    This is my 5th or so video watching how to fix different parts on my Jeep. Power Addicts is like the mechanic dad I never had showing me how to fix my car at home, for cheap, and helps fully break down why we are fixing something and how it all works both in detail and in the big picture. Thanks a ton!

      You are very welcome!! It is comments like this that reminds me why I do this. From the beginning I wanted to create these videos to help as many people as I can. I've been asked to shorten my video format because when I add so many details it makes the videos longer than most. It is those details that help people that want to learn. Thank you for such an awesome comment!!

    I always change my rotors with every brake job, They rust out in NY anyways by the time you need new pads.

    One wheel rubs just a bit too much causing that rotor to heat up more than the other side. It still spins freely. I've changed both front hoses, calipers, rotors and pads as well as changed out all the fluid.

    Hey buddy. Great vid. You've done brake flush. Maybe you should do a vid for guys to show them how to flush out your coolant system. Thx brother 👍

      Hey Daryl, yep .. I did that video before releasing this one. I always flush the old brake fluid out before changing soft lines and calipers.

      @@Poweraddicts Do I need to bleed the brakes before AND after I change the calipers/ rotors?

    I'm replacing the calipers and flexible brake lines on my 95 YJ.
    The driver side flex hose was seized to the steel line. Do you know the diameter of the threads on the hard line? I've purchased 2 different 3/16 30" break line and neither threads worked! Thanks!

    Are the hub assemblies all the same or is there one for 2wd and 4wd?

  • @BrianChildress2
    @BrianChildress2 2 роки тому

    My brakes keep pulsing when I press on them. I read it’s a warn rotor. So I thought I would start there and replace them. What are best calipers, rotors, pads for a yj? Akebono?

    • @Poweraddicts
      @Poweraddicts  2 роки тому +1

      You have a warped or badly worn rotor. I usually just go to the autoparts store and get off the shelf parts, really no special brand. Don't cheap out on your pads, Im not saying get the most expensive but definitely don't get the cheapest. Akebono is the better design caliper that comes on the WJ Cherokees so don't complicate things and chase those. The Akebono calipers, the knuckles and other hardware from a WJ Cherokee is for doing the XJ knuckle mod swap. So, like I mentioned above, if you are keeping your rig stock don't complicate things by chasing those.

    Do you have to change the brake lines if you change the caliper? Is it 100 percent necessary? Thanks

    • @Poweraddicts
      @Poweraddicts  Рік тому

      100% necessary? No, but there have been many times that I didn't that I wished I had in the first place.

    I am replacing caliper on front passenger side. Should i replace the soft lines on both sides if caliper is only locking up on one side? I was going to replace the caliper seals on the other side (not locking up side) too.

    • @Poweraddicts
      @Poweraddicts  3 роки тому +1

      I personally would replace calipers and soft lines both sides. I've done just one side before just to have to do the other side very soon afterwards.

    • @tatchik77
      @tatchik77 3 роки тому

      @@Poweraddicts we are doing that today...HOPEFULLY we can get the soft line disconnected easier on this side. We ended up having to cut the old soft line fitting off with a portable bandsaw cuz the nut got rounded off 😭
