I love what he did with his van! If I didn't have a bad back I would go that route! I love my van but for all those looking to get into van life. Less is more! Piece and love to all! ✌❤
My Astro is going to have a very simple and clean build as this. Love the live edge counter. The slide out bed will work great since I have a dog that will travel with me.
Clean van! FWIW a full mattress fits perfectly in the back of an astro. My awd astro is a work van until the weekend comes around, then the tools go in the garage and the mattress in the back. chuck a cooler between the seats and you're good to go! Never understood the bed builds with sinks/etc.
Hello from Germany! Tomorrow i will have a look on a 95 Astro. For sure i will buy it. We docnt have that much here in germany. I like the Astro a lot more then a VW.
This was a very good tour. A little on the short side. But it was very well done. Loved the transitions at the start. That was really clean, music was fitting. I think the only missing element that I like about vanlife people is themselves. Seems like a cool enough guy, but I don't know much about him other than he lives in or travels in his van. Interviews are key in my videos. But don't be like me, do what works for you of course. Even just him talking for five minutes is enough to keep it going. If you would like to know how I do my interviews Id be happy to tell you some time. Great work my friend. I hope this one does great!
Travis Travels thanks for dropping by. Yeah I made it all about the van this time. I guess I need to find that balance. Thanks homie. Looking forward to your dating video
Hey Bro!! I really like your setup!! Great use of space and done right! I have a Safari van that I am converting and I will definitely remember your setup!! Thanks for the tour!!!
We just bought a 95, picking it up in a couple days. We also have an 03. I think the wheels are 15" instead of 16" and no 4-wheel disc brakes, but are there any other differences? We thought it was a 98 when we bought it online :/
"Just threw some battery operated little dingly lights" "So are those connected to your battery station?" ...... "No...those are just AA batteries" "So it's a separate power system" 🤣🤣🤣
Great Build.. just curious, what bed liner did you use to protect the lower part of the van and the bumper? And has it lasted pretty well? And you guys didn't lift it at all.. just bigger wheels and tires?
Great Practical Platform!! ...but the 'only' thing holding me 'back'...No Fixed High Roof/Pop Up Roof! i NEED To be able To 'Stand up' Straight in the Van! Can't see myself 'Hunched Over'...like that....That's just me though....lol..
Did those t-slider windows come with the van, or did you install them yourself? I’m considering getting some for mine, but not quite sure how to it exactly lol.
@@isaacturnerit The Astro just seems like the best deal for a half-year trip. It's cheap, you can get AWD one, and you can even find one with a hi top.
That doesn't look like a 1995 looks more like a 2000-2005 you can tell by the facelift and the interior lights. still looks great tho I want to do something like that for my 2000 Edit: I forgot after a quick Google search that they started doing the facelift option for the Astro in 1990 I thought it started in 1999 I'm a little confused about the top lights though because they look like the ones off of my 04 that I have but my 2000 doesn't have those And my 98 has the same as my 2000
I don't understand why folk add all that weight with the heavy and dense wood materials. The sink serves no purpose either, too small. and all that solar and using Triple A batteries? very weird set up.
I got enough out of it to complete my Astro and my Safari vans. I like these so much I bought two of them. So practical and versatile. These are wonners.

Vanlife_ Unchained yo just to get into it I say just roll! We love being able to stand though
You’ve given me my vision for my 2005 AWD Astro. Thank you!!!
Hi it’s not my van! Hit up @jl.human on insta. He is the owner he can let ya know

Some people just like building it in
Different being a weekend camper vs long term/full time.
Safe travels, we bought. 1995 GMC Vandura and it is almost ready for road trips. See you out there traveling.

Nice. Super simple set up. Clean and easy
Vagabond RoBUStico Skoolie yeah I thought it was a really cool little set up

@@isaacturnerit it's pretty funny lol. Probably one of my best ones yet.
Excellent ideas for my 2000 astro !! Very clean nice and simplistic! Good job ! Love it
Awesome van tour guys!!! Love how professional the build out is. Soooo classy!!!
Appreciate y’all! You are my UA-cam inspo!
This looks nice. I just test drove a 2003 Astro that I think I’m gonna buy and do a no build build somehow. I like how simple this one is.
Great van, simple with all the necessary needs fulfilled for van living.
CLEAN, SIMPLE AND FUNCTIONAL! HELL YA!!!! NICE VAN!
Love this build! Exactly what I was looking for!
Sapati Tuiolemotu thanks yeah it’s simple and clean
Hey Bro!! I really like your setup!! Great use of space and done right! I have a Safari van that I am converting and I will definitely remember your setup!! Thanks for the tour!!!
darryl hines thanks for checking it out!! Looking forward to your rig. When it’s done and you come thru Oregon let’s do a tour
amazing video A Bus Life Story. I killed that thumbs up on your video. Maintain up the high-quality work.
This gives me hope finding my next home on tight budget!
Hello there! SWEET build! Awesome van!!! Similar to my build!!! Great call with the cargo box!!!
Quick & to the point. Some of these van build ppl talk for 20 minutes about how they couldnt find one specific part no one gives a f about. LMAO
I just bought a 1995 Chevy Astro very much different than my 03 that I totaled a week and a half ago
Dang that sucks man

I'm buying one of these Sunday excited to start my conversion
Short, sweet and to-the-point. Now get the f..k out! I like this guys vibe.
Looking on UA-cam this is the best done Astro I've seen
Check out the "disastrovan" video build. I chose that layout for my cargo van. Best layout hands down.
Like how simple his design is, including the curtain rods for storage….too many ridiculous glamping vans on the market. #true van life
Sweet build I plan on building our Chevy Astro Cargo van
I love the minimalism
Was that a ghost that shot passed the outside @ 1:16? Looked super quick to be a normal person
comment i was looking for , shit scared me
I have a 95 Safari and my build is similar to yours. Sweet ride bro
Lot of inspiration here. Am looking at a Mazda mpv and it’s super comparable to the Astro
Thanks for sharing ..mine is a1997 astro van conversion!! Their Awesome fun and SexyLooking!!!
Jordan where do you put your clothes, dishes and food? It's a really nice layout and very professionally done.
Under his bed
This would make a perfect sleeper setup for OTR Hotshot trucking
Love the paint job and interior. Very Zen minimalist style. Even the box on the roof looks great!
"Just threw some battery operated little dingly lights"
"So are those connected to your battery station?"
......
"No...those are just AA batteries"
"So it's a separate power system"
🤣🤣🤣
Cool build dude!!
Never heard someone say good gas mileage and Astro in the same sentence before 😂
Very spacious. Very inspiring.
Clean van bro
Very minimalist
Simplicity itself. In a good way.
cool build
What size tires are those? We just bought a 95 conversion and are picking it up in a couple days. Love the live-edge, great idea! Thanks!
Great Build.. just curious, what bed liner did you use to protect the lower part of the van and the bumper? And has it lasted pretty well? And you guys didn't lift it at all.. just bigger wheels and tires?
Hey thanks. This is actually my buddies build. He just got a cheap generic bed liner kit. So far it’s lasted well for him
Great Practical Platform!! ...but the 'only' thing holding me 'back'...No Fixed High Roof/Pop Up Roof! i NEED To be able To 'Stand up' Straight in the Van! Can't see myself 'Hunched Over'...like that....That's just me though....lol..
gungfuriceboy I agree! Not hard to add either one of those though
did you see the ghost that happened in the window 1:39
Can u detail your work on your undercarriage in terms of lift and suspension. And anything else you did?
No life or suspension just wheels and tires
Can I get some opinions on this layout versus having the bed at the back?
Amazing job....Peace
The sink/counter is a good idea for the passenger van. I don't know about the gas mileage though.
mpg isn't bad in these
Dude was that a Bigfoot in the background. Something ran across in the background.
Did those t-slider windows come with the van, or did you install them yourself? I’m considering getting some for mine, but not quite sure how to it exactly lol.
In UK my fuel gauge stopped working and I'm at a lost to fix it 😎
I have a question. I bought a 1995 Chevy Astro from the police department. It has 17688 miles. What do you think it’s work?
Only thing stopping me from pursuing this is being to tall to sleep in it (I'm 6'5)
Nice
Very nice. Can you give me the Dimensions of the bed, kitchen area
What went by at 1.16? Looked to move very quickly kind of creepy
How tall is Jordan? He looks like a decent side dude.
He’s like 5ft 5in
@@isaacturnerit well crap. I was really thinking of an astro for my 6'3 ass.
@@jr-wv4qw I know plenty of tall people in astros is it the awd that pulls you. Chevy express is longer
@@isaacturnerit The Astro just seems like the best deal for a half-year trip. It's cheap, you can get AWD one, and you can even find one with a hi top.
@@jr-wv4qw get a high top your straight
How did you build the bed?
The cargo box is not a bad idea
Just did video on my van
Interesting but... It kinda looks like he can't still up on the couch/bed. Seems like that would get frustrating real quick.
3 inches is plenty, right??
Did you have to insulate it
Upon doing research I see the astro van gets horrible mpg 16-18 mpg. Is this true can anyone confirm?
That doesn't look like a 1995 looks more like a 2000-2005 you can tell by the facelift and the interior lights. still looks great tho I want to do something like that for my 2000
Edit:

I'm a little confused about the top lights though because they look like the ones off of my 04 that I have but my 2000 doesn't have those
And my 98 has the same as my 2000
What motor does it have?
At 0:58, what is the BLM acronym?
Bureau of Land Management. Free Camping
@@isaacturnerit thank you! I’m gonna have to do some research on that now.
🙏🏼
How much would you accept to part with it? 🤑
Check me out on off-road Astros and other Vans here on UA-cam
Your water?
What’s the tire dimensions?
Can't hear you brother
looks like the shadow of a child
1:44 ........that's what she said
I don't understand why folk add all that weight with the heavy and dense wood materials. The sink serves no purpose either, too small. and all that solar and using Triple A batteries? very weird set up.
You tube deleted 😒 random comments
That’s super small
Did he say BLM instead of BFE
Sorry min 1:19
Weakkkk
Agreed

Winner's
3:30 what kind of mpg?
