I have it! I have a good explanation to this video.
It could be that the doll is the girl's self-worth. In the beginning, she cherishes it and takes care of it. But this boy comes and messes with her self-worth and in order to keep him around, she helps him destroy it. There's so much that I love about this song. I think about the imagery and that seeking destruction to gain someone's favor and the lyrics about seeking a destructive relationship to form something stable and not realizing how ridiculous and self-destructive that is. I just love, love, LOVE this song.
The allegories in the song are beautiful. For example girl being very gentle and loving with the "doll" at first but then just messing her up goes very well with toxic relationships where a toxic and malicious partner tries to earn your trust and showing love and then using it to control and mess you up instead.
