    I just animated a craft with flappy wings, no feathers. But I parented the bones to vertices I controlled in GN and the motion was 10x easier to create than if I had done it traditional. This video was killer! Your book is too.

    I bought your book. It serves as a good reminder. The most useful part def was the examples and tips. You should really add more. Like putting an example of all the most common practices per node. That would 4x your book's value imo. Make it the actual go to book for geo node. And if you could give most common application examples for the math nodes that would even be better as this is usually where people struggle most. It's a good base/reminder. But has crazy potential that hasn't been harnessed. Also is missing the texture node section with examples.

    I haven't finished the tutorial yet but I'm sure it will be great as always. It is just a pity that the cube wasn't selected in viewport when you started adding Geometry Nodes, because without the orange outline the lines you create in the beginning are hardly visible thanks to YT compression. I comment this every once in a while on tutorials, I personally often do not like like to see the orange outline either when working on something because it sometimes distracts from the original appearance, but when I watch tutorials especially on my TV it is hard to see what's going on. But maybe I'm just an unfortunate single case.

    • @mtranimation
      @mtranimation  13 днів тому +2

      Thank you! Tbh I never even thought of that but let's see what I can do in the future :)

    • @gordonbrinkmann
      @gordonbrinkmann 13 днів тому

      @@mtranimation Maybe it is not even YT compression per se, but the compression in the YT streaming app on the TV, because on the computer it is okay.
      I guess apart from having the object selected and getting an orange outline the only solution would be to set a different Wire color in the Preferences, but this might be just as undesirable as the orange outline. The thickness cannot be changed, only for edges in Edit Mode.
      Probably I just have to live with it if most people are watching this on their PC and do not experience any issues.

    Great tutorial. Given the timing of Marvel's new cap amer movie coming out Feb. 14, Brave New World. Who has exo wings, right.
    Even if just as a marketing experiment. See if you can ride the algo to get more exposure. Your content deserves to be seen by more people.
    Another suggestion for a possible follow up video to this one. Is to make gizmos for different wing rotations. I think a lot of noodlers would like to see that.

    Your set up doesn't work for me in Blender 4.3, you have to add Realize Instances nodes on all 3 curves before joining them or the final joined curves points aren't what you expect.
