For a little over 20 years, I had two Persians & later, Himalayans. They were very precious to me, and I found their upkeep a bit challenging. They didn't car for grooming, so they were sometimes matted. Their tear ducts tend to get blocked, so cleaning their eyes was a daily chore. I discovered that cats have hemoglobin in their tears, & that's what makes their tears stain their periorbital regions. Yes, I'd have them again in a heartbeat, but be advised they need a little more attention to them over other cats.
