Putin wanted nothing more than for Ukraine not to join NATO, to remain NEUTRAL and the Donbass region will be allowed to govern itself on Ukrainian territory after the new not Russian-friendly government which 2014 with the help of the USA was installed by a coup no longer supplied any money or other necessary resources to the Donbas Region. Instead, the Ukrainian “Azov Brigades” staged “rabbit shooting” among the Russian Population there. The Americans have broken all the promises they had made to the Russians in 1991 (NATO eastward expansion promised by J.Baker : “ ..not one inch to the east from current (1991) position.”. And now we the Europeans are forced to pay for their lies.
