Today we will travel to Vatican City in the Second Part of our Tour Day 20. As the heart of the Christian world, it a place of great art and architecture and rich cultural heritage. Since architecturally Vatican City is facing east, it may be ideal to visit the same in the afternoon if you are looking to climb the dome. The cupola of St. Peter's Basilica is a work of art. The pictures that you mostly see here are mosaics that appear like paintings. You can see both long shots of these art pieces and close of these mosaics in the mosaics in the video. We also strongly recommend climbing to the top of the cupola for an incredible view of the Vatican City from the top. It will only cost you about 10 Euros to take the lift. However, the lift will take you only halfway to the top. The rest of the dome has to be climbed through a staircase. You can take a look at the video to understand how difficult the climb may be. A moderately fit person can do the same. But the views from the top as you can see at the end of the video will be worth the climb. You can also see the Pope's official residence from the top of the dome.
