Another great video, Jarett. I really like the idea of printing the same structure with various different systems. I think the industry as a whole will benefit greatly from direct experimentation like that. James and Kyndra, I look forward to seeing how this project (and the others you’ll do) will progress. It’s a bright time for the construction industry as a whole.
"Something" is giving thanks to this amazing technology and the good people stepping up to do the work required to make homelessness and inadequate housing ancient concepts, like the horse and buggy / stagecoach in the transportation field. Double Joy! Thanks for this guide through the process. I'm in the process here in Arizona. This report gives me hope. As nicely as I could, I am not a nice person, I explained that of course there are no codes regarding 3d printing buildings. The code book goes back to the 1980's. It's time to develop a national code structure for these buildings - roads / bridges too. We also need to get some 3d printers to print 3d printers. It's basically a computer (wi-fi assumed), filament container, filament hose, printer heads (per material) and a gantry. Another great production Jarett Gross. You do a grand and glorious job of documenting the turning tide in the construction industry. The late Charles Kuralt, the founding broadcaster of the legacy program CBS Sunday Morning, would be proud of you. The caring journalist style shines through you. Jarrret me I have the name off some builder construction, i need make a large fence 4.00 m tall so i need wich is the best company to do this fence ? thanks this buildin is in México City
I’ve seen tons of Cobod projects all around the world and I’ve never seen a single Mudbots project. I’ve tried very hard, they won’t let me. I’m not sure if there is one.
The wood roofs MUST be eliminated and the print needs to be one piece to completed house.. like a dome print but with perhaps better aesthetics... the additional labor and expense of a typical wood roof is prohibitive.
Ideally you’d have a different roof system or at least some fireproofing in a wild fire prone region. The concrete should be fine but hasn’t been fire rated yet.
Any new technology should always go hand in hand with totally new design and structural system. This combination of 3D printed walls and wooden roof does not work. I am though very interested in 3D printing technology and watching it very closely.
"we'll see if they cover the 3-D print with drywall" lol bro that misses the whole point of 3-D printing. Drywall sucks. Matchstick home construction sucks.
It was very nice of Kyndra and James to give us the tour at this stage of construction. Many helpful lessons learned from their test project!

Congratulations.This is a step forward
Glad they were honest about their obstacles and limitations.
Great video Jarett. Thanks James and Kendra for walking through the project :-)
Nice reporting work Jarett. And nice job to the Lights!
These guys are great! And they gave very respectable reasons to be building. 👏🏻
would be interesting to go back and see it completely finished, plastered, furnished etc..
@@mandofan2616 Agreed 🙂
25:20 Beautiful people, beautiful hearts, wish you all the success
Awesome
Looking forward to how the future will look as this tech matures
Much appreciated Thanks
Amazing work James. Keep the good work up.

Are the printing geopolymer or regular concrete?
Great company to deal with
be great to know how well the house stood upto the hurricane Ian in Florida.

What part of florida is this
Hi Jarrett, great video. what is going to be the estimated cost of this house once finished?
Great question when it’s done hopefully they share that info.
Can I get more information?
Hi Jarett, is the website link of James and Kyndra correct?
Just fixed it thanks for letting me know

How would you compare cobod to mudbots?

I just bought property in Vance Co.North Carolina.
I think hurricane 🌀 can't touch it
Prefab would make more sense
🤗😎😍😍😍

You’re using 1000 year vision
@@automateconstruction I don't think so. They can already make dome structures by 3d print.
Could 3d printed homes withstand wild fires?
