You may have seen my last install video of the first generation of this product and this will nearly follow the exact same install. All in all this has been my preferred phone mount and to this day I still think this is the best viewing angle to mount your phone in your tesla. There is no view of any power cords with its built in design; and it looks more on the OEM side. With this new upgrade of a small instrument cluster display on the other side, this makes the best phone mount even better for your tesla model 3 or tesla model y. My name is Evan and if you are new here, welcome. I create Tesla content educating anyone wanting to know more about their vehicles and also showcase the many tesla accessories on the market like this one here. Here is what’s included when you receive your new phone mount. The actual phone holder with instrument cluster display, the exact wheel column plastic cover replica, a wiring connector that plugs into the original tesla cord, and finally the included tools you’ll need to install this mount yourself. So let's dive right into this installation process here.
When first using it, I noticed there was no lag. All of the visuals are very responsive and they immediately copied what showed on the main tesla screen. Everything from turn signals, hazard lights, drive status, state of charge, seat belt indicator, MPH, brake hold icons, door open icons, including the frunk and trunk, headlights enabled along with the brights icon all appeared. A couple added features I was unaware of was the autopilot and speed limit icon. With the autopilot logo, this mini display shows you when the tesla can be enabled for autopilot as you see right here, it's gray, indicating its ready to be active. I turn on autopilot and then it turns blue which I really like. Also the speed limit icon was perfectly accurate with what my main tesla display showed. You can see that the speed will change color to yellow when you go even 1 mph over the limit and then back to white color when back below the limit. There are 3 different themes with this device, I preferred the one on the top to be the more useful showing the most data. To change the theme just hold down the left scroll wheel for 5 secs and let go when the mini display turns off. When turning the mount around the instrument display with auto turn off and now we can charge and hold our phone at the same time. This, in my opinion, is the perfect viewing angle for google or waze maps. Any phone with built in wireless charging, including magsafe, with a width under 3.74 inches will work with this mount. Just push the bracket downward with your phone and place it into the holder. Your phone will begin to charge high speed wirelessly at 15W handsfree. By no means is it going to slip out of the holder when driving.
Driving around at night it's pretty good, what I mean by this is the screen could be a little more dim, but this by far better than some of the other screens I have tried out for the tesla. As you can see the screen will still auto dim with the main tesla screen. Looking at my preferred cluster display theme at night, it's not too bright but as you can see it’s not nearly as dark as the main tesla screen. The second theme at night I think may work better as it does appear night themed with the blue haze in the background. Finally the 3rd option with the red ring in my opinion is a little too bright for the night. Again switching between these different types of themes is as easy as holding down the left scroll wheel for 5 seconds and it will switch. You don't even need to be in park for this to switch. Finally you can see which doors are open as you see my driver door, when opened, will show up on the mini display. This goes for any open door including the frunk and trunk.

Not bad... but I'd like to see a version of this with MagSafe instead of the claw phone holder. And for the price, and OLED display for true blacks at night. Another great video, thanks Evan.
Just installed on my 2022 MY-LR with AMD. While easier to plug in the data part of the cable, the PITA was taking off the center console for the wireless charging plug. I thought that I could get away with just plugging into the blue port but nope, power is gathered from the wireless charging port so both are mandatory. I found a video on how take off the center console, however it requires a lot of force to get the piece loose, just short of trying to break the darn thing. Still, satisfying feeling when it's all said and done. Happy with the display, as of now.
Installed today on my new 2022 Model Y performance. Had to use a mix of install vids (this one and the Hanshow) to get it done. It seems the new under dash panels are secured with more clips / screws. I ended up running wires through top dash, Hanshow video says go below. I have the AMD chips and once you run the wires it goes right together. Much easier than the old underdash hook up from past extra monitors. Have the kit. Would be really nice if they made it detachable… then you could return OEM look anytime with a sumple cover over the mounting slot
You can. Just remove the two swivel base mounting screws. It does not pop out. You will have a small exposed slot.. Would be nice if the made a cover… but you could get one 3D printed.

Can it be installed on the 2023 Model Y RWD?
As in the uk ours cars are rhd the wire will need to be longer as our connector Will be all the way to the left have they made a alternative lead if not can you ask them to make one for RHD market

Also , You say our connector goes "all the way in the left" wouldnt the LHD cars have the connector "All the way to the right" ? so should be the same length
It’s the same for either I believe as the computer is always on the passenger side
On my Jan delivered M3 RHS Drive It fitted just fine. I fount the main connector spare on RHS door area.. did not even need a splitter cable… for power I tapped into power from the wireless charging pad on centre console.
I just had mine installed, when I hold down the left scroll wheel there is a menu that pops up and doesn’t allow me to change the screen theme on the screen. Has anyone else ran into that?
Wish there could be a bit cheaper verison without the charger

When I go in to order it it ask for either right hand drive or left hand drive . What does that mean ? I don’t understand that?

Can you ask handshow for less ,I found same unit for less elsewhere. Have to wait 2 to 3 weeks for it .the guy say handshow bought it from them.
You have to be careful where you get cheaper versions at. Typically they have no return policy or customer service help.
Would installing this void Tesla warranty?
This is all plug and play and will not void the warranty.
Too complicated - make it wireless
If there was no wire, you phone will not charge.
