Fantastic, just an awesome video! It's so nice seeing the Redbirds on the IRT, R40 Slants on the , and the R68s on the (Q). And this was just six days away from 9/11... wow. Videos like these are one of the reasons to why I subscribed in the first place. These vintage old videos are just great!

Only thing that looks different from today is the cars in the street, we still have that 3 train.. hard to believe this was over 20 years ago.. THIS VIDEO IS GOLD.
In addition to this being great footage, I can’t help but notice the date. It’s odd, and kind of eerie, seeing people just going about their lives, completely unaware of the horrors that were about to take place. But New Yorkers are resilient and they keep the city moving no matter what, still to this day. Thanks for sharing.
Although I've never lived in Brooklyn but as a former Bronx resident who was born in 84, I mised the Godly Redbird trains on the 4 and the RTS buses. I love this video. Ironically 9/11 happened a week after
Amazing a few weeks before the United states terror attacks. But prior their was al ot of goodies of the old relics of subway cars running. at that time. Excellent footage.👍✅
i also remembered when the the w train used to go to coney island for the replacement of the d train and the f train terminates at avenue x and the q train terminates at brighton beach and n train terminates at 86 st and the b and d trains terminate at 34 st harold square
I've been looking at your videos like crack lately but I was taking the train home from school today when I found myself wondering what it was like on the (3) 20 or so years ago. I've seen the Bronx (5) and the Queens (7) on your channel but I didn't think you would've taped the New Lots Avenue line given the location is relatively uninteresting... and I was wrong! You're amazing!!!
As far as ridership goes, it's not hard to see why the 3 used 9-car trains (even now, it's by far the weakest link of the Brooklyn IRT). Still, I'm glad they run 10-car trains. Also, damn, I'm old (and by that, I mean I literally can't remember the 3 running with only 9 cars just from my scant childhood memories, even though I _can_ remember it using R62As prior to getting the 4's hand-me-downs, and the overlap between both is a circle).
Why was the 4 running to New Lots during a weekday daytime? Wow the upgrades at Atlantic av have really changed the station. It seemed awfully cramped and dingey for a major interchange.
hey trainluvr, do u have any more fottage from the 1990s, I would like to see some films from the West End and Brighton Lines, because those were the best times because the B ran on West End while the D ran on Brighton Local, I would also like to see fottage from some of the IND/BMT and some IRT underground lines of how they looked like back before some were renovated, I would also love to see some late 1980s scenes

Why did 3 trains operated as 9-car trains back then?
Lack of train cars plus some of the storage tracks at Lenox Yard couldn’t accommodate 10-car trains.
What in the early 2000s the a division had 9 car trains?
Only the 3 train did because the platform at 148th Street-Lenox Terminal was one car's length shorter than standard IRT platforms.
