thank you for posting.

A new favorite for me from your channel. Wonderful!
Wow. How about the Santa Fe SD-45 B unit at 6:45??
VG vid. This video is one of the best. That spot was loaded with action.

@@RailroadMediaArchive Ah okay, thank you for that. I didn't think they would put in many new rails in the 21st century.
This was absolutely great!
I remember seeing some of these scenes from the CLEAR BLOCK PROD. video KCS Into The 90'S Volume 1.

Lots of unexpected action:)
I would much prefer to railfan Santa Fe Junction from this vantage point. But with the BNSF flyover on that hill now, it's completely off limits.
You can do it......Be an outlaw like your inner spirit tells ya to........I been up there many many times..
