  • This homebuilt DLG is a "Hawk" DLG replica. Maybe I can get average 35 m start heights with this shear web wings.

Looks great 👍 and now you have something in between 1m and 1.5m 👍 Hopefully weather conditions improve soon for your trimming flights 🌤

Thank You Carl! I try some gliders in this scale but I think these wings are stronger then the early pieces...we will see how high it can launch. Yes, I am waiting for the maiden flights... :)

    another master pice, thank you.👍
And if i may ask, 120 cm, hm, isn't original 100cm? You 'adjusted' all dimensions...?
And you use, of course 😉, a filos 'technique'?
i can't wait to see it in 'action' (do you have any idea when?)

Thank your comment! This glider is scaled for the given boom length, meaning all major dimensions are scaled up. Yes, this glider also contains many technical solutions, including "a filos" of course. Although this wing now has a supporting brace that goes through a full cross section. I'm waiting for good weather, because it's raining here every day. Maybe that's why I managed to finish building this glider. ;)

      @@goldenfish77 building video dosent exist 😉 ?
Please don't get me wrong, but, your video is with 'blur', that was intentional...?
And, you say is it scaled for the given boom length, ok, nice 👍, but what is is it boom length, and what thicknes?
You have guided yourself with 'picture' from DLG 'forum'?
My eyes are no longer that good, but if i see right, to me boom looks like a carbon rod?
Do you have any weights in nose for balance...
Please, goldenfish77, you can 'show', tell much much more, dont be shy 😁
And that rain, OMG, i don't remember when was faling that much and hard !

@@Neocro There are lots of building videos on UA-cam. I used as reference "a filos" and "wind and wings" youtube channels' building videos. The POD (the electronics parts' cover) is my own construction from PET and packing tape. Yes, for this smaller DLG I use carbon arrow shaft as a boom, but in the future I will build own booms (fishing rod covered with fiber glass and reinforcement with carbon strips). Yes, I use some nose weight because the tails are heavier than I thought. So I build these planes inspiring from the internet. My newest glider is heavier than I thought but I will use it in windy weather mostly.

    Depron elite test technique?

Its wings are made from XPS foam core with fiberglass and carbon strips covering as a composite glider.

      @goldenfish77  2 роки тому +1

The AUW will be around 190g after the wings balancing.
