I was a long time windows user and i decided to switch to the new macbook air and it's amazing! There are some features that i wish mac had like in windows but the same goes for my windows laptop as well so i guess all of them have their pros and cons. I was mostly interested in the cache folder and I also use cleanmy mac. My mac is actually really fast, but just in case, I wanted to give it a clean. Plus, even though I did download a bunch of apps I saw that a considerate amount of my disk size was being taken up, so now I have freed up a lot of storage, thank you!

Thank you! In my company they made me update for security reasons so I could not stay with Catalina anymore.
After the update, my Mac book Air 2017 became unusable...
This really helped to improve performance a bit.

I finally figured out the problem with my mac after upgrading to big sur. I went into disk utility and found out that there were two Macintosh HD Data drives (there is only supposed to be one), and the second one was filled with old system junk. Once I erased and unmounted the second Macintosh HD Data drive my mac is finally running fast like before. I tried everything in all the videos, nothing worked except for this. I hope it helps someone!

You have serious understanding of mac if you need to do all the little no impact twicks as suggested. Make sure you have ssd and at least 8gb ram. Clean cache with onyx or cmm.

I stopped using Chrome. I gained significant speed on my 2015 iMac. I have used Chrome for some years now.
