Hi Donal, I just wanted to say thank you for such a lovely recipe. I'm originally from Arizona in the states (where you most definitely don't get wild garlic!) and have watched your videos for a long, long time. I remember seeing this video (along with the Pesto one) when it first came out and always wished I could live in an area where I could forage and make something this delicious. Fast-forward 7 years, and I'm now living in southern England with my partner. This morning I went out for the first time to forage some wild garlic that I spotted on a local walk. I remembered this video and just finished making and trying the scones. They are delicious!!! I cannot contain the excitement. I am also a huge fan of the summer pavlova cake and the thai green curry chicken recipes, also from years ago. They have been my staples for many a family gathering. Your recipes and your food have impacted my life in many ways, all for the better. Thank you so much for everything.
tried this recipe yesterday - my husband and I are HOOKED. making these scones again this coming weekend for my in-laws hehe. thanks for the yummy recipes as always!
these look so delicious and so quick and easy! With the holidays coming around I will definitely be making these :) you always have such great easy to follow recipes xx!
I just made them with chives, because I didn't have wild garlic. They are SO delicious! I'm not sure, if I've ever had a scone before, so I don't know, of that's what they should taste/look/feel like, but I love them😍
As my father in law grows wild garlic in his garden but never uses it, I thought I had to try these. I made them with glutenfree flour so they look a bit different, but they taste amazing! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe!
I think that "wild garlic" is called "ramps" in the NY State area. They're sometime sold at farmers markets, but are quite rare otherwise. I'll have to try these with chives.
when u said "at this time of year wild garlic is found throughout the forests of ireland" i was feeling you man. in my country you can find it on every field as well and is very tricky to find new and interesting recipes.
Interesting way to make a scone--here in the US we don't use any eggs. Milk to soften the dough, cold butter and baking powder to puff it up. Will have to try this way
Oh great recipe! I do not have wild garlic in the area where I live, but there is PLENTY of wild Sandleek (known as Skogslök or Kajplök in Swedish) this time of the year, almost in our backyard. Maybe I will try making this with those instead :)
scrumptious scones... I did a chives and cheddar before. Good idea - I will try and substitute and follow your recipe. I'll bake this for my friends to celebrate the Queens birthday this Saturday English Tea and Scones ;-)
Are scones the same as biscuits? We don't have those in Brazil so I don't know the difference. I tried making it one day and it was a miserable fail, will be trying this recipe soon, maybe you could show a traditional sweet one too?
Your recipe looks delightful, however, if I have to convert all the measurements to ounces, etc, I probably won't make them. Would it be possible to also give alternate measurements?

Hi Donal! I love savoury scones, and this recipe is fantastic! Was wondering though, can I substitute the wild garlic or chives with spring onions?
Good question.
Says up top you can substitute chives or spring onions.
I never thought of making savory scones. Looks yummy!

@donalskehan I think it's very easy to make. I am scared to work with yeast... This is a super cool bread

Looks yummy! Could you substitute coconut and almond flour for the flour here?
I love wild garlic!! Could I just leave out the cheese? Would it affect the texture at all?
Please give mesurements for beginners.
God bless you.Greetings from Austria 💐

I had wild garlic growing in my garden in London, pretty flowers but it stinks

Are scones the same as biscuits? We don't have those in Brazil so I don't know the difference. I tried making it one day and it was a miserable fail, will be trying this recipe soon, maybe you could show a traditional sweet one too?

Your recipe looks delightful, however, if I have to convert all the measurements to ounces, etc, I probably won't make them. Would it be possible to also give alternate measurements?
