Looking forward to receiving the adapter. I searched a multitude of videos and saw that some type of electronics ( perhaps a resistive / computer "handshake" circuit ) is needed to get the Ipod & non-computer hook-up to work. Something the engineers overlooked when they designed the Ipod & cords. I saw your original connector prototype with heat-shrink on this video and the newer "completed adapter package" on your E-Bay link. Glad it is still available, and it will solve an issue some folks have encountered when they want to charge older electronics away from their computer. BIG THANKS from Texas.
@@lowfinger ooooh no... but ok thanks anyway!! do u have any clue what it is? I can't charge it, battery is new, and when I'm using a docking station (like the old jbl ones), I can play music but it won't charge.

From my experience I would say there is a problem with the ipod. Either the battery or the main board, normally this behaviour is from moisture damage, corrosion formed at the battery connector or on components of the charge circuit. Moisture damage can take years from exposure to having an issue.

How do you know when the IPOD is charging? If you see the battery bar is it charging? If charging on a computer, should the computer also recognize the IPOD and place an icon on the desktop?
If it shows the lightening bolt on the battery symbol it is charging, during maximum charging this is 0.35A for thin models and reduces during the last 10%. A USB power meter is the best way to monitor. If the HDD in the ipod has not failed it should show on the computer as a USB device and again if it is charging it will show the lightening bolt.
