Hi man, love the content! Just one thing to say here on the string pins (I'm not defending them, but I had to say this). I work at a bowling alley in Groningen in the Netherlands and we recently had string pins installed. This is my experience with them: Yes, the pin reaction is a lot smaller/worse. We barely see any messengers or anything like that at all. string pins seem to leave a lot more splits. BUT, our strings seem to be very different than the ones in the video. we still have 10-pins staying up all the time, unlike the reaction on the 10-pin I've seen multiple times in this video. I've never seen that reaction on any of our lanes. I don't know whether it has to do with the type of strings (they do look different), or the tightness or length of the strings. I really enjoy the pinfall machines a lot more (I scored way higher on those), but the cost of operation on string machines is estimated to be about half. I agree string pins shouldn't be used in official competitions though. In short, I think our string pins perform better than the ones in this video. Whether it has to do with the type of string, or the settings of the machines, I have no idea
Those are not certified strings. The certification is different than what you are seeing on the recreational strings. The EDGE strings don't appear to be as bad as rec strings
I think a mix of regular pins and string pins would ultimately be fine, especially if the string pin tournaments were more interesting and/or fun (trios, dual pattern, etc.)
These look like the strings from before the USBC did research and certified a certain spec rate of them. In the video they released, it looked far different than these.
You need to find a USBC certified string pin lane and then do it. Not sure what the outcome will be but it would at least give an idea as to the real outcome of strings for competition. Fun centers are not certified or sanctioned.
Dumb it down and make it even easier to get strikes and spares cause we all know, "Johnny can't fail, ever." Just like being back in school......no failing grades.

Once again, USBC and the manufactores came up with a design that are certifiable, which was published this summer. Old setters are not certifiable. Goodbye.
I have been bowling for 35 years with 3 300 games in the mix. I don't mind the strings. Brunswick has a good string system! I'm all for it if it keep bowling centers open..
How about we address why the sport is dying so bad that centers are loosing money. All of you UA-camrs are doing more for the sport than the actual governing body for the sport. The PBA and USBC should be ashamed of themselves. And if it continues maybe the pros should band together and start an alternative or parallel league in houses that don’t use them. In short, I think our string pins perform better than the ones in this video. Whether it has to do with the type of string, or the settings of the machines, I have no idea
USBC makes a two-finger bowler fill in the thumb hole, but string pins are no problem. What a joke!
Cool video talk tech bowling bowling ball
Are these even USBC certified string pins?!? I highly doubt it.
These string pins are comical but look at the bright side those that can't pick a 10 pin will love it!!!
Second time I'm asking you to try something... bowling with Rollerblades on. Let's see it
I can’t watch until my lunch break but I hope you knock a pin off it’s string
Those are not certified strings. The certification is different than what you are seeing on the recreational strings. The EDGE strings don't appear to be as bad as rec strings
U ever tried a vintage plastic skull ball..? I recently got one good condition $30..
The first 25 second deserves this video a like.
Is it even possible to leave a 10 pin on strings, the most common left by right handers
I think a mix of regular pins and string pins would ultimately be fine, especially if the string pin tournaments were more interesting and/or fun (trios, dual pattern, etc.)
How about having the even-numbered pins be string and the odd-numbered ones be free-fall?
@@MikeDCWeld You know of a pinsetter that can do some on strings and some free? What one could already do is left lane strings and right lane free.
What is that background music you used? It sounds awesome 🤩
These arent installed right
String pins ruin the competitiveness in bowling
These look like the strings from before the USBC did research and certified a certain spec rate of them. In the video they released, it looked far different than these.
wooo
You need to find a USBC certified string pin lane and then do it. Not sure what the outcome will be but it would at least give an idea as to the real outcome of strings for competition. Fun centers are not certified or sanctioned.
Dumb it down and make it even easier to get strikes and spares cause we all know, "Johnny can't fail, ever." Just like being back in school......no failing grades.
Looks to me like leaving corner pins is impossible on strings
String pin might be bad for bowling, but they’re great for getting you likes and subscribers. 😅
Extra carry strings may be a good way for a youngster entering the sport to build a little confidence. Thoughts on no tap?
String are great for saving the bowling center lots of money. In my opinion it’s not bowling
If string pins are USBC legal, then 20 pound balls should be legal as well. Just sayin’.
Get rid of string pins, period!
This is laughable. I still haven’t bowled with them. I gotta try it once
Stringpins is litterally just no tap😭
Wait until they put a string on the balls! Then the centers can get rid of ball returns.
Ya cheating

Have you ever ended a full season with a 220+ average? I looked you up and pretty sure 217 was the highest... Any truth to this? Maybe change channel name to 217 average bowler..?
Napa Bowl just completed the string pin install.
Here's a short vid:

Once again, USBC and the manufactores came up with a design that are certifiable, which was published this summer. Old setters are not certifiable. Goodbye.
Don’t care 🙂
@@220avgme neither
Agreed. This will ruin competitive bowling. Bowlero will loose money eventually and someone else will step in and we’ll start all over.
Thanks for getting rid of the watch cap !……. It adds nothing to your videos !……..
1st? C'mon.....🤞
Looks like 3rd 🥉
@@220avg sigh....
This is a Bowlero thing and they are awful.
hello michael, i love your videos and far be it from me to tell you how to do your videos, but in fairness the music you add to the video is annoying and frankly not needed. tyvm
🧵🎳🤮
YOOO
String pins should never be accepted for competition. It is such a joke, no real skill involved with string pins. You carry every shot because of the strings.
Um no. Plenty of research that shows the exact opposite, that string pins actually LOWER scores.
First
Stiff competition today but Joey still takes the 🏆
@@220avg well he doesn't have nice emojis. /dang
You’re playing on a shit string system. In order to do usbc they have to be certain systems with certain setups and rules. You won’t carry hardly any of that on usbc certified string system. There is a reason they are doing all the testing they are doing. I prefer not to have them but if the numbers prove close there are lots of benefits to them too if they get real close. Longevity and center keeping them in spec will be the big question.
If the average Joe doesn’t understand the difference between a house pattern and a sport pattern
Don’t you think the difference between a shit string system and certified string system will just complicate the understanding of the sport even more
Stop trying to justify this garbage arcade game
@@220avg well. I mean. I’ve been to centers with shit lanes and racks that are so bad you almost have the head in covering the 3 pin etc. so there is always going to be variance. But yeah. Not sure how it all would be enforced. But you could have the same issues now. But definitely agree the strings seem like they could get out of spec pretty easy. That’s why I think longevity could be the real issue as well. Hopefully we won’t have to find out 😂
@@farmboy805 kind of how you justify that garbage ass truck? 😂
@@farmboy805 look. I’m not justifying. Highly doubt any centers will spend money on them. They don’t even fix their machines now lol. Only place getting these are the get drunk and bowl spots 🤷♂️
The only people defending this as being allowed for competition don’t wanna put the actual time and effort into getting good or better or elite at 10 pin bowling…or they just suck so they wanna dominate on soemthing easy like this
String pins are absolutely going to ruin the sport and leagues for everyone. Straight non experienced bowers will love it, experienced people will just refuse to bowl on it. Crazy they are approved for usbc play.
