BREAKING: Scottie Scheffler arrested by police before start of PGA championship
#ScottieScheffler #PGA #Golf
What are you ppl talking about?! The man disobeyed direct instructions from the police. He showed entitlement and contempt for the law while pushing a police officer with his car! You're excusing his bad behavior because he plays golf?!
You're excusing average IQ high school graduates with 6 months of cop school
You can’t help but lick those boots huh
“Direct instructions from the police”. 🤣
Get him!!!!!!
Why is it that every single cop apologist on earth has to also be a pathological liar? No one "pushed" the cowardly copper, the low IQ loser jumped ON the car. If you can't be honest and truthful and factual, then, you can't be credible bro. Are you a cop? You have the entitlement mentality of a cop, to be sure.
Thank you for playing. You may pick up your year's supply of Rice-A-Roni consolation prize on your way out.
Why is this a scandal? Break the law = go to jail. Pretty simple. No one is above the law.
Tell that to the orange tub of goo
@@AndrewShepherdODAS
In the meantime, let’s not review the videos in the White House about the white powder. And let’s just not investigate Hunters laptop, or Epstein’s client list. Or how the super smart Biden’s got so rich.
Exactly. Who cares that he is #1 golfer. That is why so many famous and rich people do some horrible things. They seem to always be given a free pass. He broke the law and he better be glad he was white because if he was black or brown he would prob have been shot…but media gasps because a famous white man got arrested..gross
They were letting golfers and caddies through. This cop was just a little slow in the head
apparently you hate freedom
Years screaming about no one being above the law, advocating for putting golfer above the law. The hypocrisy is ripe.
Corrupt Law
Yeah exactly how FOX News reported it - no big deal, a plain ol' misunderstanding, he spoke so highly of "our protectors" the police
What else do you expect from Democrats? If it weren’t for double standards, they’d have no standards AT ALL!
Wait someone is dead? But I have a golf tournament to play! I’m more important!🤦♂️
They all seem so shocked that a guy who broke the law was arrested.
Arrested for nothing
He ran over a cop
He should have cooperated. It's his fault.
Honestly! This is the most exciting thing I've ever witnessed in Golf...
Nope it wasn’t. I witnessed the event. I live here on shelbyville rd. You have no idea what you’re talking about
Why wouldn’t he be arrested and charged? He broke the law.
Sure he did.....you people
You're insane.
How so? Please cite the specific law that you believe was violated? Also, I'd like the statue number if you don't mind. Also, what about the goto excuse every cop in America uses that they felt in fear for their life? Cannot a regular Joe be in fear as well? Get off your knees man!!!!

For assaulting a police officer.
I swear you people think you're above the law
@@bradhuff256aren't you people always saying that we should just comply?
These people are a joke. What happened to no one is above the law?
Joe Scarborough never believed that. All them on this show believe celebrities should be exempt.
So he broke the law, Equality for all
Exactly.
If he had waited like everyone else, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
I'm a pro golfer, I don't have to wait.
miss a stop sign get thrown against a car handcuffed and thrown in jail... That is your "law". The USA is truly a police state.

What law? What law did he break? Try to be specific please.
@@Coyotehello Didn't this occur on private property? If so, that makes it even worse. Traffic laws are not enforceable on private property.
AMAZING HOW THEY ARE TRYING TO DEFEND HIM … THEY TOLD HIM TO STOP 🤦🏽♂️ & HE THOUGHT HIS PRIVILEGE MADE HIS THE DIFFERENCE
How outrageous! Sports "celebrities" shouldn't have to stop for emergencies nor obey traffic signals, barricades, flaggers, or police officers. Their GAME is more important than someone being killed, endangered, or assisted.
Missing the point minks?
He was in a car marked for players that was supposed to be exempt from stopping.
Tell me you don't know what's going on by telling me you don't know what's going on
@@mycoinsyourpurse2244 Doesn't matter if your car is marked exempt. You don't know why the cop is asking you to stop. If they say stop, you stop.
I've been in situations like that, where I was in a car marked for access, and was stopped. I was told there was a security problem inside the venue and that they needed me to wait until it was resolved. So I waited.
Even another fully dressed police unit would be bound to stop as directed.
I'm sure Mr golf pro was thinking " surely this doesn't apply to me, I'm a star".
Another example of do stupid things, get stupid prizes.@@mycoinsyourpurse2244

How about not jumping on a moving vehicle? Didn't that cops mother ever teach him not to do that?
Sorry Scottie, If a cop tells you to Stop, You STOP!
Unless you're a democrat, then you don't obey the officers direct orders
The cops told Donald Trump to return stolen national secrets, and he didn't. Is that different?
He didn't understand it was police.

@@BEVERLYRANDOLPH-lx4qu Yup! Still seeing it . . .
Qualified immunity is why America IS a police state.
I've never driven through security or a police checkpoint with an office on my car. Anyone else?
Huh?
Privilege and they wonder why blacks don't get fair treatment in the justice system
Celebrity or not, the law is the law. In that situation, a police officer telling you to stop is a lawful order. It's as simple as can be really. No person should receive any special treatment, maybe the golfer should have stopped his car, approached the officers on foot to ask what was happening and explained why he needed to get through.
Someone had just died at the scene. He is not above the law for once.
Police escort? Who ever approved that should be fired.
A crime scene, not a police escort.

Booooo media. Everyone needs to follow rules. He is not special.
He broke the law he went to jail just because he's a professional golfer doesn't make a difference

What was Scottie thinking.
Poor, poor rich guys who think they can skirt security, or grab 'em by the pu*sy, or change tweeting to 'x-ing'...
Whether it was the police or security, go ahead and stop, and maybe even offer to help...I'm sure this incident could've been avoided.
Exactly
Poor, poor ginger. You’re only upset with rich people on the right, when the left rich do the most damage and disgusting things.
Why do right and left wingers only ever agree on the worst takes? Nobody ever has any right to lay their hands on you unless you're threatening threatening the safety of someone else through no action of their own.

Who thinks they can drive around an active Police scene? Seriously, what kind of reporting is this?
This is the mentality of the entitled class, how dare they have to wait for a person struck and killed by a bus.
They were letting the golfers and caddies through. One officer told him to proceed the other one grabbed the car. Lots of confusion and mixed messages.
Dragging a police officer "attached" to your car and you don't know why you are in handcuffs?
Dude thought he was superior and didn't need to listen to authorities. He was wrong and is not being educated.
you know, I think there is a case like this in a Manhattan court right now where the "New York County Supreme Criminal" is saying the same thing.
McCONNELL SAID THE ATATE MOTTO IS NOBONY GOES OR MOVES TO KENTUCKY UNLESS THEY WANT TO DIE, SO I GUESS HE GOT OFF LITE
He was told to proceed by another officer. The policeman injured grabbed the car. There was a lot of confusion.

Enough blame to go all around. Police might be extreme, but Scheffler bypassed a security/police road block. It was probably a crime scene and might have been contaminating it by intruding. He didn't stop when told. He dragged an officer along the road. Yes, question why officer hopped onto car, but still. Why is he so special as to ignore the road block? Sounds like celebrity entitlement bit him in the golf balls.
Cops say "Stop", you stop. Not hard.
What’s the boot taste like
Except if you're No. 1 in the world.
Maybe the victim was in fear for his life? Isn't that the excuse cowardly coppers use all the time? Why cannot an actual, hard-working citizen use the same excuse when attacked by a cop? Are only cops allowed to be skeered in this country?
@coreyshotthat they say "Jump", you say "how high?".
And why is that? Are they better than us?
No one is above the law!!!
Golfers ego.
He dragged a police officer for 10 yards! Scheffler's game is not more important than the cop's safety! Why didn't he stop and explain to the police who he was?
Do you grab cars?
Should that matter who he is? No it shouldnt.

What cop hits another vehicle that’s going 5mph? Cops escalated everything
Scottie has since been released and is at the club. Now he knows what it's like to be a black athlete.

They would've unloaded every magazine if it wasn't one of the golfers.
I worked Executive Security for golfing events. We didnt let them drive at all. Professional driver. Leave 1 hour earlier than needed. Security team escorts principle to registration and handed off to another green security team. Then back to us when event is over. Golfers are very sensitive. Dont cough, sneeze etc. Especially walk when they hold up a Quiet Please sign. If there are birds squacking in trees or a plane overhead they will be so upset its crazy
They police are doing the job
Police need to stop jumping in / on / in front of cars in order to create charges. I can't jump on someone's car and say "I'M BEING ASSAULTED!" Why are cops allowed to do that?
"Sir, there is a police officer attached to the hood of your vehicle." "Yes, I see that, but I am the #1 golfer in the world." ZOOOOM!
The hate this show has for police officers is off the charts.
What is wrong with these newscasters? They are absolutely nuts. One DOES NOT take the side of someone who disobeys a police officer then drags them around by their car. The bigger spotlight needs to be on these media clowns.
Jeez. A man died. Who doesn’t cooperate with the cops! Why does he get an escort!
"a hole in one"has a whole diff meaning in prison
Let's not forget the pedestrian killed by a shuttle bus. Of course the police are going to want that area roped off and be left alone for their investigation.
R.I.P. whoever you were.
The fact that he is the No1 golfer in the world is irrelevant. The facts of the case may be shown not to justify a charge, but the fact that he is famous golfer is irrelevant.
Should have just cooperated...
Dude was told to stop, saw all the emergency workers, and proceeded to go through an accident scene. Maybe he should have followed orders and stopped then this could have been avoided.
He tried to run over police!!! Lock him up!
Just so everyone knows, LMPD was supposed to be letting players and media personnel through. Several were allowed through during the same time that this happened. The police somehow did not realize that he was a player despite the car he was driving being marked with the PGA logo and designated as a player transport car.
I just wanted to know what the world's best golfer looked like. Why the shock? It happens to us all. No wait. What am I saying?
#1 golfer in the world lands somewhere below the #50 ping pong player in the world.
Scheffler did not stop when asked by the police and continued to drive when the officer was holding on to his car.
Why are you defending him?
2:11 hey joe, this happens every day to regular folks. Doesn't matter who you are.....only politicians/rich people and white women get special treatment.
Always, always, always comply with the police and do so politely and respectfully. If the police overstep you have recourse to civil action later. But always comply first.
These people are the biggest phonies ever..
Privileged thinking he can do whatever he wants who cares who he is those cops have no idea who he is.
What is it with professional sports people committing crimes recently
Honey, it started in the 90's with O.J. Simpson and ratched up with the age of trump!
mitch mcconnell's kentucky😂😂😂
You can always tell about someone's character by the way they treat those they don't need to treat well... like for example, a cop you don't know is a cop...
No one above the law including this men being arrogant toward the law enforcement
What were they thinking? They were investigating a crime scene where a pedestrian had been killed. Talk about entitlement. A cop says stop you stop. Even if you are the number 1 golfer in the world or a talking head on msnbc.
Who cares if it was him or Patrick Mahomes. Equal laws, equal justice.
Sounds like Scottie asked for an attitude adjustment and the Kentucky police have obliged. No one is above the law.
Im so sick of these people. Just because he is a Famous Golf Player he can get away with what he did? WFT?
This highlights the craziness and damage that cops with fragile egos can do.
There is no situation that the police can’t make worse.
He should have stopped and at least asked if he could go thru or be rerouted. Who thinks they can drive by emergency vehicles that are responding to a tragedy?
After skimming through a percentage of the comments, an item overlooked was the area was a crime scene due to the fatality. In order to preserve the crime scene, access is restricted during the gathering of evidence. Scheffler was contaminating the "chain of evidence" when his vehicle entered the restricted area. If there was fault, the case to prosecute could be weakened.
SS: I didn't know you're a cop.
Police: I saw the car saying "PGA" but IDGAF!
Really bad take here, MSNBC. What were they thinking? He thought himself so important he could bypass an accident scene and drive with a cop on top of his car. Like who cares about him being a golfer??
Seems like he misunderstood a security situation and then the police acted extremely aggressively in response
Another who believes they are above the law....all he had to do is stop and follow directions, it is not up to the police to explain why they are stopping anyone, Scheffler put himself in that position when he behaved irrationally
It sounds like scheffler is being charged properly and he is completely in the wrong. Anybody else would be held accountable for this so he should be held accountable just like the rest of us.
Patrick Mahomes would have called the race card, bottom line is he should have stopped.
I personally would like to see the FULL VIDEO of the cops signals and the time frame of traffic. I bet there's more to this story than leads on!!!
In this country you can be arrested, handcuffed and jailed for what undoubtedly is going to amount to a traffic misunderstanding yet you also can enter this country ILLEGALLY breaking the law and be given a bus/plane ride to your favorite destination, housed and fed....boggles the mind
Apparently he thinks he's more important then the poor soul that lost his life.. talk about entitlement
Number one golfer doesn’t mean anything. If he was in the wrong then he was in the wrong. Wake up!!
Not a good look for MSNBC ... just because he's rated #1 golfer and won the Masters last month, you think he deserves special treatment? And comparing him to Patrick Mahomes trying to get to the Super Bowl game ... I would venture a guess that Mahomes would know better than to ignore police or security commands and continue on thru a road block. Scheffler is not above the law.
⚠️ Because when you live an entitled life in the richest city in Texas and you don't live in the real world like the rest of us, you think you don't have to follow the rules. This is the case with most pro golfers.

@@enidankavon you’re definitely one of types of white people😢

Pretty easy to see. Golfer thought he was better than everybody else and above the law. He had that entitled attitude. " Don't tell me what to do, I'm a pro golfer " I think his head is probably a little more closer to Earth at this point. ✔️
