      @@MikeHaysomMusic please can you help me with the chords of a song.. 😐 it's a hindi song. I just bought the ukulele so it's taking too long for me to find the chords. Please find the chords for me 🙏 only the second part of the song.. The song's name is aankhon ke saagar

    • @MikeHaysomMusic
      @MikeHaysomMusic  3 роки тому +1

      @@akankshasharma9516 If you went through the 4 steps you hopefully got the key of C# minor and the song seems to rotate around the chords of A, B and C#m. I think it might add in the chord of F#m in the 2nd section which is perhaps where you are getting stuck. It's worth playing around with the chords from that key along with the song to see what fits best. I'm sorry I haven't time for a thorough analysis but hopefully this helps a little. Best of luck, M.

    Thankyou so much Mike. Actually I play guitar and I have watched a lot of videos related to this topic on guitar, but today I was practicing ukulele and came across your video and it is the perfect video one can ask for. It is due to the clear demonstration of chords because i have always been confused about the concept of chords. Thankyou so much your video has helped a lot.
    I have one request, please make a detailed video like this on modes.

    • @MikeHaysomMusic
      @MikeHaysomMusic  3 роки тому +1

      So glad it helped you! The same concepts apply just as well to guitar (although the chord shapes are obviously different!).
      I have an article planned on modes for UKE Magazine and I may do a more in depth video to accompany that. I don't know if you get UKE Mag but my next article is on the Circle of Fifths - that may also be of interest to you as it shows how chords and keys are related.

      @@MikeHaysomMusic @Mike Haysom Music Yes that's what I said that I was a bit confused about theory concepts and I haven't played ukulele much, but your lesson has helped a lot in making an understanding about chords and specially MODES. Because I didn't understand the concept of borrowed chords in many songs.
      Yes, I know about circle of fifths but i havent implemented it well. It will be great to learn these amazing music theory concepts from you:)

    I'm not able to find the note in the first step itself! I feel bad!! How will I progress to next steps. I cannot humm the tonic note nor find it

    • @MikeHaysomMusic
      @MikeHaysomMusic  3 роки тому +2

      Firstly, don't beat yourself up. Some people can find the note instinctively, others need a little more practice that's all.
      As a tip, try humming the note that the melody/vocal line starts or ends on to see if that fits.

    I'm having a bit of a problem with finding the last chord. I think it goes like this - A , D , Gbm , -
    The song I'm trying to play is "Daļa Rīgas" by Astro'n'out. I tried the table, thought that Fmaj7 would be the one ( I can't really put the fingers like that, but it sounded right 😅) The key I'm playing in, I think, is A/F#m. Can you please help me find the last chord?

    • @MikeHaysomMusic
      @MikeHaysomMusic  2 роки тому +1

      You are almost right. You had the right key - A Major. It goes A, Bm, F#m (Gbm in a flat key), D. So, using the Roman numerals that's I ii vi V, a fairly common chord progression modern pop music. Hope this helps 🙂
