- Neil Roberts talks about 4 fan favourites from the Horus Heresy series released by Black Library.
A Thousand Sons (Book 12)
Prospero Burns (Book 15)
Know No Fear (Book 19)
The Primarchs (Book 20)
These novels play important parts in the wider HH narrative, and to hear Neil talk about his inspiration and goals with the covers was really awesome. A Thousand Sons is a favourite of mine so that was really exciting.

such a humble guy. yet one of the few artists who make the universe feel "real" and not fiction.
Neil Roberts and John Blanche are almost singlehandedly resposible for the look and feel of the Horus Heresy. Yet Games Workshop obviously pays Neil so poorly that he cannot even afford a new T-shirt. This state of affairs is disgraceful. We, the fans, need to start a crowdfunding campaign so that Neil can properly clothe himself. And Games Workshop needs to pay its creators their fair due!
Your channel really is something special. To get an authors opion of their work and reflect on it after so much time is so fascinating.
Especially when the author is as interesting as Neil Roberts!
Thanks for the vids
Hear, hear, man!
The Primarchs... almost “the Last Supper” of 30k.
Hearing the behind the scenes of the artists gets me really inspired to draw and paint!
Wonderful interview and amazing breakdowns of the work
Thank you for the awesome insights. It's great to hear from one of the many people that create such amazing artwork for this IP.
neil's great to listen to, cheers for the video guys!
Thank you!
Indeed the art for the book really draws on your imagination
Filmdeg I'm loving these interviews. Is there ant chance you could interview Toby Longworth, the narrarator for most of the dan abnett books. That man brings already great novels to life.
Oooh that’s a well good shout, someone I hadn’t thought of before. I’ll try reach out to him and see what happens.
@@Filmdegminiatures I know he’s a comedian as his ‘main’ gig so probably has reasonable downtime between shows
The Primarchs is awesome!
Hi, just heard that former White Dwarf editor Paul Sawyer (Aka Fat Bloke) has been diagnosed w terminal cancer. I was thinking maybe now would be a good time to reach out to him to ask if he would like to do an interview about his time as editor for the magazine.
Yea Paul and I have been chatting for a while, we’ll hopefully be filming in a few weeks.
@@Filmdegminiatures its very good to hear. Send him our regards :)

the HH books where the beginning of the end, maybe GW could have pulled it off if they had decent writers and a plan, but they had nothing close to those two things
