  • OMG!!! What an INSANE truck!! Sand, mud, race track, golf course, bush, water & rocks! There's nothing we didn't throw at the all new Silverado 1500 ZR2. We are taking a brief hiatus from our usual Sunday morning travel videos to bring you this uber special video! As ambassadors for GMSV we get to do some really cool stuff, and when we were invited to join in the AU/NZ media/press release for the ZR2 and LTZ Premium Elevated, we agreed in a heartbeat - even though it meant flying to Brisbane from Perth - just hours after we arrived in Perth!
    Day 1 was spent at Sirromet testing the trucks out in the baja style track, tearing up Paul Morris's abandoned golf course, and a bit of bush bashing followed by dinner at Lurleen's and a campfire singalong with Kasey Chambers.
    Day 2 we took the Silverado's, some caravans and a Malibu boat to Norwell Motorplex where we focused on the technical side of the trucks capabilities. Slalem, skid pan, towing around the race track and a whole lot of fun on the 4x4 track Paul and his team plotted out especially. The day finished off nicely with hot laps in the Corvette with Paul Morris - definitely not something you get to do everyday!
    We then take you with us to the Brisbane 4x4 Show to see the first impressions as these all new Silverado's are revealed to the general public in Australia.
    At the end of the video we've added all the 'tech talk' for those of you interested in the finer details.

    Great content guys, would you consider the ZR2 to tow a 3.5t ATX or would it be better to got the LTZ and do some upgrades?

    • @AussieDestinationsUnknown
      @AussieDestinationsUnknown  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks guys! The ZR2 has a 4200kg BTC but I’d go the LTZ if I was towing an ATX. It gives you that little bit more room with weight. Both amazing cars though

    I got my 2023 zr2 . 1 thing it needs is a custom exhaust because it's too Quiet. I will be putting the borla atak exhaust system 😎🤠

      Haha - we actually like our truck quiet! Especially when using it as a ‘silent generator’ 😂

    Really good video guys. I know this wouldn't affect you guys but I'm 6.4 tall and struggle for leg room in most cars. The chevs seem to have more then our ram 1500 which is great news. And also head height is better.

    Hey Chris and Miriam. We currently have a y62 and have run into the lack of payload issue. We are 200kg as passengers and 360 ball weight. Would the ZR2 suffice? We are worried about payload and rear axle load limits with the ZR2

    "z" is pronounced zed, NOT zee.
    Please, help keep and respect what little of our cultural identity we have left.

    Pity it's payload when towing 4.2 T is around 65 kgs. Absolutely pathetic for some overpriced remanufactured rubbish

    • @AussieDestinationsUnknown
      @AussieDestinationsUnknown  Рік тому +5

      Typical comment from someone who knows nothing about them. These are the 4x4 focused truck. The LTZ Premium Elevated is 4.5 T and designed more for on-road, towing etc. 4.2 is the absolute max - anyone who tries to tow the absolute max weight with their tow rig doesn’t have much of an idea of how to tow safely 👍🏼
