    Since the IPO 39 consecutive EUR Q/Q revenue growth (22Q1-Q2 -1% in rallying USD), same for a trailing EPS. +100x return at 2021 May ATH = +100% CAGR over 6 years. After -65% drop and almost half recovered CAGR is still +60% yet at a cheaper valuation. Sadly you uploaded the video the first Thursday of Feb 2024 after the strongest 1 day rise since… the first Thursday of Feb 2023. All of the above is purely insane. Thank you for another incredible pick.

    As an investor from Sweden I of course know plenty about this company. My main worry has always been regulation.

    Chris Mayer is the GOAT. I'm a Chris Mayer worshipper just like you guys and I love that you take a deep dive into his portfolio's stocks ! On another note, even though he dumped it, I'm a few percentage points away from buying TPL if I want a good enough margin of safety under my DCF valuations.

    Have been thinking about buying this stock for a while. Held off because I thought a Q1 pullback in the markets might give me a better entry.

    Thanks for the deep dive! Do you happen to know how 1 dealer can handle 100s of players? It appears they are limited to 7 or so at a table and have 1:1 interactions. Seems like it would be hard to handle 100+ Or does that scaling only work with their RNG based games?

    I haven't watched the full podcast yet - I will in the coming days.
    My biggest issue is gauging competitive advantage. I find it difficult to imagine they maintain the margins even relatively close to what they are today. Is it first mover advantage? Scale? Regulations? Security?
    I have heard all these reasonings but so far, I'm out.

      @@silentnature977 I agree - everything seems good. The earnings release yesterday was also great.
      My problem is with the long-term. The business is great today, but typically something with this high of margins will be competed away as more players ramp up and understand their "secret sauce" per say. Then it's competition on pricing which reduces everyone's margins.
      This may not happen, I'm still trying to understand why Evolution's competitive advantage and if that is strong enough to prevent this.

    • @silentnature977
      @silentnature977 3 місяці тому

      @@skylerdelaurier713I understand your point. I think this business/industry is very tough and very difficult to get into that as a new business. If you see the competition they did not have half of the margins and do not have today. I think Evo's competitive advantage is clearly seen, but there are competition for other companies as well so it is not a unique thing. It is enough for me that Evo has constantly grown from 2006, that's 18 years in this business. If they hadn't had that plus they wouldn't have been growing as they did in the last decade. I think this is what we can call a proven track record. The future is unknown of course, but it stands for any other businesses as well. This is my personal opinion and maybe I'm not taking everything into account, but what I have seen is enough to me to hold shares and I could not find a single reason to sell shares, only buy. As I have written I respect your opinion and don't get it wrong, I just wanted to write You what I think.

      @@skylerdelaurier713they noted 60% of the revenue comes from unregulated markets. Many times large players cant play in unregulated and dark markets because of restrictions in the regulated markets they are in. Seems like a fair question to think as more markets are regulated and the market size increases will there be increased competition that pulls down the high margins they are currently able to get with less powerful competitors

    Very good discussion, thank you for sharing it. I had thought about this company for a while after I heard about Chris Mayer’s investment in it. Seems to be a great growth story with very attractive growth, clean financials and good management. But it does not resonate with me as a long-term investment because of what you discussed at the very end. Namely, their best customers are presumably people addicted to gambling who cannot resist logging in to play some more blackjack hands. I don’t want to be partners in that business, I have decided. Your analogy with Meta and Coca Cola is a bit charitable, I think. Philip Morris or Lockheed Martin might come closer in my opinion. At any rate, good luck and looking forward to hearing from you on other investment ideas.
