Great work. Repetition is key. I'm currently attempting the nightmare myself and it's a different animal from the base game. Claire's scenarios especially. I'm doing a Claire A run and it's kicking my behind. Her weapons does not make it easy.
yup, Crossbow is almost useless and grenade launcher have less ammo

@@STARS_RedfieldYeah there's no getting around the fact that Leon has the better arsenal of the two, that's part of what I like about Leon B, other than it being the canon route you can get the magnum MUCH earlier than you can in Leon A

Actually the Arrange Mode of old school RE2 is much easier than the Original Version because you get a submachine gun from the start plus a rocket launcher and gatling gun with infinite ammo in the item box

You should totally check out the Seamless HD mods for original RE1, 2 & 3. Doesn't change anything gameplaywise but it cleans up loooooots of the textures and makes everything look really nice. Backgrounds are gorgeous, nice crisp text and menu icons too.

Can someone help me out? I thought to get S rank you have to beat it under 2.5 hours, no saves, and no healing items? I did all that and only got an "A" ranking? Granted I completed the game in danger -- does it have to be perfect, i.e. no damage?
S rank is only for Japanese version.
In PAL/US it's a A Rank

Oui, il y a d'autres défi pour débloquer le reste comme trouver tous les fichiers, pièces antiques, Mister Ray et terminer le jeu en survie.

Yeah, the crit rate is kinda higher than what we got in RE HD remaster.
Also, for the beginning, i did restart sometimes because I didn't had enough crit shots and so I did waste too much ammo.
Keep in mind that this one of my try where I wa sthe most lucky (atleast fot the beginning) with crit shots ^^
For the Recording, I was using Nvidia Share (Ex Shadowplay) and playing the PC version.
I just want to say thank you for skipping all the doors lmao.
This is why I love the japanese version

I remember beating both scenarios in 2h 17min on N64 version with about 10 years old. No save and no first aid spray.
My oldest brother (13 years older than me) never made it.

Working on doing a run of this on my dreamcast, I made the mistake of grabbing the special key though (so I don't have any of the beginning ammo) and a lot of the zombies don't headshot even after firing up to 20 shots. It can be pretty tough! xD Great run mate!
Yeah, I've also made several runs where I didn't have luck with the headshots xD
I had to reset quite a lot just because of that :D

@@endyourway8751 yes, but you are going to use the knife a lot. And most of the zombies tends to throw themselves on thé ground trying to eat your feet.
You'll need around 50 knife hits to kill a zombie

Does Sherry not take damage around the 1:00:07 mark?
It doesn't count as damage. (You can check it out with the SRT www.speedrun.com/re2/resources)
But if you do nothing you will be instantly killed.

I was really hope you’d do the moth boss
I barely have any grenade rounds left to fight birkin and 0 health items besides 2 herbs. Claire B is much more forgiving with its free Rocket Launcher but Claire A?? Dog Birkin just kills me before i even get the chance to unload all 12 Grenade Rounds. Also, the 6 shooter needs constant reload and the zombies charge at you exactly when claire starts reloading, its a real pain compared to Leon's Semi-Auto Handgun.

Basically if you want to be sucessful with it, you must train for hours with Infinite ammo.
By the Time i made this video, i was jobless and got a lot of free Time.

I have the game and I'm trying to beat it on hard mode also. But I have to know, how do you shoot your hand gun that fast? I know I can run through this mode if I know how to.
basically, you aim, you shoot.
When shooting, release Aim button and spam it.

That trick works only with the handguns in RE2 where it works with almost all weapons in RE3.
Fun fact: That bug wasn't intentionnal, but when the devs found it, they decided to let it inside the game.
@@STARS_Redfield Really? That's pretty cool that they left it in the game. I mean I'm sure you have to be pretty skilled though to do it. I just got a Dreamcast bundle with RE2, RE3, and Code V; and I'm trying to beat them (on hard) before REmake 2 is out....... 3 MORE WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is not a psx version. When I start gamer on my psx there are only 2 modes, easy and normal.
You play on arrange mode which is impossible.

Also, this seems like a later PC release but not the version from 1998... I have just attempted the PC version where there's not that fast shooting feature... Claire A in Hard mode is one of the hardest challenges I have tried from Resident evil 2 & 3 ever.
Crossbow is useless to kill virtually anything, aside from maybe helpful for bosses. Gun is so slow. Grenades are so few to obtain. Normal grenades hardly kill anything.
I wish crossbow at least to allow increasing this random headshot with normal gun against zombies.
Leon at least has this automatic gun that may help, but frankly Hard mode is such a pain in the ass with those inmortal zombies that take up to 20-25 gun shots to just be beaten down without a headshot... Which is very unreliable.
I just wanted to point out that you did a good job studying last Birkin's transformation/battle. That boss is the hardest nightmare in Hard mode for claire since on how very few useful weapons you have available, but also that boss does massive damage in hard mode as well lol. It's a whole nightmare to play with. A bit unbalanced in my opinion.

Explosives are good for bosses (especially Birkin G4)
You really want to spare ammo here, i had to restart few Time because too much ammo wasted
Zombies are bullet sponge, but i love it, they really feel like zombies

You need to use the rapid fire trick shots.

@@jereferia3372 Thanks, by the way, the Eagle 6.0 is one of the only weapon in RE3 that cannot use the rapid fire trick because it already shoot faster by default :D
owww really ? yeah I noticed this before, eagle 6.0 is quickly draw , that's my favorite handgun in R.E fast shooting and gives a critical shot , round saving gun , it has ability to decapitating zombies just in a single shot .

How to unlock Hard mode?
It's only available on certain version of the game. Like the japanese or dreamcasts one.
Complete the game onc ein normal, then you'll get the Hard mode.

So weird that Japanese hard mode still has less zombies and enemies than North American Normal. You'd think the Japanese version would be harder.
All ennemies are really more resilient, especially the boss. Not to mention the damage they dealt :)
Zombies can take up to 15/20 bullet from handgun before being killed (without the critical), they are almost invulnerable from the crossbow.
Arrange mode has the US/PAL enemy placement

It occurs randomly, I don't know the exact % but it's a specificity of the Hard mode.

Thank god they stopped using those god awful camera angles in later re games lol
Ryan Slocum Kinda upset that they stopped using it, I mean that's what makes these games known for and unique and you'll never know what may come out in each camera angle (making it more scary)
