Next day he went to another dealership, where they treated him as well as any other customer and paid cash for his wife's car. True story, brands and dealers omitted.
The only stringed instrument I can think of that could make that sound is a mandolin. You don't typically hear much in the say of bluesy string bending from mandolin players. At least not quite like that. Great stuff! I'm a big Hank Jr. fan but I'd never heard this song before. Thanks for the reaction!!!!

As always, a great Hank Williams Jr. song. I agree there is some great musicianship on the recording but I think the mix fell short. The lead instruments were too low in the mix and could barely be heard. Just my preferences.

Digging the new intro! And I have to disagree about everyone deserving respect. Respect itself deserves to be earned and given to show the type of person you are. Not everyone was raised right. And as for home, I think Ronnie Millsap sang it best: "They've got me 8 hours, she's got me after that".
Hank jr has so many good songs! Gulf shore road hands down my favorite though just puts life into place and where I think we all strive to be in the end
I just listened to Gulf Shore Road, and it really makes a lot more sense than where we are now. We did some camping at Golf Shores many years ago and loved it.

The instrument at the end throws me off too. It’s a mandolin but it almost sounds like steel strings instead of brass or something; it’s different

I think that high sound can be made on a guitar. We named one of our dogs "Rowdy" after Hank's song, "All my Rowdy Friends . . . "
