It think folding it in half would better help with the hair slipping out. I’m ready to take mine down it because the braider folded the top and I have lots of strands that have come out when I tried to detangle 😢
There’s a site a stylist mentioned about good human hair but it was for crochet braids.The hair was from QVR Hair. It’s a bit on the expensive side but I heard it’s worth it because the hair is really that good. P.S. I live off of SSI so I need a “cheaper version” until I master my braiding skills please. I would really appreciate it.

This style has been around forever. It's wet and wavy box braids. Back in the day they use small pieces of the braid and give it a knot at the end of the braid, or use a candle and burn it. This in not "boho"

For human hair I hear people only folding the top in order to keep length and not have to fold it completely in half
