@@survivallillyshorts This reminds me of the Geological field tripp when we collected million year old shells from a stone quary and I had them all (14 kg) in my backback. hell, that was heavy. I like the idea with the bricks, but in Leipzig city it is much easier to find them around, than in rather rural areas of Austria. I lately collected some bricks from a builders container to build a fire plalce in the backyard. Nice video. All love from Germany, Stay healthy.
that is very first time i seen that kind of bricks in the river .. sure that river bed is very dry .. very nice scenery too .. and you know what lilly ... i love yiur dog .. he is funny the way carring the small rock or bricks lmao
I use 5 gallon buckets with sticks(2" deep& 1" leaves on top) then the rest is soil. I drill 1/4" drain holes at the 2" mark on the sides of the bucket. It gives me a 2" reservoir at the bottom. Uni
I'm trying Container Gardening this year for my 1st time. and trying to get my neighbors more invloe. I LOVE OLD BRICKS!!! I MEAN REALLY FRIGGIN LOVE Hunting Bricks while out dig'n for Old Glass Bottles. Happens that I have an Empty House in my yard; this is my 7th Summer & ONLY THIS YEAR Discovered that this home has/had a BRICK WALKWAY that had been covered for who knows how long? Now th, I get to Repurpose them now-a-days
Will the brick soak up some of the heat in the summer?.. I would think that that would also help the soil from drying out in the hottest part of summer..
Only an Austrian would think that backpacking 25 kilos of brick from a river to an urban garden was “Free”! LOL! I love Amy.
but it was only like 15kg :)
@@survivallillyshorts then you could have made another trip before it got dark!
@@rcg5317 didnt have the time :/

Working for an mineral exploration company in New Guinea i lumped a lot of heavy stream samples from those rivers. Helicopters made it tolerable.

great idea. I have heaps of bricks. I thought tomatoes didn't like a lot of water.

Wow! My DumbDroid is having a Fit !!! it's not giving me much of. Keyboard to use until I'm telling you'nz now
Would the brick compete with the plant roots for water ? If the brick dries out under the soil, would it soak up water meant for the plant ?
Good idea Lilly!
Interesting idea. Will give it a try.
I bet these bricks are made of plastic! Love your videos. YUMMY your strawberries looks super healthy!
How long do you think those bricks were in that river bead to become so worn down?

the brick will have the same temperature as the soil
such as expanded clay ?
Nice Strawberry Gardening Like me
A rough surface may indicate a porus, useful brick, rather than a vitreous, useless brick.
I'm not sure about that idea Lilly, it would be a good idea if it works, brick will dry like soil .
Lilly.
yes but as it drys it releases the water to the dry soil. Get it?
This is BS.
