Great groove guys,Adam shines as always,well done❤May be the only critique that I would make is the accuracy of bends that could have been more precise in electric guitar,but since Adam is foremost brilliant acoustic fingerpicker - he is executing bends as if he was playing acoustic guitar.Also may be adding more vibrato and slurs typical to electric guitar would enrich and solidify the melody statement,imho of course .All the rest is awesome,enjoyed every second!)
@@ImpDaDimp Great,may be booster and a litttle bit of grit would fatten up a sound when you play a single note melody,but this is already a matter of taste - I also add a portion of delay and reverb to prolong the notes and fill up the space.May be a spring reverb would make it. Also by the way liked a keyboard player very much - such an impeccable solo and jobs.
@@YuriStolov Yuri - I have an axe with P90's but I'm choosing teh Tele lately...and as the band and I mixed this track I was always wanting warmer warmer - but with funk you also need the bite to cut thru. I played archop jazz guitars 25 years so boy do I know about warmth and a touch of reverb - I was all about that. I hear you - yet in this case my job is to make the rhythm section sound right - and that means playing a bit "spanky" with a James Brown guitar concept.
I understand Adam - once again it is a matter of taste and personal preferences,of course you are pro experienced player and you have your own vision of a given musical situation.I am just expressing my personal impressions incorporating them with my feeling of sound.And by the way - you have mentioned in your reaction that a band wanted a warmer sound,so may be they have also lacked a thickness a bit,well I don't know....
@@YuriStolov YEAH YURI - it was me pushing for a warmer jazzier sound when we mixed actually and I would have liked more wetness / reverb or delay. I'm still working out my electric sound. Mind you - when we started the band it was definitely a more jazzy approach that I took (see "Just a City Boy" on the band channel) and yes, that sounds scool - but once things start getting LOUD - electric bass, drums rockin, and the "intensity" that's needed - the jazzy thing just no longer worked. I needed an approach that could stand up to what was happening volume and power wise, so solos leaned more into distorion, wah-wah and it gets kinda Hendrixy sometimes. and the tele just cuts through so well. It's all about finding the right approach for a situation. So i'm not a guitar player with a backup band - we are a band trying to get a sound, and the guitar is part of that. I certainly could take my ES 135 with 12 flats and go for more of George Bensonish, Grant Greenish approach too - but that's just too chill for this band, (and I LOVE those guys, played that approach 20 years ago). So this was LIVE - no overdubs, very little massaging and processing of sound - just enough. We still wanted a band sound rather than Steely Dan :-) so we mixed with a raw sound in mind.
