My mom was 93 when she died and had zero wrinkles around her eyes. She was a pin up model in the 1940s. She learned to put Vaseline on at night from the makeup artists. When I was 13 I started using it because it wiped up leftover mascara that didn't come off the night before. I'm 55 now. I have no wrinkles except 2 tiny 11s that are getting botoxed soon. I started slugging I guess then over 40nyears ago. Highly recommend, considering I'm complimented more on my skin than anything else. I started using eye cream at 22, because a saleslady said I'd thank her later in 87. I highly recommend this cheap, drugstore Vaseline because it works. My mom even used it in her last months along with Wet and Wild lipstick, because as she said "You never know who's coming around!" 😊

I use Egyptian Magic balm, has Royal jelly, propolis & beeswax instead of petroleum. I also used grass-fed beef tallow which is INCREDIBLY RICHLY MOISTURIZING for super-dry skin like mine.

    • @anitaspencer1734
      @anitaspencer1734 Рік тому +34

What a great idea! In my life, I never would have even thought of using beef tallow. I have a few reasons for not wanting to use petroleum jelly, but God bless those who do.
I just looked into it, and this is only the very minimum/beginning of what I found: "Vitamins in tallow can help produce collagen. Vitamin E is known for its anti-aging properties. It helps stimulate blood flow to our skin, which increases collagen production, and helps prevent signs of aging. By increasing collagen production, you can keep your skin looking smooth and firm for longer".
The multitude of vitamins in it, are what I've been looking for in a natural product. And it doesn't clog pores!☺️
I'm going to look into it more deeply, as well as the Egyptian Magic Balm, (I've never heard of it), as I have several troubling skin issues.
      Anyways, a BIG THANK YOU!☺️🌻
      God bless💛

Brill. One thing- dermatologists say to be REALLY careful with your ingredients when slugging. Basically, do it when using your humectants etc. NOT active ingredients like retinol because it can cause massive irritation. That is not supposed to be sealed in!! Just sharing in case people have sensitivity and experience a reaction if they try slugging with active ingredients especially retinol! Not a criticism, grateful for the video - just a heads up (watch The Doctors talking about it…). Thank you and all best wishes and glowiness inside and out to all 😊❤

I've been using Castor Oil on my eyes at night, (not on my eyeballs, but on my eyelids and all around my eyes), as it is used in the Tears eyedrops, (that slick, greasy feel), so I know it is safe. And when I was digging up information on the benefits of castor oil, I learned that castor oil doesn't clog pores when used on the face, so it might work for those who suffer from acne.

That it needed to be mixed with other substances like in eye drops. I'm in the process of looking more into the benefits of castor oil for eyes, hair, and skin. I'm finding some very interesting information. Found a video that says it will get rid of stretch marks a couple of years old or less. And it will help with belly fat when rubbed on the stomach area. Well she got up to get something & I immediately got into the jar of Vaseline. She was gone less than 2 minutes but in that time I managed to not only coat myself in a thick layer but the walls & leather couch received the same treatment 😂
I'm currently 48 & my skin is actually pretty good considering I've been consistent with my anti-aging skincare routine & applying sunscreen every day for the past 10 years but due to perimenopause my skin, especially my under eye area, is quite dry so I started slugging a few weeks ago & I am OBSESSED! Petroleum jelly is hydrophobic it does not provide moisture, but it traps moisture and does not allow moisture from outside to penetrate the skin barrier.
    Pros:
    Traps moisture
    Cons:
May clog pores but regular cleansing can help reduce this.

I imagine it working by finding its way into the fine/developing sleep lines, and if you turn in the night, the jelly stops the creasing. the visual is like bending a page in a book, the line is there. but if you put a piece of fleece (jelly) under the page and bend it, it wont leave a mark.

@@Julia-kg5vu Weleda Skin Food (the dark green one) in Winter and Skin Food Light (the light green one) in Summer as night cream on top of retinol and any essences, sometimes I am too tired and just put on Skin Food, and it's great. I have acne prone skin that used to be oily, but also dry patches. If I get some acne I take a break or just put on Phytoretinol and essences, as I said, I often get random break outs when the weather suddenly gets hot.

What do you recommend as a substitution for Vaseline for those with acne-prone skin?

Are you kidding me? Is this really a thing? I’ve been doing this for a couple of years but stopped because everyone else says never to do it so I stopped but I always loved the way my skin felt in the mornings. Thank you for sharing ❤

I have been using Vaseline for thirty years and have no wrinkles. I do use a serum after blotting the vaseline then a moisturizer. I am seventy seven and have no wrinkles.
