I'm re-reading Phantastes right now, and I agree that Heather Pollington might be a great illustrator for that project, based on what I see of the illustrations for this Snow White retelling.... but first project first! Very excited about what this new publishing company will produce. Definitely backing the Snow White project!

I also just finished Phantates. I think that The Carasoyn would be a bit less of a daunting project. It is a Shorter MacDonald fairy tale. Phantastes is pretty amazing! It would be an intense and expensive project.

I vote for a retelling and illustration of George McDonald's fairy tales! Great idea!

Maybe you could eventually digitalise these stories. Some kids whose parents might not like reading to them, could access these stories this way. Also I know some adults who would love to watch this digitally. All the best for your project

I liked so many of Jonathan's insights: monsters as either protectors or dangers, Christ as doctor, shepherd, and so much more, fairy tales as thousands of years of condensed observations on reality, Divine Comedy as bridge between Christian and pagan stories. Thank you. For boy fairy tales, how about Steadfast Tin Soldier, the Emperor's New Clothes, Pinocchio? Thank you for great insights. God bless you both.

He should take "the boy who wanted to learn how to fear" as an story. Very nice.

Well, Madam, thank you for the help in the description. What a lovely interview. Especially, the probing question about the dragon's image in his background. The way he described it, was giving me some vivid imagery. About how, if a child wanders too far into the wilderness, then the dragon comes and eates them.
I shall dig deep into George MacDonald, meanwhile what are your thoughts on phantastas or the golden key? Feel free to answer only if you have time.

Phantastes is excellent. It's not for children. It's definitely an adult fairy tale. The Golden Key could be read to children.

The Carriage Swing by George McDonald? I NEED to know I can't find which fairytale she's talking about?

It's in the show notes. It's called The Carasoyn. The audiobook by Naxos called Fairy Tales by George MacDonald is my favorite audiobook. The Carasoyn is in that audiobook.

Need an essay on Truth, Goodness and Beauty? Good original thesis. ‘What is it?’

Symbolism doesn't fulfill the 10 commandments. Works do.

Crazy how the holly spirit inspired all these symbols in the Bible that you're just not supposed to think about
