Such was the aura and fear of Dahaka that my fingers froze whenever he appeared and my Prince avatar died several deaths because of that. Perhaps I was more afraid of Dahaka than the Prince himself. The sound of hooves approaching accompanied with surrounding darkness as he closed in on you... The Dahaka was dread in two legs
I always felt bad for the Dahaka. It was scary looking, no doubt, but it was only doing its job, a job that protected all of reality from being destroyed by paradoxes. In this story, the Dahaka was actually the good guy, and the Prince was the bad guy.
Yeah, it's a tough situation. I feel for both sides. The dahaka was doing its job, while the prince inadvertently screwed up the timeline trying to fix the mistakes he made (no sarcasm; that's a pretty messed up situation).
That's why I think the bad ending is more appropriate. The Dahaka can't be defeated, for it is interlinked with time. Only through trickery can the violators of time escape their fate and while the Prince acomplished this, Kaileena didn't. It's very close to the concept of inevitability of ancient greek tragedy, where not everyone can escape their doom.
@@hebanker3372 I agree, personally I did like the concept of The Dahaka being invincible, however if it were also immune to water than it most CERTAINLY would've killed/erased The Prince

After all this time I only now realize that Dahaka runs after you, literally. I was always too afraid to look back panning the camera because of how quickly he stomped his at you, but now it's clear that he's not walking, he's legitimately running after the Prince like Flash. Also, he's a bit slow runner so he is actually skipping time for himself to fast forward his destination which is why he's always close. Basically, anyone who releases the sands of time is destined to die. Prince released it in first game. So he’s destined to die and dahaka will kill him. So what is prince plan? He tries to convince empress she doesn’t believe him because she knows her destiny is to die by prince. Because the empress IS some weird personification of the sands of time. Killing her RELEASED sands of time. So now he needs a new plan. Bring the empress into the present

This game definitely had its own vibe and good vibe, it made me feel the desolation of the places, this game is dark both in terms of atmosphere and storywise.
As a child, each segment with the chase was very frightening. In general, this game was like a maze in those days. It was difficult, confusing, incomprehensible, it was hard for a child (at least for me) to understand it. But I kept playing for, like, months.
The fear running through you, when you were running for your life and all you can hear are those pounding footsteps getting closer and closer, and you can't even look back...
I still remember when I first played this game, during one of the chases I thought I had a lead on him and then I heard that noise at 3:36 and I felt chills all over my body.

One of the best game from the franchise of POP. I’ve literally completed this game 5 times, and only 2 times I defeated Dhaka. I had to googled all the life upgrades just to get that water sword 🔥
Scary thing is, the prince is the only one that ESCAPED the dahaka. If you reverse the voicelines of the Dahaka, there is a line that goes something like "All who have come before you have fallen" and "No one escapes the dahaka". Prince was the only fortunate one, obtained all the life upgrades, got the water sword, and killed the Dahaka
the prince's movement made sure that you were slow enough to constantly worry for your life but just nimble enough to escape it's grasp, what a genius move on the developers. Of course the island being an open world hub showed just how experienced they are in player engagement and game design.

In remake i would suggest Ubisoft to put dahaka randomly visit and slowly absorb sands if he is getting closer and closer. And in mask the wrath form sands+health bar.
Yes, the terror I experience playing this game, the moment my laptop get laggy on the Dahaka chase sequence makes it a pure terror, now I can play this game on my computer without worrying about lag but nope I'm not playing it again because the fear of being chased by it still lingers inside my mind and heart(Though I kinda love the adrenaline, my heart beat so fast yet I love it, weird) though I hate the fixed camera on the chase sequence but without it wouldn't make a impact and create long lasting memory from this game.
I have played this game so much that i have learnt evey place of every realm like a map in my mind and dahaka chasing is the best part of this game.... so much love and memory of childhood...
I had the privilege of playing Sands of time, Warrior within and the 2 thrones a few years when I had more stamina. Sometimes I played this for 8 hours straight. It was a thrill when the Dahaka showed up. Unforgettable experience.
The fact that the camera in these old games used to turn around without my permission is what truly gave me the most chills. Like, I was running forward and now the camera turns around to make sure I fail.
I have a playlist titled 'Videos that tell me to keep going', very few make it in. They are either super funny or super serious, the reason this got added is if a man managed to survive the embodiment of death, we humans can get through our problems in our own ways.

In remake i would suggest Ubisoft to put dahaka randomly visit and slowly absorb sands if he is getting closer and closer. And in mask the wrath form sands+health bar.
That moments when my hands shake and brain stop
I miss those moments...😔
Btw best soundtracks
POP is still gold. And everytime that Metal music comes in, my heart pounds out of my chest.
I remember the hand cramps I used to get during these chases
I legit stopped moving sometimes just because i was afraid of Dahaka. Now im speedrunning this masterpiece of a game :>
I wish they would remaster this trilogy one of the best for sure! And hearing him stomping behind you in those chase posts was no joke
I had so many nightmares of Dahaka chasing me.
Yes, the terror I experience playing this game, the moment my laptop get laggy on the Dahaka chase sequence makes it a pure terror, now I can play this game on my computer without worrying about lag but nope I'm not playing it again because the fear of being chased by it still lingers inside my mind and heart(Though I kinda love the adrenaline, my heart beat so fast yet I love it, weird) though I hate the fixed camera on the chase sequence but without it wouldn't make a impact and create long lasting memory from this game.
the feeling when u see the last cutscene for the first time 😮💨
I have played this game so much that i have learnt evey place of every realm like a map in my mind and dahaka chasing is the best part of this game.... so much love and memory of childhood...
I had the privilege of playing Sands of time, Warrior within and the 2 thrones a few years when I had more stamina.
Sometimes I played this for 8 hours straight.
It was a thrill when the Dahaka showed up.
Unforgettable experience.
No assassin creed will come near to this masterpiece... though no hate to AC game but you know why we still love POP ❤ always a GOAT...
The dahaka used to scare the living shit out of me. I see it in my dream, in class, at the dinning table. Everywhere. Haunted me for years.
Only 20 minutes ? When it chased me felt like ages
The fact that the camera in these old games used to turn around without my permission is what truly gave me the most chills. Like, I was running forward and now the camera turns around to make sure I fail.
I haven't played this game since I had a PS2, it was one of the best games I've ever played.
If you played the game you would simultaneously hate the Dahaka parts and love playing it too. The game is an absolute banger.
Yeah if you are playing it for 1st time than you would hate it
I have a playlist titled 'Videos that tell me to keep going', very few make it in. They are either super funny or super serious, the reason this got added is if a man managed to survive the embodiment of death, we humans can get through our problems in our own ways.
5:05 - 5:07 The power, the presence
Ahh, this game brings back so many memories.. Greatest game of all time, hands down!
4:35 is clearly a very bad glitch. The Prince wouldn’t go out there Dahaka would get him😅
Ohh I remember the 1st time I saw dahaka, thought I was gonna die for real. Fast heartbeats and as the title suggests, pure terror. Actually took a break to calm down before finishing the mission. Scary as hell til this day.
