  • The Panguni Utsavam at Kapaleeswara Temple especially the Adhigara Nandi and Arubathimoovar processions ,has always been the most anticipated family outing. It is an awe-inspiring and breathtaking sight and every person to witness this is indeed fortunate.
This viruttam illustrates the magnificent arrival of Goddess Karpagambal along with her parivara Devatas including Poompavai. Thank the Rasika who gave me this verse to explore.
    This followed by
Aval taan anaithayum - a lovely Tamizh composition by Ulundurpettai Shanmugam in Ragamalika set to Adi Talam.
In simple, striking Tamizh, he vividly portrays Shakti, the Divine Feminine. He eloquently describes Shakti in her many manifestations,
being worshipped across the Land. As the compassionate Sivakami in Chidambaram, as the nurturing Abhirami in Tirukadaiyur,
the benevolent Kantimathi in Tirunelveli and the enchanting Kanyakumari.
In the charanam, aptly set in Bagesri, the Goddess is depicted as Meenakshi in Madurai awaiting the Lord to marry her; and in
Kanchipuram as Kamakshi doing penance and in Varanasi or Kashi as Vishalakshi.to bestow Her blessings on the devotees just by
    her Divine glance.
In the final charanam, the composer extols Her as the goddess who gives wisdom in Sirgazhi and the one who grants eternal
salvation from Her Abode in Kailash. The composer concludes with a inspiring final phrase, stating that for the realized souls, she is the Ultimate reality who contemplate Her as a peacock. In Hinduism this bird is associated among other things, with the soul's
    immortality.
In Thirumayilai or Mylapore, the Goddess takes the form of Peacock and performs penance to join Her Divine consort.
This is from a concert at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan in 2023.
    Thankful to Vidwans

The story of poonpavai ( for those who are interested)
There is a legend inextricably associated with Mylapore, the Great Shaivaite Nayanar Sri Thirugnanasambandhar and Poompavai, daughter of Sivanesan Chettiar
    a devout local merchant.
In an unfortunate turn of events, Poompavai dies of a-bite and the father preserves her ashes in a pot, hoping that the great Nayanar will bring her back to life.
On learning of the tragic incident, Gnanasambandhar invokes the Lord by singing a Pathigam - set of devotional verses in Tamizh. Poompavai rises from the ashes.
This pathigam is famously known as the Poompavai Pathigam in which Gnanasambandhar chronicles with remarkable felicity, the numerous festivals that are celebrated at the temple.
One of the highlights of the annual Brahmotsavam festival of Kapaleeswara temple celebrated in the tamizh month of Panguni, is the enactment of this episode on Arupathmoovar (63 shaivaite Saints) day.

There you go again - not caring for proper pronunciation. It’s அருளால் இருளினை, not அருளா*ள்* இருளினை.
