  • A man dies under mysterious circumstances whilst in police custody. Is someone on the Chicago P.D. behind his death?
From Chicago Justice Season 1 Episode 2 'Uncertainty Principle' - Stone and the state's attorney team look into the events of the arrest and death of a young man. They set out to place charges against medical personnel, the fire department, and the police.
Chicago Justice (2016 - 2017): Dick Wolf's Chicago universe expands into the city's State's Attorney's office, where a dedicated team of prosecutors and investigators navigates the challenging world of politics and controversy while fearlessly pursuing justice. The city's high-stakes cases often capture the attention of the media, forcing State's Attorney Mark Jefferies, Assistant State's Attorney Peter Stone, Chief Investigator Antonio Dawson and Investigator Laura Nagel to balance public opinion, embedded power struggles and their unwavering passion for the law.

Was taken in for possession of a controlled substance, likey believed to be on drugs, or drunk. It'd pretty common for them to do that. Though the police at the station or the arresting officers should have taken them to be checked at the medical center. I don't know who the lady is but it's not really her job to make a medical decision, more then likely just inform the station officers

BLUE BLOODS season 4 had a similar episode back in April of 2014: the officer strangled the guy to death who was in custody. Everyone says he was just defending himself against a violent criminal BUT the officer had already done something similar to this in the past, so while the grand jury decided to let him keep his job, the POLICE COMMISSIONER fired him.

To everyone commenting, "Oh she saw him trembling, she knew something was wrong" That's what withdrawals and coming down off a high look like. The fact that he was introduced as a "boozer" who was in there for possession of a controlled substance says enough. Whether he was reacting to not having drugs or not, all signs were pointing to withdrawal from narcotic use. There are no medications or treatments that are effective for dealing with withdrawal that don't have serious and dangerous side effects.

Which can still kill you so needs medical attention? Your point holds no weight when it’s also common knowledge, as I said, that withdrawal (ESPECIALLY from alcohol funny enough) can be fatal. She’s complicit it whatever crimes lead to his death bc she saw an sick dude in a cell and instead of questioning authority and doing what was right, (having emts check on him as is a regular occurrence not only at jails, but on scene at arrests). That’s why everyone is mad. Morally she also committed a crime. But she was also very very green. She wouldn’t feel like it’s her place to say anything and get on the bad side of the supposed good guys

@@user-ig3oq7ty7m I've seen a whole lot of clips here on UA-cam for the various Chicago shows where cops and especially doctors made mistakes or decisions that had serious consequences. Even in this case, it actually *was* in part the cops fault, because they just assumed the druggie was having drug-related symptoms, and no one looked very closely at him until after it was too late.
