I have a lock and chain just like that. I pass the chain around the rear frame under the seat and through the back wheel. This way the thief can't simply drive it off, once they figure out how to dislodge whatever it's attached to.
Don't use U-locks. Actually had a thief break the locking mechanism with a strong kick. Luckily they were too dumb and didn't know what choke was. Unfortunately, the idiots destroyed my fairing trying to hot-wire a toggle switch. Facepalm.
You know that you can just cut the chain and steal it that way..but nice video..
not expecting a reply as this comment is many years old, but for those wondering the specs on that kind of chain are as high as you can expect at about 5 minutes to cut through using an angle grinder. Invest in one, or even two to bring it to 10 minutes, plus a locking alarm that screams when attempting to move the bike and the thief won't have enough privacy for long enough to steal it.
