- A compilation of College Football Game Losing Missed Extra Points. After scoring a big time Touchdown late in the game, all these teams needed was the kicker to make an extra point to tie the game or take the lead. Typically, the extra point is viewed as one of the easiest plays in football, but in these instances not only did the kicker miss, but they cost their team a win. The kickers were not getting fist bumps and high fives back in the locker room after these plays to say the least. Feel free to comment ideas for future College Football videos down below. Enjoy!

Ohio/Buffalo 2019 ended the same way that UK/Ole Miss game did.
Should have had my Arizona Wildcats from 2010 when Zendejas missed that Extra point against ASU lol
Fair. That would've allowed Georgia's Rose Bowl victory over Oklahoma as well as many others, I'm sure.

2nd clip is Alexis serna from Oregon state. He missed 3 XPs in that game. He later in his career won the Lou Groza award for the best college kicker in America.

Never had an nfl career so he was never even relevant, college kickers are pathetic and make cfb difficult to watch

I remember watching that Cal/Texas game live and was just stunned when he missed it. Cal had totally screwed it up, yet somehow, they won.

Yeah, just used to seeing them go thru. So many were missed high and right. The pressure must keep you from closing thru the ball.
In my opinion, the kicker has to have the most psychologically difficult position on the team.
By far the most difficult in all off sports.

If you think about it, the kicking is the toughest job in football. Miss the FG or PA and you are hated, make it and you are loved. Lot of pressure for a young kid.
I wouldn't say they're loved. There's about 5 kickers people know for positive reasons.

0:37 that’s embarrassing for us LSU fans. We were ranked #3 and barely beat OSU.
To be fair OSU was decent back then. They’d regularly find themselves within the top 25 come end of the season. I remember playing w them in ncaa 06 bc my buddys cousin is sabby piscatelli (played safety there) and they were low key kinda nice. I’m not sure exactly what year this game here is from but based on the quality of video and espn scoreboard on screen I’d say it was around that time.

Yeah considering my mom went to ULM this loss was heat breaking cuz I thought they lost by a 2 point conversion but no at halftime in the lsu vs Texas game in 2019 I figure it out and was disappointed with my family

Alabama and fg/Xp’s is an adventure, not surprised their in here 2X. This past season was an exception but since the late 90’s it’s been erratic at best.
Thanks for uploading those college football highlights based on a series of missed extra points that costed many teams their games. This is way better than NFL games. I’m sorry. I get pissy over NFL but I find college football and any other amateur sports entertaining. Lol

I'm a BG alum and we scored a TD against Wyoming in the last minute to tie with the extra point. There was a FG blocked earlier. The PAT was blocked as well
The worst part about this situation for the losing team(besides losing) is that you just felt an overload of joy and happiness only to how the pendulum swing completely the other direction in the blink of an eye

Kellen Moore went like 50-3 at Boise state. He lost all 3 games because of missed field goals. Against Nevada, the kicker missed one at the end of regulation, then missed again in overtime. Against TCU the second time, they were down one and he got them to inside the 30 I believe, kicker missed the game winner as time ran out. His first TCU loss was 17-16 where the kicker missed earlier in the game. Would have been 53-0 in his college career with a consistent kicker.
Unfortunately a consistent kicker is a hot commodity. Especially in college.

The OT extra point miss vs Arkansas was the beginning of the kicking curse for Alabama
The game at 5:35 really depressed me. Earlier that day, Michigan State beat Florida in the Citrus Bowl. I so badly wanted Michigan to lose to Alabama so MSU could finish the season with a higher ranking than Michigan. An MSU student at the time, that missed extra point by Alabama totally ruined my day. Because of that, Michigan finished the season ranked two spots higher than MSU, with both finishing 10-2 and despite the Spartans winning the head to head matchup.

You should've included AJ Rose celebrating before he got in the endzone in that UK game and them fumbling it a play or two later, just to show the amount of sheer undiscipline lost us that game that we had in the bag!
The 2015 Texas loss was classic. The SEC took a watered down Conf and watered it down by adding Texas.

Question for anyone who has ever played kicker: how hard is it to kick an extra point 15 yards behind where you usually would kick it? Everytime I see a kicker attempt from that distance they miss.
i’m a high school kicker and i am 95% on extra points. It’s not about how hard the kick is it is more about how stressful it is. Kicking is entirely mental. Every D1 kicker can make a 50 yard field goal easily with no pressure. So for them to miss an extra point that tells to the pressure they are under.

If it was missed field goals, I’d put Memphis vs UCF last year when UCF missed it and Memphis completed a 21 point comeback, a game I attended
I comment about the shoe toss game every video and I thought it would be in here then I remembered it was a field goal, not a PAT.
It was neither, it was a 3rd down and lsu was gonna punt. Then they got the pf and it pushed them to their own 45. They still had to get into field goal range and nail the kick. Which didn’t happen until a few plays later

The unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for the dog piss gesture in that Ole Miss game pushed the kick back to where the kicker missed it. If he had kicked the extra point from normal range, he would have made it. That guy being an ass cost them the game. Same with the UConn game.

The kicker though has all the spotlight on him, and it’s expected no extra pts should ever be missed (a reasonable expectation).
