  • In this video tutorial I show you how to paint two easy miniature landscapes in watercolor including how I frame them so they are gallery ready.
They are inspired by a hike I took in the Truckee Tahoe area of California, where I live.
I am using a limited color palette, and a loose painting style to create mountain landscapes with a stream in two versions.
You will learn how to create quick, little watercolor landscapes with mountains, rocks, trees and a stream. Learn watercolor techniques to create texture, depth and drama in your paintings.

I used to live on Donner Lake and most recently, Lake Toxaway, NC. Hope to learn some watercolor techniques and make some small landscapes. Thanks so much!

Thank you so much - yes, luckily the Tahoe area is not threatened, so far! But we have a lot of smoke, and most days are unhealthy air, so I've had to put my daily walks on hold most days, and all national forests, parks and rec areas are closed until further notice, so I really miss being outdoors! Compared to those that have lost lives and homes, this is of course, minor inconveniences!
