I Ditched Water Cooling for THIS!

- My custom water cooled build and I have a love and hate relationship. But in order to keep up productivity and not lose so much time with maintenance and other bugs, its time to move on to something SIMPLER. This is a fully air cooled gaming and productivity build that actually reuses a lot of the parts from the old PC in the new one.

That building sequence was awesome. It's literally PC building ASMR.
Hmmmm....givs us an idea.
@@HardwareCanucks Watercooling sucks glad you realized it, puget system's makes alot of editing/workstations and they dont use watercooling that should tell you something right there lol.Yeah it might look cool for a showpiece pc, but it's not about practiciality, like the old saying says keep it simple, stupid!
@@HardwareCanucks It was extremely well done. I enjoyed it SO much I had to share it with my friends on Discord and favorited this video lol.
@@HardwareCanucks yeshhhhh 😙😙
@@HardwareCanucks Do an overkill build. Lots of B roll of boxes opening, screwing screws in, sliding plastic off, mounting fans and drives, set to chill music.
The guitar music with the lamenting at the beginning, felt like a time to stay awhile, and hear a tale.
Hope you enjoyed the tale good sir.

on that note, someone recommend a game with an amazing story & music please 😊🙏
"ugh ok... uh oh."
*my life summed in a few words*
This deserves an award for cinematography! It is spectacular. The lighting is so moody.
Thanks :) wanted to try a different vive / look - happy to hear it was achieved!

Air Cooling will never be beaten in terms of reliability and simplicity~ 👌
That's true but I wouldn't blame solely watercooling if you overclock through the roof and you have an unstable system...
@@esoel The issue is these days, overclocking isn't really held back by temperatures until you get to a really extreme level where 24/7 stability isn't even possible without degradation.
I like water-cooling but aesthetically, I'm kind of sick of it these days. All builds look the same on reddit and it's hard to measure effort against functionality -- especially when work and play intermingle as frequently as it does for youtubers.
@@PeteKay PC builds will always look similar even if watercooling didn't exist. Instead you'd just see NH-D15s in everything.
@@misterscienceguy similar yes. But with rgb and AIO solutions of varying customizations, the lines are much more blurred today. I like the “hint” of color rather than Times Square lighting. But to ur point yes it’s all similar but nothing seems very special either.
Man! When he was disassembling his rig and that music started to play, had me really emotional...! I felt like I'm saying goodbye to an old friend!
I honestly wouldn't say you're "privileged" for having a 2080 Ti or being able to keep some/all of the products a manufacturer sends you. It wasn't just given to you, you worked for it. Even if you didn't pay for it with your money, you created content to get that GPU, that was part of your payment. You helped build this channel, you create content for us, you helped people get into PCs. That's not privilege my friend.
I'm not trying to sound like I'm hounding on you, but so many people are throwing the word, "privilege", around. You worked for it and you earned it. Don't think that that we think you get stuff just for "free", so to speak.
❤️✌️
I appreciate that, just wanted to make it clear I value the components I still have and not constantly chasing the best of the best. Cheers :)

it's rare to see pc squirting
The cinematography of that build sequence was absolutely beautiful.
Thanks thanks :)

Dmitri always has that "positive surrender" vibe in his videos. I'm loving it more than the "hyped" presentation.
His simplicity and how humble he is always wins me over along with the amazing content. God bless ❤️👍
Thanks!
Got an alert and watched this the day you posted it. I really needed to see this as I have been contemplating going back to a full custom loop. The main reason I stopped was that it was a pain in the rear to do any maintenance or change anything out. I briefly forgot this and was about to drop some serious cash on a custom loop. You saved me a ton of money. Thank you!
Also, my wife and I love your videos.
Y'know, i genuinely enjoyed that montage. It was so relaxing and so nice to watch. Thank you so much for your effort guys!

Love the new build Dimitri. Glad to see you are able to be more productive with this setup and not have to worry about any downtime.
Dmitri. I LOVED this video. Keep the next ones as calm as this one, please! Love the mood!!
Air cooling is so very much more practical.
Exactly
It's not for everyone, but if you enjoy designing and putting together custom water cooling into your PC, it is worth it.
Incredible build sequence, enjoy your film style so much! Makes the content so much more exciting to watch
The sound, natural comments and background music was stood out during that other than the shots
This is the realest video I've seen on PC Building! Thank you
Awesome build there!!! As a musician and pc enthusiast, i found this video very pleasing; all the building sounds of pops, twists, grinds and knocks were sublime!! Coupled with Perfect lighting and visual presentation! Fine job my friend in taking us along this ride; I actually felt your pain in taking the system apart as if it was to say "goodbye". Well done!! 🤓👍
This might be my favorite video from you guys in a while. As much as I liked the “Cool components” series, this is so much more down to earth and fun content, and it doesn’t feel like I’m being sold anything either. It’s nice to just relax to some chill PC building chatter and great editing. The audio was fantastic, loved that the music didn’t overpower the actual build noises, it really felt so much more real.
Fantastic be quiet Case and GREAT SERVICE CLIENT! 💛💛💛
Ah finally, the big players are going back to the basics.
Best upload I've ever seen in last 2 months! I really love it
First HC video I've watched in a long while... Great job, I really loved the vibe, editing, and narration! 💛
That sound design is beautifully on point. Fantastic!
Amazing camera work and editing on the build sequence!
that disassembly/build part was cinema-quality. it was amazing love to see more of it.
Great work as usual Dmitri!
That's why you use soft tubing for cooling. Hard is cool, but is horrible to disconnect and exchange stuff
and why you don't install RGB bloatware on a production system. Shit like iCue just causes problems for no reason, if you let fans and LEDs be controlled by the BIOS everything just works.
That's why you just do air cooling. Water cooling is cool but is horrible to maintain when compared to aircool
@@Razagul319 have yet to have any kind of crash unless I'm messing with software to the point the system will crash. And software for video editing or architecture programs that I use in 3d with different after market input software. But just gaming and doing basic editing or work loads.... Have yet to have any crashes or blue screens. Also no leaks and my GPU and CPU cooling will be way under what a air system can provide. Too many people dont know what they're doing or setting up. But to each their own. For me it works and will never go back to air cooling. ;)
@@PewGoBoomLife I never said anything about crashing. Just too much hassle for me to maintain. I used to build a brand new computer every year and loved it, but I'm old now, I've become more of a build it and forget it till it dies of dysentery kind of guy.
I have been using soft tubing for almost 2 years. Opened my Lian Li Dynamic case many times no issues. Love my custom loop😀
This video is so mesmerizing during the build sequence.
Very calming video edit. Spot on .. thanks Dimitri
This quiet ASMR type pc build is wicked. Well done with the video .
The rebuild was very satisfying to watch. Nice work.
I love the simplicity of air cooling
Same, all my systems are air cooled.
That case is real nice.! Excellent build :)
This was Beautiful! I could watch it all day
Loving the cable management :D
I love my air-cooled pc. Great video!
I really had to comment that this video is amazing! So satisfying the music with the scene of the building sequencie
Man that build montage was beautifully shot and edited. Incredible
I Love your Choice for the case
great job on the video, edit and content!
That B-roll with that background music and sunlight getting into the shot was SUPERB
Love it. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who is really bothered by the amount of time to swap parts when watercooled. Got myself a Scythe Fuma 2 and never been more happy with the decision.
Love the cinematic intro and build sequence.
Stability is king!
Welcome back!! Now I can start watching you regularly again.
Perfect music and volume!
It's refreshing to see a video about simple air cooling and accessible components.
Kudos to your patience Dimitri
been a while for one of these artisty montages. Love the build vid and editing
I just finished my build heavily that inspired by your loop layout... like literally, unveiling it this week. Alright time to press play.
That was a beautiful build. It's nice to know that I've made done good choices to recommend to my clients, with going for the Thread Ripper and the 570 series Asus motherboards. Thank you for the video
That was such a satisfying video to watch! Great stuff bro
Great video and appreciate the data points on the liquid verses air
Very nice bottom draining port. I like that a lot.
damn your video editing and camera shoots and lighting is the best in all pc hardware related channels by far for years now!
just 1-3 people "wear the glasses to the rest" as we say that have 10, 20, 30+ employees and pump out fast food videos. RESPECT!
I love practical Dmitri, living with his system day-to-day. Great advert for air-cooling BTW. Oh no, 1500 watt PSU - you've just gone and spoilt it!
Agreed, 1500W is just silly...
Gosh that b roll sequence was truly amazing. More!!! Moooooore!!!
The cinematography is like a PC building short movie/ASMR. Good quality stuff man
This is Hollywood grade PC building, love your music, lighting and video quality.
Enjoy your content. Love the aesthetic and production quality of all your videos. Second to none IMHO.
Ditching watercooling for my next build as well. Going with the noctua chromax black on a Ryzen 5 5600x. Can't wait to put everything together.
These cinematics are absolutely insane!!!
loved the b-roll, so nice to watch
amazing shots !!
Please film more builds like that. I could watch for hours
This was such a high quality experience
Glad you enjoyed :)
-D.
Interesting content - really liked this one!
that build was so relaxing to watch
That B roll was top notch. Almost like ASMR but PC building.
Love the 💙 and 🤍 AMD build!
Big fan! Great video as always
Super clean build and great video
Took me the better part of a weekend to put my first watercooling build together last year, and I've been dreading the impending maintenance from the moment it was finished. Looks and performs great, buuuut doubt I'll stick with it through the next big upgrade
Love the sound of montage.
You switched to Resolve! I love it!
you guys have the best Brolls ever
I loved the interstellar-esque music on the building sequence. Made it epic and more dramatic
I LIKE THE SUNSET THEME.. VERY RELAXING..
Asus! Give this man your 3080!!! He deserves it!
That montage, thats why you guys will be a big inspiration for my yt channel!
Nice love the color!
Still use air cooling to this day. Temps in the mid 50s underload is perfectly fine for a mid tower. Glad you chose to make things simple again Dmitry!
this is nice. no loud obnoxious music. more organic sound.
Anyone else just really enjoy the production and video quality of this channel? Obviously the content is great too.
Quick question though, what are you doing with the old hardware? Asking for a friend.
As cool and tempting water cooling is, I do not envy you guys when it comes to maintaining your builds.
It's not even that bad mate. Just use good coolant like Double Protect Ultra, flush your components prior to installing them and you should be good for some time. I've been watercooling for about 4 years now with my current system running around 9 months now with distilled water only and it's being doing great so far. Just avoid clear soft-tubing (EK ZMT is noice) aswell and you'll have absolutely no problems ever.
@@keremkesici4244 Oh, I'm sure. I'm just a giant bag of stress, and worrying about leaks and shorting something out would send me to an early grave. I've considered AIOs in the past, but honestly don't do anything that would require something other than air cooling.
@@joshbnimble That's true. I've had a few smaller leaks here and there over the years but i have actually never fried any of my components. Custom loops don't make much sense if you are only going to cool your CPU anyways - watercooling the GPU on the other hand makes way more sense. But i completely get your point in terms of maintance etc. It's just nice to have something to constantly teak and improve if you're into tweaking and optimizing your PC.
Nice video man! I hope you're doing well!
What cooling are you using in your gaming rig?
Great video thanks again
I have always stuck with aircooling. I buy the best of the best in aircooling and avoid watercooling at all costs. Why? Well less maintenance, less potentials parts to break, and it is cheeper. So win win on everything. And if you are not competitive OC air is more than enough to cool everything in the market
For CPUs, maybe. However GPUs under water benefit massively. There is no contest.
Air cooling is like keeping a stock car stock and not customizing it.
@@bepbep7418 Let's be real, you ain't gonna customise a stock mclaren.
@@daurykais hennessey performance says otherwise
@@inbedwithhomer I like how nowadays its getting more and more common for a gpu to have an aio bolted onto it from stock.
Your production level is insane.
I'd love to see these medium size air coolers make a come back. I'm about to move my old Cryorig H5 Universal into my new build.
Dmetri (sorry for spelling) Bro you never let me down. It was like watching a "B roll" from Top Gun movie. Thanks all for the audio advice. Your video helped and they are still working!
it is great case, you get many options with it, i did a client build with this case
Software can be so buggy sometimes.... But I've been water-cooled for years now and the only reason I've had gunk in my loop was from using the wrong fluids and not cleaning out the loop parts before filling it up.
Water cooling has efficient cooling... but is inefficient in every other way. It's more work setting up, creates more clutter, more points that can go wrong, clogging or even leaking can happen. Especially if you plan on moving the computer between spaces. Very happy with my pure air cooled build.
This is the reason why I always tend to go for air cooling. I hate downtime. :)
My custom loop systems haven't had any downtime related to water cooling.
@@Mildly_Amused lol sure
@@Mildly_Amused Happy for you dude. 👍
Going old school again, nice 👍
There’s nothing like the simplicity of air cooling. I recently got a Noctua NH-D15 for my 8700K and I’m getting 27C for idle and 49C under load which is amazing!
Nice to know someone else on this planet is air cooling thier 5800X. I thought I'm the only one.
Dude I love air coolers. I'm running the 5600x and its crazy how many people are using 200+ eur coolers in their systems.
